Washington or Oregon or California but you love surfing as much as skiing?

Late 20s, single, remote job with decent flexibility and pay.

Hey I’m going to move out west at the end of summer. (from NJ, but don’t ski here I fly west) Where do you think is best to move given I have the freedom and current life situation to pick anywhere.

Just did a Cali trip and loved it and could easily see myself there. Thinking Norcal like Santa Cruz or SF. Surf is epic (crowded) but 4hr (without snow / traffic) to Tahoe means skiing is low frequency, sleeping in the car or hoping I make friends with someone with a house.

Socal has good surf too and Mammoth maybe beats Tahoe but an even longer drive.

I don’t mind cold water and the crowds in the water and out are one of the biggest negatives of California (along with COL) but PNW surfing is 1.5 hours from big enough metros with high chance of being skunked.

Washington I lile Olympa surfing westport +/- and ski Crsytal. Oregon is probably Portland, there are several surf spots on the coast in that area and skiing at Mt Hood. Each is a longer than you’d want drive but also def day tripable which is really nice.

Seems like there is meh to good when its good surf but compared to Cali obviously its a different game. Also Never been either state so there is other considerations too like the winter gloomyness.

Hows the skiing near those areas? My favorite resort is alta but if I move somewhere I can ski a lot more I would probably backcountry 50% of the time.

Last point is that my goal isn’t just a fun season or two I’m trying to pick where I want to live and make roots long term. Obviously can’t predict the future so whatever happens happens but its an important distinction. My priorities really are these activities I love but of course everything else that goes along with living in a place and trying to find my people matters too.

Fidelity / Elan Please Support Garmin Pay!

Hello can you please work to support Garmin Pay?

https://www.garmin.com/en-US/garminpay/banks/

Garmin makes many very popular wearable devices and mobile payment on a wearable is very convenient. I am sure it is not that difficult or costly to do so and Fidelity / the Elan Visa CC is supported by Apple and Android mobile wallets so I think it should be supported here too.

Please let me know it you can work to make this happen in the coming months, and other users if you also want this please share your support.

Thank you.

Is this crack fine?

Ignore the orange stuff on the underside, it's the reflection of my fingers that I decided to edit out.

This is a pretty new board, surfed it like 5 times. I noticed this small line crack on the tail. I am pretty sure it is under the glass, I can't feel it with my fingers or my nails. Also does not look like it took on water in the area.

Question still is should I do something about it, will it eventually be a problem, or do I just ignore and surf on?

I wana do a make a ton of the base components and ship them around the world run

Im to deep on my current save but if I reply I think it would be fun to try instead of having a factory make an end product start to finish to make factories that just make a shit load of 1 component or material types base components like iron for example with iron plates and rods.Make thousands of those and then any end product that needs it ship it there, and then make a bunch with that so any further end product that needs that mid end product I can ship it.

So just big high production base material factories and shipping it around the globe. I think it would be fun and it might even be simple and effective and nice u dont have to rebuild production chains a bunch of times.

Retrospace Demo

What did you think of the Retrospace demo?

I was really excited because of all the clips on here but I gave up after 45 min because every corridor looks the same and I kept getting lost and all I would do is die and try and get back to my body.

Idk maybe it's a good game and I just suck. I respect the passion of the devs and don't want to shit on it but I was disappointed.

SteamFrame instead of a TV for couch gaming?

I want to explain my planed use case for the SteamFrame and see what more experienced VR users think about it.

I love my PC but I definitely miss sitting on a comfy chair leaned back gaming on a big TV with a controller.

In my current setup I replicate this with a super long HDMI cable to a TV in a diffrent part of the room but the setup work of plugging in the cable, getting the game on the TV instead of my monitors makes me never want to do it. Also my TV image quality sucks compared to my monitors.

I want to get the SteamFrame since it can do all of this wirelessly so can just turn it on and have the game there, and use the mode where it replicates a giant screen in front of you.

I will try VR games / mods too but currently non of those games are that interesting to me so I predict I will mostly just play the games I like which don't have VR.

The problems I see with my plan are comfort and image quality. Comfort is self explanatory but image quality my monitors are high Quality High refresh rate 1440p IPS panels. Everything is super sharp, motion is great and colors are very good too. Would I be severely disappointed with the frames image quality? I am not sure how screen on face specs translate to traditional TVs and monitors.

Will it also be in the Steam summer sale?

This game is on my wishlist and I see it is on sale on Steam for a few more days but later this month the Steam summer sale will happen and I would like to know if No Rest For The Wicked will also be in the Steam summer sale.

Has anything official been said? If not does anyone recall if the game was in Steam seasonal sales if it was just on sale a few days before?

Tips to Get Back into DSP After a Long Break?

I haven't played my world in about a year. I want to play, but I login, look around a little like WTF was I doing, feel overwhelmed and logout.

I probably have like 20 hours or less of progress and if I played again I could probably do all that in 5 or 10. But I fear if I start over I will get to around the same point, eventually take a break and then be in the same position.

I could not start over but delete everything and then rebuild in a better way and figure what I was doing and what I need to do next in the process.

What ideas do you have? Have you ever been in this situation? Maybe you have a good goal to focus on, or a good mental framework for how you play this game or handle long breaks?

How do I fix a small almost no depth scratch?

Sorry for the extreme reflectiveness.

On the back of my car there is this little gray / white scratch. Not sure when or where it came from.

It has basically no depth. If you run your fingernail over it you can feel the difference between the non affected paint and this area but your finger does not go into it at all. Also if this area is wet it becomes invisible.

I tried just cleaning it but that did not work. I also tried ScratchX but that did nothing (at least by hand, maybe machine power is needed?)

I have a touchup paint kit but since this has no depth that is likely the wrong move from my understanding.

It is so minor I think it should be repairable but I am not sure what to do and don't feel like getting gaslit by AI.

thanks.

What do you think about reducers?

Hello I am about to purchase my first Moka Pot but not fully decided on a 3 or 6 cup.

I like the volume of liquid coffee a 6 cup gives you but I probably won’t always want to make that much coffee.

Obviously the solution is to get both but I don’t really want to right away. I found Moka Pot reducers like in my picture which would let me get the 6 cup but reduce the amount of coffee used when I want to.

I would like to know if the reducers work well or if overall they give a poor experience and are not worth using.

Thank you.
