How do you forecast the reaction to the lol classic support meta will be?

For those that don't know, the support meta back then was very different. Support barely didn't have any gold, and the gold that they had they were supposed to spend on Wards and Oracles only. Oracles is the original version of Sweeper, which cost four hundred gold, and you lost it when you died. Or after a few minutes. Many games you didn't even complete a single item or max 1 item. You couldn't do a thing on your own.

Nowadays, supports are giga power crept. I think the role was changed to be the most op role nowadays, because queue health was bad when too little players played support.

Barely no one queues up with the thought "I wanna spend my freetime supporting someone else". Most players think: "I want to have the fun all for myself". That's why the support role was made one of the most OP roles in the game, because it needs to be, otherwise matchmaking suffers.
They get gold without doing anything and shit tons of it. People are allowed to play every kind of troll pick in support nowadays. Back then this was not possible, at least not without being a dead weight to your team effectively. Since they have free gold generation nowadays, they can have most fun for the first twenty minutes and do whatever the fuck they want during the lane.

Compare support to adc for a second. Support gets to be strong the first 20 mins minimum of a game, without needing even to last hit. You're whole job is PVP combat, which is enjoyable for many people.

Many games are already decided at that point. ADC though has a 50/50% chance that the game will even reach a state where they can matter. Many games are decided before this point is even reached. And even then, since scalings are exponential, you'll only have another ~10 mins of real fun, because then the game is over. Support is a guaranteed 20 mins of fun nowadays, ADC is a 10 mins of fun every second game (~5 min fun per game on average). That's how strong Riot needed to make support to be finally not a queue issue anymore.

How do you think modern players will adopt to the old support style, which was really an original support that was just there to support the team on a limited gold income? Normal Wards were something like 75g and Pink wards 100g. You were supposed to run around the map after each recall and establish vision for every lane. Trinkets didn't exist, the only source for wards were buying. And you could place as many as you want, the 3 wards limit was introduced later. That meant you buy as many wards as you can and no item for yourself.

Do you think players that nowadays play support will play support in LoL Classic? Or do you think that support goes back to a priority role in matchmaking and barely noone wants to play it?

Supports are no humans (rant)

Played 2 games today. First game was Locke support who flashed into tower level 1 and died (didnt even get return kill)

The only play we had botlane his ult stole the 2 kills and I played a hyperscaler (Nilah) and got no gold, because Mr for fun supporter stealed all kills and provided no value and no scaling back.

Next game I get a Lux support who dies all the time, uses all her abilities to steal my farm and is just dead at every important fight before the fight even started.

The game is fun. The problem is the people.

I suffer so much from these people picking their selfish for fun supports and ruining everyone elses game instead of just picking Alistar, Soraka, Janna, Milo or hell even Zyra support.

It tilts me so much and makes the game so uninteresting to play.

How to create trailer scenes with 2 characters fighting each other, including Niagara Systems, spawned actors by abilities and nicely controlling the scene?

Hi,
I want to render some scenes for a trailer. However im heavily struggling since 3 days.

Im mostly trying around with level sequencer. But it's a pain in the ass somehow to use**. My biggest issue is so far that spawned actors from abilities and the niagara systems dont show.**

Another issue is that level sequencer is somehow super buggy. I record my character there with the take recorder, but afterwards the levelsequencer remains empty or doesnt play back anythign at all, even though the character is in the level.

How do you usually do that? I need a way to script basically:

Character A goes forward (animated properly)'
Uses ability Fireball

Character B uses dodge roll and afterwards runs towards Character A and uses Sword Attack

Nothing more.

How do you approach this?

How to play with a enchanter support that hides the whole game on the other side of the screen?

Hi,

I'm struggling right now when I get enchanter supports that stay 50000 units behind me all game.

In my mind enchanters are supposed to trade with their abilities and autos. But somehow the enchanters I'm currently getting (low emerald, high plat) stay behind, and only use their abilities when I get engaged on.

Since I usually won't survive that engage, I'm forced to bleed like 100 cs in the laning phase, which is unacceptable. I'm fine going down 20-30 cs in a lane phase if I have the scaling of an enchanter on my side, but the amount I have to sacrifice with these AFK supports is insane to not die.

In my head, when we either got a good wavestate or the enemy support used their main engage tool, the enchanter needs to punish the healthbar of the enemy heavily (with me together), so that another engage becomes risky for them. The enchanters in my last games didnt do so.

Any tips on how you deal with afk supports that put up 0 lane pressure and wait for you to make every play or to be engaged on? I play all kinds of adcs. Jinx, Sivir, Corki, Nilah, Ashe, Yasuo, but also mages like Asol, Veigar, Vlad and Swain if they fit nicely in the draft.

Anyone on 5.8 yet? Did you test the MCP server yet?

I think it is out by now, no?

I'm using an open source MCP server currently. But I don't want to upgrade yet. Thinking about waiting another 4 weeks to get the first bugs fixed maybe?

I'm curious about who decided to upgrade already and especially how the MCP server works for them. On my non-official MCP server niagara systems are super broken f.e.

pure joints gehen immer aus, tipps gesucht

hi,

Whats more important to you when playing league: Having fun or winning?

I'm genuinly wondering how different players approach the game.

At the highest level of play, I feel like league is quite boring. If you watch a POV from a pro player, usually in a 20-30 minute game you only have a couple of moments of real skill expression, everything else is playing your matchup a la cookbook.

---

Meanwhile the things that win you games the most are quite boring for most players in my opinion. what wins you games? taking down objectives. but taking down objectives is boring for most people: spending mana, cooldowns and auto attack timers on turrets and baron/ dragon means you cant use mana, cooldowns and auto attack timers on enemy players, which would be sooo much more fun.

i think one of the most frequent thoughts in the game is: you guys take the objective meanwhile i go and zone them. read: you guys do the boring pve, while i do the funny pvp and get anyways the team wide rewards from your pve.

---

i see so many objectives missed out because players are like lets just chase this one more kill quickly and while chasing that kill your window for taking the game winning objective closes, since the chase is so long that the enemy team already respawns and can contest you, since you are still chasing like headless chicken around the map with half health pools from previous fights and non-spent gold.

---

personally, my biggest fun in games is when everyone executes cleanly and the match has the highest gameplay quality possible. and for me its okay to catch a big sidewave to set up tempo/ lanes for an objective play instead of playing fight-respawn-fight-respawn-fight-respawn-fight-respawn for 35 mins nonstop.

---

how about you guys? if you had to take the tradeoff: boring play but winning, or funny play but loosing, how would you decide?

Software Development on bazzite?

Thinking about switching to bazzite. Would like to play some games on the OS that I develop software on, too.

How is bazzite for software development? I do basic web/ app development, react, react native with android emulator mostly, nodejs, docker, python, mongodb, postgres, you get the deal.

What's your experience with developing on bazzite?

Had the situation today that my support didn't see that they are playing for the level 2 engage. Giga obvious. They contested the push (I couldn't call my support to also contest the wave because we were not in voice and he didn't have it on his mind obviously) and they already ran forward to engage after the third melee.

I stepped back in time, but my support died on level one.

This is just one of many examples. Trades are often decided by milliseconds. And being a premade in voice is an advantage in my opinion. You can just see if one botlane is premade and the other isn't in so many small interactions. Clearing wards, resets, engage targets, flanks around enemy vision, etc etc etc.

Is there official data on how much premades win in botlane more?

I feel it's kinda unfair as a solo player. My suggestion would be make solo queue entirely solo. Duo queues are also moved into flex queue, so this queue gets a nice population boost.

What do you guys think about fairness in premade vs non premade botlanes?
