There should be more MPB/Balding positivity, neutrality, and acceptance within the trans male community.

I understand that balding is not necessarily a fun thing, for neither trans men nor cis men. However, the absolute doom and gloom that is spread about it especially within the trans community is horrible. I wish we could bring some of the r/bald positivity in our spaces, where it is at least neutrally accepted to be a common change that testosterone can bring.

I can't help but feel it is often connected to some trans men having been brought up with extreme pressures to be attractive women, thus causing balding to be a very intimidating and harrowing aspect. When it is brought up in spaces, it is never in a neutral or positive light and often people are urged to start medications (min/fin) or even alter or quit T! Of course, this is people their right, but I would love to start seeing some posts where balding or bald trans men get their love too.

This is my ode to the balding men!

Edit: Since some people latched on to the first sentence of my second paragraph, I dont necessarily think its the key point. But I've definitely heard people mention it in previous discussions and think it can be one of the many reasons it can differently impact trans men versus cis men experiencing MPB

Isotretinoin (Accutane) skin, which moisturiser to replace my Round Lab Baby Mild Cream with?

This cream has been an absolute godsent during my treatment (though I still have to reapply it throughout the day). It contains oats, ectoin, panthenol, and ceramides, aka the perfect recipe to keep my very sensitive and dry accutane skin at bay. However, no local shops have it and I'd have to ship it with yesstyle or stylevana which I don't like doing environmentally and hassle-wise. I have been looking at EU or EU-available moisturisers to replace it, which would be best?

Other suggestions very welcome, as might be seen, I enjoy large-value moisturisers best.

Edit: thank you for the suggestions so far! I'd ideally like EU brand recs if possible

7,5WPO, small dogear discovered after swelling went down. Will it resolve on its own?

I know I should wait the long game, but just wondering if any people had dogears like this which resolved on their own so I know my chances?

3 weeks post-op with dr. van Loenen (NL)

(Pic 1: 3 weeks PO, Pic 2: ~2 weeks PO, Pic 3: 1 week post op, Pic 4: 1 day after surgery)

I'm very happy with my results already, the team was all extremely helpful and accommodating. I got a hematoma at 12DPO, through no fault of mine or theirs. We tried draining a little and the rest should resolve itself according to her. My nipple placement and incision shape I'm very happy with, and for additional questions and for example my complication she responded very quickly and reassuringly!

Mobility and pain has been pretty great, managed with their standard paracetamol schedule and quit after 1.5 week. Only got back on pain management after the hematoma for a week.

(I also got a small burn wound by cauterisation, one blood vessel wouldnt stop bleeding so she compromised to burn through the skin a little to prevent the bleeding. I'm glad she did bc I'd rather a little extra scar than even more internal bleeding)

Tips for helping a hematoma go down faster?

I'm currently exactly 3 weeks post-op and developed a sudden painful hematoma 8 days ago. My surgeon tried draining some of it, not much came out, but she said it was relatively small and my body would take care of the rest and just to keep compression on it. After this it wasnt painful anymore but I still want it gone sooner rather than later.

I've been keeping compression on it as much as possible (though I keep being paranoid it isnt enough), lightly massaging it with hot water under the shower, and ordered bromelain tablets to help it leave faster. Does anyone have other tips which helped their hematoma go down?

I also have arnica gel, but havent used it yet bc I'm scared the increased bloodflow might make it worse

Anyone have succes with regrowth with TE triggered by an Accutane course? (21M)

I took 40mg Isotret at 54kg for 6 months, and it triggered by hair to be extremely brittle and caused TE. I have a lot of "fluff" which I cannot distinguish well if it is regrowth or breakage. I only got off three weeks ago and am wondering if I'll ever manage to obtain healthy hair again. Am taking VitD, B12 and iron supplements.

Wet to better show the thinness and difference in hair length of strands

dry

Is this regrowth/did I gain some ground, or am I being misled by my hair just having grown longer? (21M, 5% min 1x a day for 1.5 months + got off Accutane)

My front + top is still thin, but ive been noticing some small hairs of the same length popping up which im hoping is regrowth. Additionally, I feel like my corners look somewhat better? Although its hard to tell if its just obscured bc my hair has grown a bit.

1 days vs 1 week post-op Dr. van Loenen (MC Bloemendaal)

I very unexpectedly got an earlier surgical date with her. The staff and herself were all very kind, accomodating and skillful. Nipple sponges came off today 1 week (and 1 day) post op, am already very happy with the results. Everything looks pretty calm, just watching out and making sure it stays that way. Nipple and scar placement are pretty nice too to me?

How come post-op binder recommendations differ so much?

I just had top surgery a week ago, and my surgeons advice is wearing it for 4 weeks after surgery. Ive noticed online that a lot of advice differs, ranging from a couple of days to 2 months of post-op binder wearing. I know the purpose of it is to prevent hematomas and general swelling and restrict movement of the incision at first, but how come its so different per surgeon? Does it depend on the specific surgical technique or just personal experience or preference of the surgeon?

Feel like I look like an ugly girl rather than a reg guy (20M)

Been on T for 1,5 years and getting top next week. IDK what it is but feeling so dysphoric, my appearance has changed a lot along with hair getting curly, face changing a bit, but I feel like I look like an extremely clockable ugly thing rather than just a regular below average guy. Height doesnt help either (5'2)

Am I balding or receding? (20M) Does it look bad?

My hairline has always been high but I think my hair is pulling back more now. Plus, I'm pretty sure Accutane has caused my hair to be pretty brittle and turned it curly, which makes it look even worse imo. Not sure what to do, just want to look presentable especially as a young guy. Any tips or advice?

(I use reg shampoo and conditioner and then aunt jackie quench leave in + UG curl jelly to style it)

Lipikar Syndet/Cleanser "Dupes"

The LRP Lipikar Syndet is my absolute HG cleanser, even on accutane it serves me well and I have gone through a couple of 400ml bottles now. However, I want to try and avoid L'Oreal owned brands a bit, and was wondering if there are any very similar cleansers out there? I had already been eyeing the Uriage Xemose Syndet. Anyone who has made a similar change and knows a good rec? I'd love for a similar consistency and cleansing power.

Post-surgery binder

Hey mensen!

Sideview of my hair looks strange, 20yo, recently started on 5% min

I recently discovered my temples receding a bit. I was a late bloomer, and always had a high hairline, big forehead and thinner sides/sideburns. However, now I noticed my temples really were getting up there. The hard thing, I really like the front view of my hair, but the sideview just looks so weird!

Its also only recently started to curl, the sides too which does not help at all for the unkempt/thinning view it gives. Does anyone have any tips for how to improve the side view while I still have some hair left? 😅

(Excuse the shiny lips, Isotret has my hair and lips drier then ever before)

L'oreal hydra plump shampoo + conditioner

Once a week H&S derma soothing shampoo
