What wax to use for rewaxing every 500kms after first time immersion wax on new chain?

Bought new factory kmc x9 chain and immersion waxed it at shop.

I want to know now what to do for maintenance and aftercare?

What do i need to get now for home maintenance or do i need to go to shop every 500kms?

Will reopening the kmc chain every 500 kms not stretch and loosen it at quicklinks?

Is this original kmc x9 chain?

It is in a plastic packet instead of usual blue box. In a premium bike shop. They are saying it comes in both kinds of packaging.

Can I buy this?

Should I buy this used bike? Seized by bank, no owner Aadhaar, seller claims "RTO contacts" can transfer ownership.

Hey everyone,
I need some urgent advice on a second-hand bike deal. The bike is in great physical condition, but the paperwork situation is highly unusual and complex.
Here is the backstory:

**The Background:** The original RC card holder is a financially struggling person who defaulted on his bank loan. The bank seized the bike because of the non-payment.
**The Current Seller:** The guy currently selling the bike claims he bought it directly from a bank auction.
**The Paperwork Issue:** The bike was never officially transferred out of the original owner's name. The current seller does not have the original owner's Aadhaar card, phone number, or any other KYC details. However, he *does* have the physical original RC card.
**The Seller's Claim:** He insists that ownership transfer won't be an issue because he has "contacts inside the RTO" who can transfer it and and get it done.
**The Owner's Side:** I managed to track down the original RC holder's phone number through police records and called him myself. He confirmed the story-he confirmed the bank seized his bike due to the loan default.
I am really confused and torn. The bike itself is in excellent shape, but the lack of official bank auction papers and the situation feels like a massive red flag.
**I am specifically worried about the legal and financial risks here:**
**Hidden Loan Liability:** If the bank auction wasn't fully processed, or if the current seller is lying, could the bank still legally repossess the bike from me to clear the remaining debt?
**The "RTO Contacts" Risk:** Relying on back-channel RTO contacts to bypass Aadhaar/KYC sounds highly illegal. If the transfer is flagged as fraudulent later, can my registration be cancelled, or worse, can I face legal charges?
**Police/Criminal Liability:** Since I am buying a vehicle whose official paperwork does not match the seller, could I be stopped by police or accused of riding a stolen/illegal vehicle?
**Insurance Issues:** I dont know if i can legitimately transfer the RC into my name, or if I won't be able to get valid insurance. What will be the situation?

Is it legally safe to buy a bike under these conditions? What are the exact risks if the original owner's loan is technically still active or unpaid in the bank's system?
Would love to hear from anyone who has dealt with bank-auctioned vehicles or similar situation while buying used bike. Should I walk away or is there a legitimate way to fix this paperwork?

Thanks in advance!

How to apply drip wax lube on my brand new KMC x9 chain ?

New to this sport..

if i will purchase a new kmc x9 chain for my roadbike that I purchased second hand and had a worn out chain, and I intend to apply drip wax lube on the new chain. what should I do after installing the chain on my roadbike?
Do i need to degrease the cassette, rear derailleur pulley and the front chainring teeth grease?

many places say that we need to strip off the factory grease from the chain by using a degreaser on the new chain, before use, wash it and then apply the drip wax lube.

or do i need to apply the drip wax lube directly over the fresh chain before the first ride?

i would really appreciate if you could tell me step by step what needs to be done including the waiting time..

do we need to wipe off our chain after waxing, after each ride?

i only have flat pedals with metal pins now on my roadbike. can you please suggest what shoes to use with it?

i have been using my running shoes, but it is getting ruined now due to the cycling motion, the sole is coming out and it is wearing out.

I was thinking of having a cheap dedicated cycling shoes, but not sure if i should invest on clipless pedals yet.. since i just bought my roadbike.

Do road bikes with sealed cartridge hubs & bottom brackets actually need a “full bearing service”?

I own a road bike that uses Formula Team II CL Disc front and rear hubs with sealed cartridge bearings, along with a Shimano BB-RS500 Press Fit bottom bracket (sealed cartridge) like in various brands such as Trek, Scott etc..

Many bicycle service shops offer a “full service” package where they claim they’ll completely service and re-grease all the bearings on the bike.
My question is: does that actually make sense for bikes with sealed cartridge bearings?

From what I understand, sealed cartridge bearings aren’t designed to be opened up for cleaning and re-greasing. Opening them could introduce dust or contamination, and they’re generally intended to be replaced once they develop roughness, play, or start creaking.

So for people with road bikes like Treks, Scott addict, speedsters that use sealed cartridge hubs and bottom brackets:
Is a full bearing service actually beneficial?

Or is it only supposed to be inspected and replace them when necessary?

What is the recommended maintenance and care routine for sealed cartridge hubs and bottom brackets? Apart from avoiding pressure washing and keeping the bike clean, is there anything else owners should be doing?

Are these components essentially “ride until they show symptoms” parts, or is there a recommended mileage or time interval after which the bearings should be proactively replaced, even if they still feel smooth?
I’d appreciate hearing from experienced folks.
I’m trying to understand whether these comprehensive service packages actually provide value for bikes with sealed bearing systems, or whether replacement on condition is the correct maintenance approach.

what tyre should i get for my front wheel? Rear uses conti ultrasport 3 but the shops say it is banned now.

i want something which is similar to the conti ultrasport 3 that i have in my rear already.
For my Roadbike

One shop says they can get me a pair of conti ultrasport 3,

Another shop says they can get me single piece Vittoria zaphiro and rubino for the front.

what should i do? should i place order for pair of conti ultrasport 3 or should i fit a single piece vittoria zaphiro or rubino along with my rear conti?

if yes for vittoria then which model will be better and also similar to ultrasport 3?
