North Face Borealis is a decent bag but has awful padding and is uncomfortable on the shoulders, any similar/comparable backpacks with better padding?

Visited Reddit links not appearing purple again

Annoying problem that somehow manages to reappear annually. The usual fix with the Partition flags thing isn't even an option in my flags anymore, not sure what to do next. It was working fine a few days ago, idk what caused it. Is it just me ?

First night no weed...me and my friend are going sober at the same time

Not gonna lie, if it was just me, I probably would have picked something up earlier today. Anyway its late so everything is closed now...no options for me left.

I kinda made this post to remind others, weed is not as good as you think it is. This past week I really put it to the test, doing stuff like watching anime and eating chips, I would think oh perfect, I should get high and do this. And then I get high and realize wow its really... not that much better.

Then yesterday my friend and I smoked a lot...and I can definitely appreciate it more in a social interaction but a few hours later we completely crashed. 2x infused joints and a normal joint later. I usually fall asleep at like 4am and I slept at 11pm! This shit has fucked up my normal life aspects I know I need to stay strong.

Good luck to all of you. Be better today

IsItBullshit: College/Uni in 2026 is worthless?

Clickbait title because it obviously isn't 100% worthless but I keep reading this over and over...and the ones who do say anything positive insist on networking. By networking they mean finding powerful people and being a kiss ass so they can eventually hire you somewhere down the line. I don't want to do that but it seems like I have to.

I am mostly curious about recent grads 2023/24/25/26, I myself have about 2.5 years left. A lot of people are saying STEM and ComSci are in a really bad spot right now, I am in business and it doesn't feel great but at least I can larp as a business owner. What do you think?

How to break out of the "youngest child" syndrome? How to get first born bread winner mentality?

So I have noticed that some of the most independent and people with motion tend to be first borns. Strange to say but it feels like they are able to make their own decisions much easier, more naturally. I am a youngest child of 3 and even in my twenties I still get treated like the kid and babied around by my family. Its very hard to break through this role, especially around my siblings as yk first borns naturally have that leading role. I find that I am too reliant on others for approval/validation, and the lack of being able to do things on my own, WITHOUT even thinking of telling or asking other people (my parents) first. I know the solution sounds easy that is why I am going to request only Non-First borns to respond, or at least First borns who maybe dealt with a similar issue and fixed it.

Tourist wanting to visit Muir Woods and Sausalito today

Hi SF! Late night I know, but tomorrow (today) I am planning on going across GG bridge, spending a few hours at Sausalito, and then going to Muir Woods.

I really want to go across the bridge but I am not sure if we should walk, bike, or drive. If you know any must-have restaurants in Sausalito please share! Also, is commuting from Sausalito to Muir Woods realistic and easy or is there some thing im missing? There is a lot of nuance here and I'd really appreciate locals helping me out, thank you!

edit: no car, staying between Brisbane and San Bruno.

new plan is to

Uber from here to Muir Woods. (We might take the train to downtown first and uber from there). 11am-3pm Muir Woods, then go to Sausilito until 6pm, and then Ferry back! Barrel House Tavern seems to be a nice spot as well, thoughts?

1st/2nd year harder than 3rd/4th year?

Hey I saw this around a few times now, that people tend to struggle more in 1st/2nd year than 3rd/4th year because the courses are a bit all over the place and you end up doing things you have no interest in, while 3rd/4th year you have a much stronger focus and interesting interactive courses that give you a bit of a mental release. I heard of this mostly from Commerce students but what do you think? Did you find its actually the opposite or what?

I'm in Commerce so not the hardest thing, just draining, boring, repetitive, but nothing crazy. I'd love it if it goes differently in 3rd/4th year.

Bittersweet about the idea of Yugoslavia in 2026?

God forgive me since I am Croatian and too young to understand the horrors of it all but the "ideal" Yugoslavia would have been such a strong/different country nowadays...yk obviously without all the corruption, war criminals, and power hungry idiots. Nationalism and religious zealots...it all seems so avoidable now.

Europe itself would really benefit from having another big country that is independent and self sustainable, separate from the total Western or total Russian way. The mass migration because of the 90s war also wouldn't have happened, I am sure many of you reading this would have completely different lives back in a thriving Yugoslavia instead of where your family relocated.

Strong economy, strong sectors (you just know we would have a crazy tech industry), best culture in Europe...it is a real shame that this fantasy is gone. The sport team is also often mentioned but it is true that they would probably have a World Cup among a huge variety of world class athletes across all sports, so many role models and global recognition.

Is that what this sub is for? A yearning for something that will never come?

Started smoking tHC for eating + sleeping, now both suck and i still smoke

I got the beautiful combination of skinny and insomniac, so naturally when I first started to smoke it felt like I could eat anything and sleep whenever. Its been a few years now of almost daily use (had some dry streaks, typically 1 Summer month for vacation) and whenever I come back home I can't help it

I smoke before a big meal, and around night time, even though I have been doing this for years my eating and sleeping is still so bad! Now I have a weed "addiction"/reliance, but really its what gets me through most days, I kinda hate where I actually live but I am stuck here for a bit so it is really difficult to change these habits, especially when the rest of my life stays the same.

My question is, anyone with a similar story, how did you ween off? I try not smoking before my dinner, but then eating it flat out doesn't taste as good and I tend to eat less. Other nights I go sober all day but when it comes to sleep, I know I will be lying in bed for hours wide awake unless I smoke or take something. Really it feels like a long, tedious process to undo, any advice?

PC is where I play games, and PC is also where all my productive outlets are

Anyone else have this problem? The same device is my entertainment system but also my work, school, learning system. It feels like to make any progress in my life i have to use my PC to learn it, research it, apply, whatever, but also to make any progress I need to STOP using my PC completely. It also feels strange to avoid Video Games and time wasting sites like Reddit/Youtube, like I have unused "fun" time and Idk what to do with it

IWTL how to stop using PC so much?

My PC is where I need to go in order to be "productive" or move forward in life (to study, to learn, read, research, apply, volunteer, anything), but as soon as I get on, its not long before I end up scrolling reddit, or youtube, or playing some games. I tried blocking these things, or uninstalling the games, but I just find another thing/website to waste time on.

How do I treat my PC as a "work space" instead of entertainment system? Or even, for those who used a PC for most of their life, how do you cut back on the fun of it? I feel I had smartphone brain before it was even a thing lol

I've been struggling with this for a while, because I need my PC for the important things while I know avoiding my PC completely would do me a world of good. Do you know what I mean? The one thing holding me back is also the same thing I need to to move forward.

ACCOUNTING MIDTERM 1AA3

Any tips? I think it is all MC but the shit that really gets past me is the ASPE and IFRS stuff, but it doesn't seem that major? Like maybe a few questions here or there. The textbook HW is pretty light too, is the midterm anything like that?
