Thoughts on this 🤔

After Kejriwal’s repeated requests to other politicians, do you think any of them will actually show up?

Was I being dismissed, or am I reading too much into this

Today I was playing badminton with a friend when another friend came over looking anxious. He told my friend that one of his classmates had sent him an Instagram message saying, "Teri didi maal hai," in a sexual way. He was angry and wanted to confront the guy, but he was also worried because the other guy apparently has a lot of people backing him. So they immediately started calling others, gathering information about the guy, and trying to get people on their side.

I was mostly standing there, confused, until I asked what had actually happened.

Later, the three of us went for a bike ride, and they kept talking about the same issue. When we stopped, I spoke to him one-on-one and suggested, "You have proof, and you're both young. Why not tell his parents?" He replied, "I don't want this reaching anyone's home."

I responded, "But it has already reached your home in a way. He made a sexual comment about your sister, so your family has already been dragged into this. Why not tell his parents what he's doing?"

After that, he didn't really respond to my point. He just said, "Yaar mujhe ghar jaana hai, baad mein baat karte hain," and left.

What I'm wondering is this: was my suggestion simply something he didn't want to hear, or was I being dismissed because my opinion doesn't carry much weight in the group?

Has anyone else experienced something similar where you couldn't tell whether you were being ignored personally or whether people were just too emotionally invested in their own approach?

I couldn't tell if I was being ignored or if the situation was just too heated?

Today I was playing badminton with a friend when another friend rushed over looking angry. He had received an Instagram message from one of his classmates who had made a sexually disrespectful comment about his sister.

Within seconds, my friend and the others started making calls, gathering information about the guy, and trying to contact people who knew him. I was just standing there, trying to understand what had happened.

Later, the three of us went for a bike ride, and the entire conversation was still about the same incident. When we stopped, I spoke to him privately and suggested that since he had proof, informing the other guy's parents might be a better option than escalating things.

He said he didn't want to involve anyone's family. I replied that the issue had already crossed that line because the comment was directed at his sister. Before I could say anything else, he simply said, "I have to go. We'll talk later," and left.

The whole interaction left me confused. I couldn't figure out whether he ignored my suggestion because he had already made up his mind, or whether my opinion just didn't matter in that moment. It's one of those situations that keeps replaying in my head because I genuinely can't tell which it was.
