Should I remove “wants kids” from my Tinder profile if I’m open to having children, but I’m not dead set on it?

I’m in my early 30s, and I know some people my age feel a lot of pressure around having kids within a certain timeline. I honestly don’t, at all.
I don’t want to close the door on having children. If I meet the right person and kids happen to be part of our future, I’d be happy with that. But I’m also not dating with a “I need to have kids by X age” mindset, and I don’t feel like motherhood is something I need to force into my life if it isn’t meant for me. I’m more of the mentality of, if it feels right or it’s meant to happen, then it does.
My question is more about how men interpret the Tinder label. Since Tinder only gives me “wants kids,” I’m wondering if having that on my profile makes it sound like I’m dead set on having children or working against a biological clock.
Would you interpret “wants kids” that strongly, or simply as someone who would like children with the right person?
I may be overthinking it, but I’m curious how other people read that label- if at all

Has anyone here done either Northeastern’s MS AI Align or MPS Applied AI program?

I’d love to hear what made you choose one over the other, what you’ve liked/disliked about it. Would really appreciate hearing from current students or alumni!

If you’re on tinder, are you emotionally unavailable?

I’ve (33f) been thinking about how emotionally unavailable people often seem to keep finding other emotionally unavailable people.
Is it possible to genuinely want a relationship, but also be nervous about actually meeting someone who could be “the one”? Because once there’s real potential, there’s suddenly something to lose and that pressure can lead to self sabotage.
So instead, you keep choosing people or dating environments where there’s less expectation of commitment. You’re technically still looking, but you’re also keeping yourself in a cycle of dating without ever having to fully confront the possibility of something serious.
Is that essentially another form of fear of commitment?
I ask because, at least in my city, Tinder seems to have a much larger pool of men than apps like Hinge — even though Hinge is generally viewed as the more relationship-oriented app. It makes me wonder how many people want to find someone in theory, but feel safer dating where there’s less pressure for the next person to actually become something serious.

Also asking because I’ve realized that’s why I go on Tinder. As a woman there’s no way I can look through 10K+ likes. It’s exhausting, suffocating, and more of an ego boost. Perhaps men who consistently go on tinder may have better luck on hinge- since it’s less inundated. But then again maybe casually seeing people and never having someone we settle down with is the new future outlook of dating?

Is an MS in AI, paired with niche domain expertise, worthwhile from a career perspective? Or are most AI roles ultimately going to favor candidates with a BS in AI or CS?

I’m trying to better understand what distinguishes the opportunities available to graduate-level AI students, particularly those transitioning from a specialized niche domain expertise in biology. I see many undergraduates competing for AI and ML internships and job opportunities, so I’m curious what the equivalent pathway looks like at the master’s level and whether there are roles where deeper domain expertise provides a meaningful advantage.

How do people actually working in ML feel about the field’s long-term career outlook?

With 6+ years of wet-lab research experience in a Harvard-affiliated lab, I’m considering an MS in AI/ML because I’m interested in building a new technical skill set and potentially moving toward work at the intersection of biology, healthcare, drug discovery, and machine learning.
I’d really appreciate perspectives from people currently working in ML:
How do you view the career outlook for AI/ML over the next 5–10 years?
What are the biggest potential bottlenecks or risks to the field as a career path—oversaturation, automation of ML work itself, fewer entry-level roles, compute constraints, etc.?
Do you think domain expertise + ML will become more valuable as the field matures?
Would 6+ years of experimental biology experience combined with graduate-level AI/ML training be a useful niche?
Are there particular areas of AI/ML where you expect demand to grow?
I’m trying to get a realistic sense of where the field is heading—not just the hype—and whether adding ML to an established biology background could be a strong long-term move.

MS in Artificial Intelligence & job outcomes?

I’m currently deciding between an MS in Artificial Intelligence with a concentration in Machine Learning and an MS in Biotechnology.

First I’m wondering is a Ms in AI is worth it- part of me thinks so due to the way the AI landscape is shaping our world.

For those who pursued an MS in AI, especially international students or anyone who required sponsorship, were you able to land a job that sponsored you for a work visa and/or employment-based green card after graduation?

I’d especially love to hear what types of roles or companies you ended up in and how difficult the sponsorship process was for those who needed it.
Thanks!

Men who chose their career over your romantic interest, and regret it looking back…

Do you mind sharing what that was like?

I’m asking because so many of us who are dating today recognize how difficult the dating landscape has become. While it can feel like there are endless options, the reality is that they aren’t.

Any one of the people you’re dating could potentially become your life partner—perhaps several of them could have.

