A few pics of my ‘94 XLT

Just rolled over to 90k (oil spots aren’t from it, it doesn’t leak a drop of anything at all), and drives like a dream. Has a few squeaks and creaks in the suspension and under braking, but beyond that, it’s perfect. I love driving it.

Get that Strava lawsuit money!

You might get a whole $1.87 you can put towards your next yearly subscription renewal of $80.

I’ll stick with Garmin Connect, thanks. All of the same stats, and none of the social media peacocking!

Anyone else absolutely despise these things?

I pull them out every time they respawn in my neighborhood. Literally no one wants to see your mini-billboards every 100 feet.

For the record, I’m not talking about private businesses or other peoples yards, nor does this include real estate signs in the yards of those properties. I’m talking about in public spaces/roadways.

All of the CDs in my collection that are not jewel cases

All of the CDs I have that are in paperboard sleeves/cases instead of jewel. I hate how fragile they are, but I do love the weathered look they get to them after 10-20 years.

Gauging interest/pricing range?

I’ve finally decided I’m going to sell this bike to fund some other fun things, so I’m wondering about what it would be worth? Once upon a time I had it listed for $1k OBO but it didn’t get any bites, so I’m guessing that was a tad high.

It’s a 56cm 2006 CAAD8 with R7000 105 11 speed including hubs, Ultegra cassette, Dura-Ace bottom bracket, Chris King headset, and silver alloy Zipp Service Course cockpit. Grand Prix 4 Season tires, Tacx carbon bottle cages, and has extra Ultegra cassette. Would $600-800 be crazy?

CANNOT STOP LAUGHING

This first episode of the series on Ed and Lorraine Warren has had me almost on the floor laughing at least 3 times already. Henry’s “fat Midwest loudmouth” accent absolutely destroys me, I’ve skipped back to these points like half a dozen times 😆😆😆

At the Drive-In - ᴛʜɪs sᴛᴀᴛɪᴏɴ ɪs ɴᴏɴ-ᴏᴘᴇʀᴀᴛɪᴏɴᴀʟ (2005)

Purchased new in 2005-2006, I’m not sure where. Disc one is a selection of unreleased tracks and singles, second disc is a DVD featuring a few music videos, press kit, discography, and CD-ROM extras

Björk - ʜᴏᴍᴏɢᴇɴɪᴄ (1997)

Starting to individually post my personal collection of about 160-180 CDs from the early-90s through present. Just about all of these are were purchased between 1996 and 2012.

Starting with “Post” by Björk. Purchased new in 1997 (I would have been 17-18), my favorite Björk album alongside “Post”.

About to start posting up my collection…

Got them all out of the garage today and cleaned each case (they were dusty AF) and I’ve got about 160 CDs, most are from the early-90s through early-00s when I was in middle/high school and college. They’ll be going up on an Instagram account, but I’ll also be posting here.

Really sucks that one of them is Volume 1.

Original copy, too. Got it right around when CKY2K came out. Tweakers fucking suck.

Physical media no more

I’ve started going through my nearly 200 CDs (most of them originals from high school/college), and these are all the ones that are gone forever after someone broke into my car a few years ago and stole my visor organizer.

A little evening Heyday

Took my Heyday out to some nature trails down the road from my house this evening to burn dinner off. New Restrap handlebar bag to set off the rest of my orange bits.

Current tour t-shirts only have the east coast/southern dates

Bought a t-shirt at the show in Portland all stoked that they would have the full tour on them, get home and wash it the next day and it only has the east coast/southern dates on it up until the middle of May. Kiiiiinda dumb.

My new ‘94 XLT - 88k miles

Planning to get more pics eventually, but this is my new ‘94 XLT w/88k original miles. My grandma bought it new in 1994 (I was with her when she bought it), and she recently decided to stop driving and gifted it to me free and clear.

Apart from a few scratches (that she touched up herself with nail polish) and a small hole in the front seat bolster, it’s in nearly-new condition. Has an intermittent check engine light which I suspect is a bad catalytic converter, but apart from that, it runs perfectly and I’m absolutely in love with it.

What episodes/series have you listened to multiple times?

I’ve probably listened to Rasputin like a dozen times (it’s my favorite), and I’m currently listening to MK Ultra for like the fifth time. Regular rotations include:
- L. Ron Hubbard/David Miscavige
- Aum Shinrikyo
- Jonestown
- The Black Death
- Survival in the Andes
- Mormonism
- Heaven’s Gate
- Manhattan Project
- USS Indianapolis

Lego Road Bike

Got the Lego road bike set for my birthday and built it today. Took about 5 hours with a few breaks in between for food and housework, but this was super fun to build, not nearly as complex as I thought it would be. Pretty damn cool final product.
