I like the sound of finger picking, and most finger picking parts i play i can manage to do on pick, but it sounds like, well, a pick.

are there any types of picks that could enulate the tone of finger picking?

Ive been playing guitar for a while, i write music but i mostly play rythm guitar, because i can't play lead well yet. but when i look at math rock goats it seems a lot of them have either been playing for like 30 yrs or went to berkely. I want to go into engineering, but if I want to achieve the sound of my inspirations, is music school NECESSARY? How do I get to that level without going to music school?

I need help finding a good watch for me

I need it to have:

- step tracker

- mile tracker (daily)

- time of day

- truly good battery life

i dont want to spend like a million bucks on a watch but i dont mind spending for better battery life, i really just need a incredibly basic watch that does those things

I genuinely have no clue how to word the title of this post but i have a question

If i apply for a college senior year of hs, get accepted, DON'T go there, and then apply to transfer as a incoming junior, are chances of admissions hurt? I'd like to know before I apply to a college that I would definitely want to transfer to but don't know if I want to go as a first year. Anything helps.

So, ever since I was a kid I've loved to hike and camp but oh my god am i just terrified of getting ticks on me and getting some sort of illness or something else.

My question is how do i completely eliminate even the concept of getting ticks. Not like "tuck your pants in your socks and wear long sleeve white clothes so you can see them traveling on the outside. I mean like if they even attempted to climb me they die, or some other thing that has an 100% chance of me not even seeing a tick on my body or clothes. Ill do whatever it takes because i am just genuinely way too terrified of getting ticks. Ik i sound like a wuss but you gotta do what you gotta do.

I am currently a Junior in highschool with a 24 ACT and a 3.59 weighted and a 3.52 unweighted. I have a large upward trend, as I got a 3.19 freshman and 3.31 sophmore, but this year I got a 4.43, but only took my first AP. Next year, I am taking AP Chem, Euro, Precal (ik its useless), and then some honors (engine design, physics, and 3d cad sem 2), and then my other 2 classes english and religion (mandatory) are normal college prep classes

Do I have any chance of even considering applying to this school for STEM, or should I just wait to transfer and apply later on. Feels pretty hopeless if I dont get a crazy high ACT somehow or like win a nobel peace prize because of how far behind I am.

So I have been infatuated by a band called Origami Angel, and their guitar setup, as they use 'A Little Thunder' pickups in order to emulate a bass players sound, which it does really well and is mean for that kind of thing.

I was wondering if you guys have an answer or a comparison as to which would be better or favorable considering cost aswell as sound.

Hello UVM students, I'm thinking of applying to uvm and going there fall 2027.I play guitar and love emo music, and was wondering how the emo scene is at UVM, as I would like to start a band and have some sort of community. Any info?