It makes me wonder whether one of the biggest obstacles to modern dating is our own fear of commitment, combined with the belief that someone “better” is always just around the corner. That mindset seems to have fundamentally changed the way people approach relationships, often at the expense of giving genuine connections the chance to grow.

I just bought my first duplicate define in one size bigger bc Oxford red went in sale….how do I not feel guilty?!

So over the winter I was a size 2, bought a few cropped defines in that size/ but noticed the Oxford red colors fabric seems to have less stretch than the true leopard color for example.
Sizes up to a 4 so that it can fit me more comfy.

Does anyone else do this?! Has anyone done this for this exact reason? What were the lulu colors you couldn’t pass up on getting a second define in?

Trying to make the fact that I got the cropped in pink flare AND Oxford red a little more justifiable😅
Moving forward I think I’ll stick to my bigger more comfy size 4, even if it fits less snatch when I’m cutting.

Thanks everyone! Just a silly morning crisis

Sézane shoes and sizing? Which are your favorites?

I bought a few Paula babies from the archives last summer and winter, and I’ve finally gotten around to wearing them. Oh my goodness, are they supposed to be that uncomfortable, especially with the low or flat toe box? Can anyone advise me if these shoes need breaking in?

Apart from the Paula babies, which shoes are your favorites and most comfortable? Which ones do you prefer for walking?

Also, do you have any information about the Agathe low ballerinas? I’d love to know about their sizing and comfort.

I’m really looking for my next Sézane shoe. Lately, I’ve been feeling like their shoes aren’t the best due to my unfortunate experiences with them so far.

I would greatly appreciate any advice or tips you can offer.

What’s dating like for men in Boston?

I’m in my early 30sF and have been using dating apps on and off since I moved to Boston over six years ago. I’ve had boyfriends, but none of them have lasted long. (To be fair, I’m also quite picky, which is probably why I’m still single.)

I think maybe my ideal partner hasn’t moved to the city yet.

Dear single men of Boston, what’s the dating scene been like for you? Why do you think you’re still single? Is it intentional, or do you enjoy the bachelor lifestyle?

Are you using dating apps? If so, which ones? Are you hopeful or have you stopped looking? Are we still seeking long-term partnerships, or are we gravitating more towards casual, noncommittal encounters?

I’m asking because, as a 33-year-old, I feel like I keep running in circles and think dating is harder than it’s ever been for everyone.

Where do you like to work remote in the city?

I 33F work remote. Im bored of the same two coffee shops I visit to get work done in Back Bay . What are your favorite places where perhaps others who work remote gather at? Im thinking of visiting seaport and wouldn’t mind working there for a few hours if anyone has spots to recommend there, or near by.

I know Boston has work spaces all over you can get membership for, but if I don’t have to do that- I rather not and do an affordable alternative. If you’ve done this, I’d love to hear about your experience!!

Additionally is it wild to think of the possibility of meeting someone out in the wild this way? I’m sick of dating apps, but also wonder if we’re in an area where hoping to be approached in person by a man, is extremely unlikely, and I should just stick to getting work done and not fantasizing hahaha a girl can dream though..

Thanks! :)

No one from onboarding has contacted me

This week I’ve been having a huge issue accessing my micro1 slack account after updating my email. I need an invite back to the group project, cortex and slack expert community. I’ve sent so many emails but no reply.

Email change on Slack?

Any idea if I can still keep a job contract if I need to change my Slack login email? That email will be deactivated next month and need to change it soon

u/sunshine-warmth — 4 months ago

How long before a contract is emailed to you?

I am thrilled to share that I was extended an invitation to join the micro1 team! I received the email Sunday evening, I didn’t notice it until well over 12 hours after it was sent. The email specified replying back within 12 hours. Is this a hard cut off for a job opportunity you were selected for?

I am ready to sign and get started, and really hope I didn’t fumble my chances!

Thanks!

First high end luxury purse…which would you recommend?

Hi! For my 33rd birthday I’d like to treat myself to my first high end handbag. I don’t want to spend over 4k.
So far I’ve been eyeing the purses attached. I’m undecided.

Ideally, I want something that fits my frame (im very slim and petite), just undecided if I want my first purchase to be more of a work bag or a casual everyday bag. I like the NeoNoe MM, for everyday bag…don’t think a laptop would fit though. The carryall I fear may wear me as opposed to me wearing the bag- but it does look like it would be a nice work bag, and maybe diaper bag years later.

Any suggestions? I want something where I can fit a small water bottle, sunglass, and maybe a MacBook Pro?
I don’t have any idea what I’m doing lol any and all advice would be appreciated! Please include a pic of the bag you recommend in possible, and how much can fit inside.

Thanks! :)
