Needed a space to work from home! Ordered a soundproof office pod… AMA ➡️➡️

My youngest took over my 3rd bedroom (previous home office), and instead of pulling permits and building an addition - I decided to order one of these, assemble, and place in my garage.

Learned a lot about it. Summers here get quite warm, after 3PM it is about 80 degrees in the pod - which isn’t comfortable long term. Desk fans help, but cooling the garage or space above the pod near the intake fans is something I’m looking into. Also, garage insulation!

I really enjoy the isolation which helps me focus for work (and gaming). I’m sure in the fall/winter, this will continue to be an awesome spot.

Edit: adding some details for frequently asked questions
- CO2 is managed by exhaust and intake fans that continuously cycle air through
- cost was a little over 4k but could’ve been cheaper with less options/upgrades (US based supplier for same size is around 8-10k)
- DM me if you want more info on process, factory, or other questions

Anyone else unable to shake the Pride Night incident, and front office silence?

Been a Giants fan my entire life. I can put up with incompetence on the field, and mismanagement of players - but the lack of accountability and deafening silence from Buster and rest of the front office gives me pause.

Idk if I’m in the minority but it just seems out of touch for an organization in San Francisco to be nonchalant about it all.

Mods, delete if not allowed.

Doesn’t Valve have enough data to begin to ban even the most blatant cheaters?

Serious discussion - but it seems like through telemetry they can easily flag spinbotters, abnormal stats like time to damage, abnormal KD etc.

Yes, people say Valve does it in “waves” to avoid specific detection of bypasses being caught - but what the hell.

I don’t have a lot of cheaters in my trust factor or elo (I suck), but the volume of these posts daily is really annoying.

Small updates to r/E60

Hey everyone! Just wanted to share a few small changes we're making around the subreddit.

As the community has grown, we've started seeing more low-effort posts, bot submissions, reposts, and AI-generated content showing up. We've heard you and we're updating things to help cut down on these things while keeping things focused on the E60/E61 platform: owners sharing pics/vids of their cars, fixing things, asking questions, and helping each other out.

A few things we're working on:

  • Adding some basic community rules
  • Tightening up AutoModerator to help cut down on spam/bots
  • Removing/filtering obvious low-effort or recycled content
  • Improving the wiki/resources over time

Keep sharing your builds, repairs, problems, and random E60 stuff. That's what keeps this community going.

Thanks!

Noob question: when silent peeking/clearing, do you counter strafe before crouching sometimes?

I understand that not all peaks will be crouch peeks, but maybe for common angles to throw off enemy crosshair placement.

And I know that you’re not accurate with the first few bullets if you don’t counter strafe before crouching.

I’ve seen high-level players and it seems like they are not counter strafing. What do you do?

My aim_rush clip after 320 hours. How are my mechanics? Where to focus on improvement?

How would you best use 30-40 mins to improve if you can’t play 5v5?

Some nights I don’t have enough time to play a full game but want to spend time training/improving. How would you use 30-40 mins of time to be the most efficient

In house marketers, how are you actually using AI in your work? Anyone feeling behind?

Going beyond copilot summaries and drafts, what are ways you’re using AI in your flows today?

My company rolled out Claude code to marketers and people have really gotten ahead (and I’m feeling behind). Anyone else?
