[App] Savr - A free and open source bookmark manager app! New updates

Hey everyone! 👋

I’ve been working on an open-source bookmark manager with one main goal: keep it simple, fast, and actually useful.

After taking a short break, I’m back and just pushed a new update with several improvements:

✨ What’s new

->🖤 AMOLED theme added

->✏️ Edit bookmarks

->🔄 In-app updates — if you downloaded the app from a GitHub Release, you can now get notified about new releases directly in the app

->📤 Quick share — save a bookmark directly from other apps without opening the app

->🐛 Various minor bug fixes and improvements

And there’s more to come.

I’m planning to keep improving the app and pushing new updates regularly.

The project is open source, so if you're interested, feel free to check it out, try it, and let me know what you think. Feedback and suggestions are always welcome! ❤️

Github release: https://github.com/qeiq/Savr/releases

playstore: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zarnth.savr

Playstore version will take some times to get latest relases.. so i would suggest download from github relases

i'm struggling to choose a backend stack and career direction

i've been doing android development for about 1.5 year. i started as a hobby and have built quite a few projects since then.

i have an app on the play store with paying subscribers, so it makes a little money, and i very recently open sourced another project that i'm actively maintaining.

repo : https://www.github.com/qeiq/Savr

the thing i'm struggling with now is choosing a direction.

i don't know if backend is even the right choice for me. i like the idea because i don't want to spend all of my time only building android apps. i'd love to be able to build an entire product myself and understand how everything works behind the scenes.

the problem is that everyone seems to recommend something different.

some people tell me to learn spring boot because that's what companies hire for. others say go is the future and is great for startups. then there are people saying typescript with node is the best choice because you can use it everywhere.

i've already played around with backend. i've used mysql, postgresql, flask, and built a few apis with go, so i'm not starting from zero. i'm just struggling to decide what to commit to.

my goal isn't to chase the highest paying language or the latest trend. i want to become a good engineer who can actually solve problems, understand systems, and build useful things. i want to develop strong fundamentals that will still matter even if the tech stack changes.

i've never had a software job, so i don't have the experience to know what actually matters in the real world.

if you were in my position, what would you focus on?

would you pick a backend stack and stick with it for a few years? does the language matter that much, or should i focus more on software design, databases, networking, system design, and problem solving?

how did you figure out which path was right for you instead of constantly second guessing your choices?

Does anyone have idea about BuyMeACoffee for getting donations?

So I am working on an app. It got a good response from the community. I got 50+ stars within 2 days of posting on Reddit. Currently, it has 61 stars. I haven't pushed a new release or update yet. Then I will be posting more about the app. Currently, I am working on it, but I have a plan to get donations. Do you have any ideas about Buy Me a Coffee? I heard that I can't withdraw money from Bangladesh. If I create an account in Bangladesh, can I withdraw to my cousin's account in Germany? Or do I have to create an account through him in Germany? Or do you have any alternatives to take donations? Because I don't have a GitHub sponsor badge yet.
