How sad is it to love ‘The Word’, but not love your fellow human

I’m not really sure why I’m even posting this, but it occurs to me that many professed Christians, that I meet claim to ‘love Jesus’, ‘love God’, they love the Bible, but they expressed very little love (in facts, most times disdain) for others, that they deem, unworthy, or unappealing to them, because of some differences

Miranda Temple! One of the busiest solicitors in all of Aotearoa

I swear …

Is it even legally possible for one attorney (solicitor) to represent/defend several people (and possibly herself) in any single investigation?

😂

The ‘Country Music’ has gotten a lot better

One of the things that didn’t gel with me about early episodes/seasons of Brokenwood was Mike’s choices in Country Music.

Maybe Kiwi Country is different from (old school) American Country, but the music always seemed forced … or off. The lyrics grated me more than anything.

Since I’m now in S11 (and it might have been apparent in S10 also and I just didn’t notice it) the music seems much more palatable, melodic, and heartfelt.

Thoughts?

Edit:

I did not (and do not) mean to offend anyone with my ‘hate’ statement about the show’s music—I’ve actually reworded the entire post.

Hate was actually too strong a word.

I was just trying to say that, to my ears, the music for the show has really gotten a lot better in later seasons.

Love all y’all. 💚

(Yes, we really do say ‘y’all’ here in Texas).

Keyboard typing noticeably worse

Is anyone else beside me having really bad keyboard recognition issues while typing on iOS 27 right now? I’m using a iPhone 17 Pro Max, and I’m on the second public beta.

Things not to do in …

- Midsomer - be in or near a bar or an open field or any place having a fair or festival

- Poirot - eat or drink ANYTHING … ANYWHERE (especially where family is concerned)

- Miss Marple - be on or near a train or a mansion, or around your spouse or relatives

Can you think of others?

Kristin’s hairstyle … um 🤔

Okay, y’all will probably get sick of me, because I’m so late to the party and late to comment on stuff.

S9 E1 … a fun episode, but the producers changed Kristin’s hairstyle (at least for this episode) and I’m not really sure about it.

She’s a detective and she now looks more like a glamorous movie star. I’m not saying female detectives can’t be attractive (or glamorous), but it (her hairstyle) doesn’t seem to fit with what I’d imagine being her need to be on the go or out and about in all sorts of circumstances and weather.

Do they keep it for later seasons?

This was the full dry bean section at H-E-B

Not sure if you can make out all of the types.

Honestly, I would have thought they’d have a broader selection.

I settled on the cranberry beans (see my other recent post).

1 John‬ ‭4‬:‭20‬-‭21‬ ‭ESV‬‬

“If anyone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen cannot love God whom he has not seen.

And this commandment we have from him: whoever loves God must also love his brother.”

Slowing it down with a return to email over texting

I’ve been toying with leaving instant messaging for some time, and today I pulled the switch.

I’m responding to text messages with a note letting people know they can reach me on email and that unless it’s an emergency, I will not be responding via text.

I also leave the option open for people to call me.

Not sure how this is going to go over with friends and family.

Has anyone else intentionally slowed down their digital life by returning to email or even postal mail?

What to do with habanero peppers? 🌶️

I grew these from seedlings I purchased at the outdoor rack at H-E-B this past spring. Didn’t do much but toss them in a container with some potting soil and kept them watered. No special techniques.

(Kinda not sure what to do with these other than make a spicy vinegar with maybe some salt, pinch of sugar, vinegar, and garlic?

I like spicy foods, but only sporadically and not so hot that I can’t enjoy the food.

I do enjoy hot sauces in small amounts on various things like chicken or fish.

Ideas?
