Breakfast to hopefully give me energy to STUDY for my swedish exam tomorrow!

Hello, so I've made two previous posts about just making a nice bowl of porridge and walking to my exams unprepared but now, I have matured and will hopefully study for it (although it is kinda last minute).

Anyways, I have rye porridge, frozen cranberries, banana, pear, apple and cinnamon (plus then a small yogurt bowl with the same stuff except no cranberries and instead chia seeds)

Did you ever want kids? Or were you always sure you wanted to live child free?

I myself have always wanted kids and just thought to ask, if you have chosen to live kid free, did you always know that the same way as I for example always knew I wanted kids or did it come later on?

I by no means want to debate or anything I'm just curious :)

hijab was a big part of why i developed anorexia

NO I DO NOT FULLY BLAME THE HIJAB, NO I DO NOT BELIEVE HIJAB IS A BAD THING, THIS IS MY PERSONAL EXPERIANCE AND RANT

I wear the proper hijab. Everything covered except for my face and hands, no makeup, no perfume, no tight clothing etc etc. However as a woman i do want to feel beautiful and i realised that the hijab made feeling pretty difficult (yes ik thats the point of it). I also realised that because the type of clothes you need to wear with the hijab are really loose, they made me look fatter than i am. and thats where it all started.

I wanted to look thin and pretty without compromising on hijab so i started losing weight...and then i couldnt stop. because no matter how much i lose, hijab makes me look like i weigh at least 5kg more than i really do.

Currently i have lost my period, i cant stop dieting and i dont know what to do and this all is making me hate the hijab and want to take it off even though i know this isnt the fault of the hijab!

anyways, thanks for reading

wanting to take the hijab off

i dont like going out and everyone knowing im a muslim and straight away having so many ideas about me. especially while living in a non-muslim country that is currenly going through a wave where very racist far-right and islamophobic politics are favored. Is she opressed? why is she muslim and white? why is she acting like that if shes muslim? etc etc etc. Its the feeling of not being able to blend in, of always having to be polite to everyone even if they are rude to me because i represent islam and if i have a bad day and act out of line now this person will think baldy of all muslims because theres no way i could be an individual with my own problems and my own life.

I just want to blend in and not be noticed. but i feel like the hijab is a big light up sign screaming "HEY LOOK OVER HERE"

If i hear one more pregnancy joke im actually gonna lose it.

Whenever i bring up to my friends that i dont have a period and im really worried, theres always someone who says "you sure youre not pregnany?" as a joke. But oh my god i dont even know if i will ever be able to have kids anymore after this! that joke feels like a slap in the face. especially since everyone close to me knows one of my biggest wishes ever is to be a mother and have kids.

What to do now that I got my period back?

Hey, so I got my first period back and waiting on the second one which should be here in 1-2 weeks. I'm just wondering what now? Do I need to keep eating as much as I was in period recovery? If so then for how long? Do I slowly start transitioning back into maintenance calories?

You look better when you get your period back

Okay, lets be honest, the reason why most of us are scared of recovery is because we're scared of the weight gain, scared of looking bad, scared of losing all our progress etc. This might sound like complete bs but here me out, you will look better once you gain your cycle.

Now, the reason you think you look good now when you dont have your period, is because you are sick. You have some kind of messed up relationship with food and bodyimage that causes you to see yourself differently. I dont mean that in an accusing or hurtful way, but as a factual way. You dont deprive your body of nutrients to the point that it decides to shut off your reproductive system and not have any problems with food and/or body immage (also if you didnt have those issues, you wouldnt need to be on this sub).

But trust me, others dont see you that way. Yes, yes, i know we shouldnt try to look our best for others but lets be honest, who doesnt want to be seen as attractive? Think about it, as people we are naturally drawn towards those who appear healthy, because subcontiously we think "hey, they are reliable, they will be there for me if i need them because they show up for themlseves".

