Coming out of the crafter I couldn’t do anything other than turn, walk and drop things from inventory. Couldn’t run, couldn’t get guns out, couldn’t crouch, nothing.
Following my earlier post (https://www.reddit.com/r/airconUK/comments/1voace9/have\_someone\_coming\_monday\_to\_do\_a\_quote/) , I've now had the first quote for air con at home and would appreciate people's thoughts.
House is 93m² over two floors. Unfortunately there's nowhere sensible for an upstairs unit on the landing, so it would need to go in the master bedroom.
Installer has recommended one multi-split system with:
Midea
2 indoor units: £4,375
3 indoor units: £5,495
Hitachi
2 indoor units: £4,580
3 indoor units: £5,871
No VAT on the above.
The Midea proposed is the Solstice range and the Hitachi literature supplied is for the airHome 400.
Thoughts on Midea Solstice vs Hitachi airHome? The three-unit Hitachi installation is only £376 more?
The bit I'm less keen on is the warranty: one year parts and labour followed by two years manufacturer's parts-only, conditional on regular maintenance.
I'm not planning to install until autumn/winter, so I'll be getting another couple of quotes as well.
(Yes, I used AI to prep this and remove any personal information about me or the installer)
For a split unit, ideally one downstairs and one upstairs. In simple terms what do I need to know and ask do I don’t look like a complete AC noob?
Thanks!
We've started keeping a watering can in the shower, to catch water that would have gone down the drain anyway. It's kept at the back against the wall and mainly catches the edge of the fall from the overhead shower, so its pretty clean.
We then use this to water the plants.
I know you can fill it up from the tap, during a hosepipe ban, but this water would have gone down the drain anyway.
Going to get a water butt next and top it up with this, even when/if it starts to get wetter again.
Hope this doesnt break any of the sub's rules.
Did a search but they’ve not come up.
Obvs know about BOTB (but don’t know anything about football), what else is there?
For the first time in her career. Small team of 4. Does anyone have any recommendations for good books that cover the basics of team management - dummies guide, sort of thing?
Because this game is 💩.
But still can’t easily explain to people ‘where I’m from’ and realised, when talking about the World Cup with someone today, that that will never change.
Move them to current workplace pension or open a SIPP and ETF them? Need another 15 years or so. None have any special benefits.
Thank you for your message.
I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble with Ohme recognising the battery status.
As an Ohme Labs feature, communication directly through your vehicle (via API) is still in development. Due to limitations imposed by vehicle manufacturers, it may not work as intended from time to time.
In this case, we therefore recommend you continue using Ohme as a smart charger without the API integration (by clicking "Unpair my Skoda", then "Unpair now").
Once we have this resolved we will send communications out to all affected users. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we continue refining this exciting feature.
Does this affect all VW cars?
It does, our tech team are well aware of the issue and they are working on it
*louder and louder
Noticing this more and more on my train based commute into London - people having conversations at volumes the whole carriage can hear. I expect this from our cousins across the pond but surely we have indoor voices and don’t need to share our business with the general public.
Ordered mid April for delivery in June, pushed to mid June, then mid July and now mid August. Need a car in June.
Whats going on and what are my options?
Just rewatched 2024's Civil War and it really leaves me wanting to know more about the world this movie exists in. What happened to the rest of the world when the US went into civil war, what happened outside of the road trip these journalists are on.. on the macro level. Same with the 5 years of the Snap in Avengers - what was the world like?
Any other movies that have left you curious about the world?
Can't always use mic so rely on the ping system a lot, and it works well, but personally I'd like to see a few more added:
