Am I the only one?

So I've been trying to transition to boxer briefs for a few months now, coming from over 30+ years of cotton knit standard boxers like Hanes and FOTL, not the old school droopy bottom looking ones. Recently got a few pairs of bamboo viscose Expertofitio from Amazon and these have been pretty nice, have gotton rid of all my old cotton... But due to getting more active in my late 40's, (running 5k races and longish distance hiking, 10-15 miles), I've been exploring boxer briefs.... But having issues. So for reference Im about 155 lbs, 31-32 inch waist, thin build, grower not shower (4-7 inch), low hanging berries, not high and tight... Been wearing Medium for years.

1st try was Rustler brand from Walmart, polyester- just horrible, no pouch, way too constricting, they would almost funnel my berries back between my thighs to the taint area, legs rode up something terrible, so uncomfortable! Only thing good was the Medium waist fit

2nd was Bamboo Cool from Amazon, pouch was well, strange, would start out good, but just 15 minutes and the berries were again either being funneled back to taint, or falling out and going down leg, legs would ride up worse than standard boxers, and waist band pulled up over belly button. Medium felt like Large, just loose everywhere, could almost wear these as standard boxers if the waist band was snugger and the pouch was right.

3rd, Hanes X-temp with total support pouch long leg, polyester, these are better, but need improvement. Legs and waist fit good, legs dont seem to ride up, waist sits about 1-2 inch below belly button with just the right amount of tension around, just about right. Pouch is a little smallish and too high and mesh bumpers, wings, whatever you call them, were kinda not wide enough allowing the twig or berries to occasionally fall out, and where they come to a V just below the sack could get uncomfortable at times, also on car rides or sitting times they felt tight under the sack area creating discomfort. When i say pouch is too high, my low hangers weight will eventually pull the front waist band down.

4th, Separatec Independent pouch (NOT dual-pouch), micro-modal, pouch is better on these, inner pouch wings are better on these, although they could go all the way up to the waist band like the Hanes do. Waist band is a little loose and low sitting (for me) and slippery feeling easily moves around, pouch is about the correct size but still too high, again pulling waistband down too low. Legs could be a tad snugger fitting, maybe I need to try a size Small? Also still get the discomfort at the taint sack connection point on car rides or couch time.

So it seems to me all these pouches want to hold you "high and tight" so to speak. With low rise waist bands about 3-4 inches below the belly botton....

Is there any options out there that offer the following;

- waist band that sits just below belly botton to 1 inch below, ya know, not way down on my hips

- pouch that offers a more natural droop, not high and tight, without pulling the waist band down below my pants and belt. I wear mens pants, work pants, not low rise skinny jeans..... Relaxed fit, boot cut legs, you get the idea, room in the crotch region.

- Medium that fits more like a medium (hanes are the only ones that medium feels right, all others I'll probably try small, but im worried if the pouch will be even worse and pulling the waist band even lower.

- all this without spending $20 - $30 a pair,

All the pair i look at, RMAC, KRAKOTA, etc, all look to be low rise and $20+ per pair, these are NOT for me. I have a family to support and we're a single income house.

I guess what I'm asking for is leg support, for running and hiking, but with a lower pouch that allows a more natural droop instead of high and showy, but still gives that ball/leg seperation during active times.

Im an heavy equipment mechanic, so im constantly moving around, and after a day of work with a high pouch, i kinda feel like a got kicked in the.... I like to hang low like the male body was designed to, but just want the separation aspect.

Does anything exist that isnt totally custom or $$$

Help with fit sizing for DOWNHILL

Nowhere to try on close, so I ordered 2 pair of Altra Lone Peak 9+ to try, so considering 20 - 30 lbs pack weight, and steep downhill descents, going by these pictures attached, how much toe room would you prefer? The 10.5 give me a finger width. The 11 give me a thumb width.

This is on my longer foot (right), and the longest toe (big toe).

Both feel good otherwise, thought about going for the wide for my fallen arches, but didn't want them sloppy either...

I know Altra has a 30 day trial and return, but I'd feel bad about running on dirt roads or hiking in them and returning, so I'm trying to decide strictly walking around my house.

Any thoughts on this? Mostly for the downhill (like Grand Canyon type downhill), not looking for black toe...

So do the 10.5 give me enough space (with proper heel lock lacing) or should I keep the 11.

Seems dumb to ask, but this is my first trail running type hiking shoe with an upcoming big trip so trying to get the best fit. Previously worn mid to high-top type leather hiking boots like Merrell, Keen or old military boots.

Weather late May

Only a couple weeks and my family will be doing a R2R with an overnight stay at Cottonwood. Start Sk on May 27th, finish NK on the 28th.

What should we expect for the weather conditions and what to pack?

1.) South rim SK trailhead approx. 4am

2.) Camping at Cottonwood

3.) North Rim NK trailhead, not sure on time, when we get there.... Our shuttle pickup is like 645pm i think....

Been carrying a Ruger Security 380 OWB for the last 2+ years and have a full size IWI Masada at home for my range gun and night stand. Getting an itch to try something new, what's y'all's thoughts, P-365x or Masada Slim Elite? Also considering trying Aiwb, possibly.

Was looking for the Masada slim, but dont find it anywhere, i guess the Elite has made it obsolete....

I'm just not an optic guy, sorry, so thats not a major concern of mine.

Wife just recently picked up a p365, so I know how that feels, but no one around has the Masada slim elite to fondle...

New to lone peaks need help?

I tried on a pair of lone peak 9 in store recently size 11, felt good on foot but store was about to close so didn't have much time not even to walk around...

Found on Amazon lp9 is $145, found lp8 for $99. Would probably order a 10 1/2 and an 11 to see what fits best. Is there much difference between the lp8 and lp9 I should be aware of, since I've already tried on the lp9 very briefly.

Also considering lp9 Plus.

Thanks
