My kids love looking at the books. Also a good way to prune the home shelves.

Reboot F0 via bluetooth phone app?

Can I force a reboot (hold LEFT + RETURN) remotely? Tried to do it on the phone app but it wouldn't recognise the simultaneous dual touch.

Who has sold their Trifold and regretted it?

Why did you sell it and what made you regret it?

Honestly, I can't stop using the thing. There is a small weight penalty but damn this thing is slick.

With the flood of people using the Fold 8 lately there's still shock and awe when I pull out the trifold.. bwahaha.

When would it ever be "impractical" to indicate left when exiting a roundabout?

Genuinely trying to understand this from NSW Government regarding roundabouts. I'm really struggling to think of a situation where flicking the indicator stalk is too difficult or physically impractical for the average able-bodied human. I mean sure you're putting more effort into things like manipulating steering wheel, pedals, etc, than using the indicator?

I exit roundabouts thousands of times a year and have never felt like this was some kind of feat of athleticism.

By contrast they say you MUST indicate upon entering if you're going left or right, so surely if I am capable of indicating upon entry it would follow I can indicate upon exit? Maybe if you're using hand controls, but it's still a contradiction.

Giant yuccas: yay or nay?

Bought a property with about 25 huge (4+ metres) yuccas. I'm not a huge garden person so didn't know much about them until one fell over in a storm last year. Apparently they don't get much love in Australia. These are very mature. Would it be a good idea to pay to have them removed? Fine to keep them?

Why do people either love or hate these?

Help! OpenRun Pro 2: Is there a way to reassign what the "multifunction button" does?

When I'm listing to music in my car, and wish to switch the output to my Shokz, I press the multifunction button and the music starts going through my headphones. Awesome! That's how my Backbeat headphones work as well.

However, when I'm on a CALL in the car, and wish to do the same thing (switch audio output to Shokz), the multifunction button HANGS UP ON THE CALLER! (unlike my Backbeats which, predictably, switches the audio output to the headphones instead of hanging up the call).

How did Shokz make such a bone-headed UX decision?

Anyway, is there a way to change the behaviour of the multifunction button on the Shokz app? I've had a look but can't find it.

Does regional variation exist between Australian cities and states when using "there is" vs "there are"?

I've been watching Brooko Moves over in WA, and she consistently says "there is" when referring to more than one object. When I first heard it I thought it was an isolated case but she never says "there are". Is this common for WA? I've lived in Brisbane, Sydney, Canberra, Melbourne and have never (or rarely) heard it.

I fully admit this is an N=1 observation of a random youtuber, but thought I'd see if there's anything to it.

These are worth about $100 right?

Found a few in an old book. They are not in great condition. Just take them to the bank for their face value?

Who else is hearing "intrical" a lot these days? Including in formal settings.

I don't think it's a recognised word, but I'm hearing it so much these days it's becoming hard to ignore. Is this specific to certain regions/dialects? Is this how new words are born?

Correlation with smoking and maintenance crews (mowing)

I was parked this morning waiting to take my daughter to school and we were watching a crew unload their mowers getting ready to start mowing the overgrown verges around the area.

There were seven workers and every single one of them was smoking while setting up their mowers. I found this fascinating. I don't think I know of a single person in my family and friend circle that smokes, and here is a concentrated set of positive correlation between smoking and a particular job type.

Got me thinking: is it something about this particular job that appeals to smokers (maybe they can smoke whenever they want vs. working in an office building where you cannot smoke) OR is the mowing work so stressful they need to smoke to relieve stress?

When the cafe says they've "closed the coffee machine for the day".. what does it actually mean?

Living in Brissy, it can be tough to get a decent coffee after 2pm. I've often gone to cafes that are still open but they've "shut down their machine" already so no more coffee.

I know those commercial coffee machines are bigger and badder than the Breville I have at home, but they make it sound like the start-up procedure for an aluminium smelter due to the level of effort to get it going again. Cafe workers/owners: is it really that big of a deal? I'm just after a long black.

Pouring concrete path on a side slope

Hi, I'm wanting to pour a footpath (drawn in white) running parallel to a hedge. The grass slopes down to the hedges at about 20 degrees (side elevation in yellow).

Best way to tackle this? Should I cut a bit of dirt from the high side and fill on the low side, bit of gravel, then form it up with extra timber on the low (left) side?

Also related: will this kill the murraya trees? The path will be about 1m from the trunks.

Do you say "we need 10 tradies" or "we need 10 trades"?

Been meaning to ask this for ages. Since I did renovations years ago and I heard a guy say "we need 10 trades for this job". So I starting mentally listing types of trades: electrician, plumber, carpenter, etc, and thought to myself: this is a pretty simple job, why do we need 10 types of trades?!

Then I quickly came to realise he meant 10 tradespeople!! Or "tradies" as I've often called them.

Since that experience, I've heard more and more the use of "trades" to talk about the actual people, not the skill itself, as in: I'm going to learn a "trade".

To me: trade = the skill. Tradie = the person performing the skill.

Maybe it's a regional thing? I'm in Brissy.

What are some architecturally significant houses in Brisbane?

I love interesting houses. When I say architecturally "significant", I don't necessarily mean the biggest, most expensive houses (although they can also interesting), but ones that have become landmarks for breaking away from the norm and are well executed. I know this can be very subjective but I'm open minded and get enthused by others' enthusiasm.

All styles can be interesting to me. Queenslanders, Mid Century, farmhouse, contemporary... the list goes on.

Also it doesn't necessarily need to be well known or heritage listed. Just something your find interesting architecturally.
