I'm currently in a sexting situation with a friend. We're both single adults in our 30s, and everything is completely consensual.

The thing is, I'm not particularly comfortable sending nudes or videos of myself.

Recently, he sent me a very explicit nude. Instead of replying with a nude of my own, I responded with something along the lines of:

In a situation like this, what do you actually prefer?

A straightforward exchange of photos and videos, or a genuine expression of desire, attraction, and fantasy?

In other words, when there's real chemistry, does a message that clearly communicates desire have more impact than receiving another nude? Or does it depend entirely on the person?
