corollary: from ... corona

I find "corollary" a difficult word. Meaning "a natural result, consequence, or logical proof that follows directly from another action, idea, or rule" ... so what not use the word "consequence"?

Anyway, with some etymology I better understand it:

The word corollary comes from the Late Latin corollarium, tracing back to the root words corolla and corona. It shifted in meaning from a small flower crown to a free gift or tip, and finally to a logical bonus or natural result.

Oh, bonus: now I know the meaning of Toyota Corolla.

herkomst "Engelsestraat"

Grappige herkomst:

De Engelsestraat is destijds aangelegd naast het Engelsch Kerkhof, een plein tussen de Van Leeuwenhoeksingel en de Hooikade dat bij de aanleg van de Prinses Irenetunnel verdwenen is.

Dit plein was de voormalige begraafplaats van de Engelse lakenhandelaars in Delft. In 1995 is om de historische naam te behouden, de naam Engelsestraat gegeven aan een nieuwe straat langs de spoorlijn.

gezeten in een KIA EV2: lekker!

Ik vind de EV2 mooi & cool (net zoals de EV3). Met hoekigheid die een VW Up al lang had.

EV2 Air vanaf €27.595. Scherpe prijs. En adaptive cruise control? Ja: "The Kia EV2 comes standard with Smart Cruise Control 2 (SCC2), an advanced adaptive cruise control system that maintains a safe distance from the car in front, operates in stop-and-go traffic, and automatically reduces speed on curves." ... wauw.

Anyway:

Gisteren even naar de dealer gegaan:

  • wat een zitruimte binnenin. Ik ben 1.92m, en als passagier zat ik heel ruim.
  • mooi dashboard: breed scherm, en toch nog wel voldoende knoppen voor snelle opties
  • nauwelijks een middenconsole. Mooi.
  • de buitenlak was bordeauxrood. Dat vond ik saai. Ik hou van felle kleuren.

Geen proefrit gemaakt, want recent al een EV gekocht.
