Will this fry my GPU or should I switch my PSU to Corsair

I’m considering returning my PSU due to cable connection compatibility.

The parts in question:
- XFX Swift 9070 oc
- Montech Century II 850w
- Corsair 12v 2x6

The GPU has an 8 pin connection and I have one slot available for PCIe but it’s going to be pigtailed. The Montech did come with the 12v 2x6 connection but it does not have the 8pin on the GPU side. I purchased a Corsair cable to replace, but now I’m worried about mixing cable brands from the PSU.
- The last picture is the gpu installed using the Montech pigtailed cable with a white cable extender.

Should I return and get a Corsair PSU that includes the exact cable I need? To keep it all the same from the manufacturer. I can return the additional cable I bought yesterday as well.
- the only reason I went with the Montech was bc it was on sale. Maybe I should’ve just stuck with all Corsair.

Basically, I want to ensure I don’t fry my GPU.

EDIT: Returned the Montech and the additional cable and went with the Corsair PSU instead that has the proper connector to the GPU.

Hit a snag during my first PC build - need advice on PSU and GPU cable/setup

Ready for my very first build!

I’m finally making the switch from Xbox and this is my first ever PC build. I chose mostly Corsair as I already have a keyboard (K55) and mouse (M65) and I’ve enjoyed their stuff over the years.

I think the biggest challenge will be getting all the fans working properly with iCue since the fans/cooler are not linked, but (hopefully) that’s what the Commander Duo will handle. Any advice is appreciated!

I’ll be pairing the Ryzen 7 9700x with an XFX 9070. It’s an all-white build so she’s gonna be icy 🥶

I’m going to be swapping some parts here shortly:

- grips
- pedals
- saddle

Any recommendations welcome!

Another haul for my collection

Went back to my local Ross today and snagged these two Rockies jerseys. The pinstripes (authentic) was a great deal at only $34.99. This might start to become a problem… 🥲

36 [CO] Soft Masc looking for a femme connection

Hi! I'm a 36 year old soft/sporty-ish masc lesbian living in northern Colorado. I'm ultimately looking for a long-term relationship, but I'm not trying to rush things. A solid connection first is super important to me. I prefer more femme-leaning women and would like to stay within -/+ 5 years of my age. I'd like to meet someone in the area but open to long distance.

About me:

  • Looks: 5'6", thick/muscular build (I can pick you up!), shoulder-length curly brown hair, hazel eyes. Tbh, I'm average looking, but I don't think I'm particularly ugly. I have a few tattoos and my nose is pierced. I dress sporty/preppy and I love a good backwards hat.
  • Education: I'm college educated and currently in grad school. I'd prefer someone who is at a similar education level.
  • Likes: cats, little adventures/roadtrips, musical theatre, live music, movies, long talks/yap sessions, trivia, sports!
  • Hobbies: gaming, music (I'm a multi-instrumentalist), all types of activities with friends, tinkering (I like customizing knives and I'm currently in the process of building a PC), golfing, and I love collecting hats and shoes.
  • There's so much more to me but we'll start there!

If that sounds interesting to you, send me a DM and we'll see where it goes.

Today’s Ross find!

Adding to my collection, a 2024 Guardians blank for $19.99 at Ross. I also saw a Nationals jersey with a fully-stitched sleeve patch, and a 2023 Braves city connect, also full stitching.

New to PC gaming, need some advice on build lists

I'm an Xbox gamer looking to make the switch to PC.

  • New build or upgrade? New
  • Existing parts/monitors to reuse? Already have 4k monitor
  • PC purpose? Gaming: BF6, B07, Fortnite, DBD, Far Cry
  • Purchase country? Near Micro Center? US, near Micro Center
  • Monitors needed? No
  • Budget range? preferably ~$1500, willing to go up to $1700
  • WiFi or wired connection? WiFi
  • Size/noise constraints? None
  • Color/lighting preferences? RBG, prefer white build (white case for sure)
  • Any other specific needs? Looking for a setup to handle the games I'm into without much difference going from Xbox Series X.

I have a few lists so far with some slight variances and I'm hoping someone can tell me if what I've selected can handle the games I want to play or if there are other suggestions within my budget. Or if any of this makes sense.