Similarly, people naturally aren't drawn to those who are unhealthy. When you dont have your period, your body literally is not functioning well. That kind of person, i hate to say it, is not the most attractive, the most beautiful etc. You have sunken eyes, sallow and thin skin, thin hair, brittle nails etc.

When you get your period back, i promise you, you will look better. I recently got my period back and looking back at old pictures, i seriously look better now that ive gained a bit of weight and have my period.

anyways, its quite late, i hope im making sense and i hope no one takes offense. I am by no means saying "everyone who doesnt have a period is ugly" no. But you are kidding yourself if you think a healthy functioning body will look worse than a sick one, that literally makes no sense.

I got 270 cal left for the day, what should I do with them?

Basically any ideas on what I could eat as my last meal? Preferably focusing on carbs and healthy fats bc my protein goal is hit already

How I got my period back without really changing much

NOTE: I AM NOT A DOCTOR, I HAVE INKY GOTTEN ONE RECOVERY PERIOD SO FAR, AND THIS IS ONLY WHAT WORKED FOR ME! IF YOU HAVE AN EATING DISSORDER AND HAVE RESTRICTED YOUR CALORIC INTAKE TOO MUCH THIS WILL NOT WORK FOR YOU

hello everyone, I'm so so happy to say I've gotten my first recovery period and I'd like to share how I did it. I started my fitness and dieting around September 2025, didn't get my period after December 2025 until now. During that time I lost almost 10kg within about 2 months.

First of all, I never ate too low of calories which is why losing my period was such a shock. I always ate around 1400-1800cal depending on the day (my maintenance being about 2000), got my steps in and went to the gym 4-5x a week (4x weightlifting and cardio 3-5x once again depending on my mood lol). I wasn't new to the gym and have always been pretty active so the only "shock" for my body was the calorie defecite.

I ASSUME that I lost my period because of insufficient nutrients. Although my calories were within normal range, my healthy fats were basically 0-5g a day which ofc is not enough at all! I fell into the trap of low fat that and low fat this, resulting in it being nonexistent in my diet (Fats are essential for hormonal function!). Which is why I assume that was the reason I lost my period.

Upon realising this and noticing my period didn't come on January, I started "recovery" in february-april. I still went to the gym, I still did cardio (maybe a bit less, but weightlifting was the same) and most of the time I was still in a calorie defecite, except I upped them to 1600-2000 and MADE SURE to load up on healthy fats (carbs were never an issue, I love them and always have lol).

I would occasionally binge which is something I've talked on here before and while they did become more common, it never became a huge problem, thankfully. I'm saying this for the sake of full transparency, so there were days when I was in a SIGNIFICANT surplus (like I'm talking 5k+).

Basically the picture I'm trynna paint, is that in the traditional definition of ha recovery, I was not doing that. By most dipping my toes in it but I did still get it back.

Now, if you were eating too little calories AND nutrients to begin with and for a long period of time this will not apply to you because your situation is based on lack of nutrition not poor nutrition like with me. I was also fortunate enough to get my period back quite quickly in my recovery, and since I started my version of recovery so early that also made it easier to get it back. I do not reccomend anyone to do this if you struggle with an eating dissorder, I'm just sharing it for those women here who were in my boat, doing everything right but their body freaked out.

I know this is a sensitive topic as many people want to recover without having to change much and the harsh truth is that it is actually very uncommon for that to happen. I just wanted to toss my own two cents in💕

Could I potentially have an eating dissorder? (Tw)

I struggle so much with recovery I'm starting to think is there an Ed that I need to adress.

So like many girls here I went into a calorie defecite and started working out and I lost my period. I am not underweight though, about 53-54kg 163cm. I just feel like food has taken over everything

For context my friend is a year younger than the guy the letter is going to and they're pretty close friends.

”Hello renzi! i am so happy that I got the chance to meet you and become friends! I think you are so amazing and hard working and so kind! And you’re also super funny and so confident and i love your attitude towards life!

I’m really lucky that i have such and amazing person in my life as you thank you so much!! I hope we get to have many more nice moments together!
