Brazil is, I think, Terry Gilliam at his peak, a beautiful, dystopian fever-dream of a movie.

Earthman, your Mickey Mouse is one big stupid dope

For some reason, HBO used to show this constantly. We didn't have cable, but my dad bought an antenna with a descrambler so we could get free HBO. I wouldn't say I loved this movie, but I watched it because, well, it was on.

Flash! A-ah! Savior of the Universe!

As soon as that bassline starts, you can't help but get energized. I was probably at just the right age for this movie, probably 9 or 10, but Queen really rocked it.

I entered a county fair this year!

I thought it might be fun to try and the extra baking I did leading up to the event really help me improve as a baker.

I'm zero for six trying to grow autoflowers. Props to you guys, but I'm old enough to know when I'm beat haha.

I bought 6 seeds last year to try and grow autoflowers after I built a small greenhouse. I live on the foggy damp coast and I built the greenhouse mainly for tomatoes which are difficult here.

The first 3 seeds I planted in April last year did ok and then got bud rot a few weeks before finishing. I started two more after adding fan ventilation but with the same result.

I had one more seed to try this year and after cleaning and disinfecting the greenhouse this spring and upping the fan circulation, I planted my last seed. I was very proactive with spraying, mainly peroxide, Monterey disease control, and aspirin. Everything was going great until a couple weeks ago when I got a couple yellow fan leaves. People said to feed it which I did. Then this last week I got a ton of yellow leaves and I could tell it was rot because they were all mushy when I pulled them out. Today I could see the fuzzy ball of rot.

The kicker for all this is that when I was a kid in the 80s, we grew pot on my friend's roof and never did anything except water it once in a while when we remembered. Anyway, I will focus on my tomatoes I think and try not to fuck those up. Big thanks to all the people that gave me advice on here over the last year, I really appreciate it!

First leaf has spots

I took a cutting from a friend's plant a while ago and had it in a cup of water for a few weeks until it grew roots. I put it in some well draining soil and after a couple weeks it busted out this new leaf two days ago. Should I be concerned about the spots on the leaf? Thank you!

Credit took a dive after I paid off the balance on my mortgage a couple months ago

About two months ago I decided to pay off what was left on my mortgage about a year early (50k balance). Since then, my credit has been taking a mode nose dive. I have two credit cards. One I use for all my monthly purchasing and pay off each month. The other one is from my bank and I almost never use it, since I don't get cash back. I don't have any debt. Should I start using the other card for a small purchase each month? Or should I just not worry about it? I'm concerned if my score will continue to plummet each month.

Big leaves started turning yellow over the last couple days

I'm not sure if this is serious but some of the biggest leaves started to fade to yellow over the last couple days. This plant is about 7 weeks in. I don't see any pests or diseases. It's being grown in a small greenhouse on the foggy coast. This is my last seed. I grew a few last year and had a big problem with pests and then bud rot and got zero harvest. I changed the greenhouse, upgraded the airflow and have tried to be proactive about pests/disease. The soil is miracle grow and I have not done any additional feeding. I had some fancier soil I used last year, but I just had this stuff lying around. Should I be panicking?

What should I do with this Monterey pear?

I'm going to put it in the ground, but should I prune it and/or use spreaders to open it up? It's all very tight vertically, possibly from being stuck in with many other fruit trees at the back of the nursery for a couple years.
