Samsung s25 youtube/netflix micro-stutters
Hello
I'm having an issue ever since I bought this phone where, unless I'm touching the screen, it will periodically micro-stutter every 3–10 seconds when watching YouTube and Netflix.
I took the phone back to where I bought it, and it seems the issue was present on two other Samsung phones, an S24 Ultra and S25. I used Netflix on all three different phones, and the issue was present on all of them.
I've been going back and forth with customer support for 3 months now. At first, they said they would send this report to the development department, and after 15 days, they told me it's Variable Refresh Rate causing it (they admit it) and that it's intended behaviour. As in, stuttering is expected.
I kept asking them to clarify if what I'm hearing is correct. That the stuttering caused by another feature of the phone is expected. They said yes multiple times.
So basically Variable Refresh Rate is misbehaving when media is being played, causing periodic micro-stuttering.(Unless my finger is touching the screen) Anyone would reasonably assume this is a bug because not once in my life have I heard of a phone intentionally having a feature that causes stuttering.
Anyone have any recourse to what I can do next?As reporting the issue to the actual people who made the phone doesn't seem to bring any meaningful results.
I live in the EU.
