30 [F4A] UK - Looking for friendly, empathetic people :)

Hi! I would really like to connect with some genuine and understanding people who I can have great conversations with.

I think I am an empathetic person so would love to find someone similar. I have struggled with anxiety and depression so I can really relate to how lonely it can be. But I am also a positive person :) I believe community and connection are so important.

I'm an introvert who loves nothing more than to sit with my cosy blanket in bed and spend more time on the internet than I should 😆 But I am also trying to get out more and love doing activities outside too!

Some things I love - walking, nature, plants, surfing reddit, stupid cat videos lol, watching recipe videos.

Really only looking for someone from the UK due to it being easier with the timezone.

Does anyone know of any groups/ meetups for people with anxiety?

Currently on the waitlist for NHS talking therapies. I have anxiety and depression and really looking to connect with people who have experienced the same.

I'm not looking for emergency services like samaritans/ shout. I am 30F so can't use places like no limit and a lot of other services are for under 25s only. I have not had any issues with abuse so can't use charities like yellowdoor.

I've tried the lighthouse centre and tbh didn't enjoy the experience (felt very judged).

I contacted solentmind and the only place they seem to have available is peer support at the mayfield garden centre which is a bit far from me.

Are there any drop in mental health support places that are actually open?

Went to the lighthouse service in Shirley which is advertised online as open and it's not.

Just wondering if anyone knows of any services around in person for mental health support.

Thanks

Manifesting money with no job

I feel like when it comes to this topic I very rarely see any success stories.

I have currently manifested the following with no job:

-Parents gave me some money out of the blue for helping them do some cleaning and organising (£50)

-Found money while cleaning my own space (£15)

-Got sent 2 items by accident when I only ordered one. I count this as a money manifestation as I could have returned one and got a full refund however decided to keep them both. (£30)

-Wanted to return an item to amazon but they told me to keep it and sent me a full refund too. (£56)

Even though these are success stories they are still small amounts. I would really like to manifest a large amount of money with no job.

I would love for anyone to share some success stories or tips around this topic ✨

Lonely people put no effort into making connections

I have been actively trying to make friends and have come to the realisation that lonely people are lonely cause they put no effort in at all.

I've made posts before in different communities. People will start a conversation and any of the following will happen:

-we'll talk for about 2 days before they just stop replying to me.

-they can't hold a conversation at all and I'm basically the one asking questions and keeping it going (I might as well just be talking to myself).

-guys will talk to me pretending they want to be friends then start pushing for my number and asking if I'm dating anyone 🙄

I've tried talking to people in person at different events or when I'm out and most people seem to already have their friend groups and are not interested in making more. Sometimes I'll set up a hang out with people I know and they will cancel for one reason or another.

It seems that everyone complains about loneliness and how there's no 'community' anymore but yet no one is willing to put any effort into it. Don't get me wrong, I understand that life is hard and we sometimes get exhausted from working, family commitments, stressful life event etc. But you also can't get upset that you have no connections.

This is not everyone, there is a small minority of people who genuinely try to build a community but apparently I haven't come across any of those people yet.

How do I pick the right therapist?

Currently looking for a therapist and there are quite a few to pick from in my area. I've never had private therapy before so tbh I don't know what I'm looking for in terms of having the right therapist?

The only thing I do know is I want someone who does not do cbt as I had that before and it doesn't work for me.

The lack of empathy in society is getting scary

Look, I am no angel but I do try to be a good person as much as I can. But recently I've noticed just how mean spirited people have become. Don't get me wrong I know assholes have always existed but I swear people are just becoming more selfish.

The amount of hate, racism, homophobia I see online is insane. And yes I know I should expect that on the internet but these are still real people sharing their thoughts..

People road raging like nobodys business, cars pulling out dangerously cause god forbid they have to wait a few extra seconds. Getting upset when people drive the speed limit instead of speeding so they tail gate. People honking their horns over nothing and screaming out of their windows over minor inconveniences.

People huffing and tsking in line when a poor eldery person is taking a bit longer to check out their shopping. If you're in such a fucking rush go to the half empty self scan tills instead of waiting in line.

I could think of a million more examples. But like wtf??! Why are people so fucking unempathetic? And a lot of times I swear people are going out of their way to be an asshole.

Why do humans eat so much variety?

Do you ever find it funny when people say that raw vegan/ vegan is too restrictive?

There is no animal on the planet that eats as much variety as humans. We give our pets the same food everyday. Maybe like 3 or 4 different flavours of dog/ cat food but it's mostly the same thing everyday. Cows eat grass. Gorillas eat a few different plants.

It seems like people are more emotionally eating than eating for fuel (I am guilty of that too).

Just a thought that came into my head lol.

I also wonder why humans can get fed up of eating the same foods when animals don't 🤔

I'm way too aware of the world

The phrase 'ignorance is bliss' is the most true statement and I truly understand it now.

Ever since my awakening I feel like I am so aware of the world, the truths about everything and just how much corruption there is. It's making me very depressed.

I envy those who just move through the world unaware of what's going on and just play the game of life and live their life normally. I feel like nothing brings me joy anymore, everything seems pointless. I'm working towards nothing and life is just survival, there's no actual living.

I have tried cbt which is absolute dog shit. Basically being told to just 'think positive' and gaslight yourself into 'being nicer to yourself'

I need a type of therapy that will actually help me deconstruct my childhood trauma and go into the root cause of my issues.

Can anyone recommend what I should be looking for in a therapist and what type of therapy would be best?

I am already doing the things I can myself like meditation, getting outside etc.
