Black textures issue on AMD GPU

Black textures issue on AMD GPU

Hi everyone,

I’m running into a weird issue where some textures are turning completely black or not loading properly. I’m using an AMD graphics card.

It’s not limited to character clothing or small assets, but whole areas of the map become visually broken.

I’ve already tried clearing the shader cache, but it didn’t solve the problem.

Has anyone experienced something similar or knows potential fixes?

First playthrough of Divinity Original Sin 2. Origin or custom character for story/RP focus?

Hi everyone,

I’m a big fan of Baldur’s Gate 3 and I’ve decided to finally try Divinity: Original Sin 2, hoping for a similarly deep and immersive story experience.

From what I’ve read here and in other threads, around 80% of people recommend playing an Origin character instead of a custom one. I understand there are gameplay and narrative reasons for this, but I’m still unsure what fits my priorities best.

My main focus is story immersion and role-playing.

On one hand, I feel like playing a custom character would let me truly “create my own identity” and make choices that feel more personal and meaningful, similar to how I approached BG3.

On the other hand, I’ve seen so many people recommend Origin characters that I assume there must be a strong narrative reason for it. Maybe they are more into the world? (If I were to choose among the Origin characters, the ones that intrigue me the most are Lohse and Fane)

My concern is that if I pick an Origin character, I might not fully feel like “it’s my character,” and that could reduce immersion for me rather than improve it.

So my question is:

For a first playthrough focused on story and role-play, what would you recommend? Origin or custom character? And why?

No spoilers please.

Thinking of buying Divinity: Original Sin 2 (BG3 fan here)

Hello everyone, Divinity: Original Sin 2 is currently on sale on Steam and I’m considering buying it.

I’ve previously played Baldur’s Gate 3, which has become one of my favorite games. I know I should try not to compare the two, even if it’s kind of inevitable probably.

From what I’ve heard, DOS2 might even have a better combat system, which I’m definitely interested in.

But what matters most to me is story and rpg system.

Are the story and the characters actually engaging and well written?

And most importantly: do player choices have real, meaningful consequences on the story (similar to BG3 or Mass Effect) or are they more like small variations in dialogue and minor changes like in Cyberpunk 2077?

I’m mainly looking for a game where my decisions genuinely shape how things unfold, not just flavor text changes.

Would love to hear your thoughts from people who’ve played it!

EDIT: In the bundle there is also the first Divinity game. Can I play it after the second one, or do I need to start with that one?

Looking for a singleplayer story-driven game

Hey everyone,

I’m looking for a singleplayer game that’s really focused on story and characters. Something immersive that can really pull me in.

My favorite games are:

  • Mass Effect trilogy
  • Baldur’s Gate 3
  • Expedition 33
  • The Witcher 3
  • The Last of Us 1-2

It doesn’t have to be an RPG specifically, but I usually prefer them. The most important thing is strong narrative and good pacing and ideally nothing too old.

Right now I was playing Final Fantasy VII Rebirth after finishing the Remake. I absolutely love the characters, music and visuals, but the pacing feels too slow for me. There are too many filler-like segments, random fights and long exploration sections that keep interrupting the main story. I had a similar feeling with the Remake, even though I still enjoyed it a lot. At the moment I just don’t feel like committing to another 40–50 hours of that structure, so I’ve decided to put it on hold for now.

So I’m basically looking for something more tightly paced and story-driven.

Any recommendations?

New Career Mode with the same Manager?

A few days ago I started my first ever Manager Career with Freiburg. Since it was my first Career Mode, I made a lot of mistakes while figuring out how everything worked and finding the right settings and sliders.

Now that I've got a better understanding of the mode, I'd like to start over with a team I like more and that's a bit smaller (Palermo in Serie B).

The only problem is that I spent a lot of time creating my manager's face. Is there any way to save it and reuse it in a new Career Mode or do I have to recreate it from scratch?

Post-match interviews are random

Why do the post-match interviews say things that are completely random and wrong?

I drew a match and they said I lost it. They also say completely random things about the players, like, "He intercepted 15 passes", when he had barely touched the ball.

This is my first Career Mode and I can't help but notice that things like this take away from the depth and authenticity of the mode. Was it really that hard to code it to be coherent?

Sliders/settings for my first Career Mode

This is my first ever Career Mode in FC 26 (and in any FC game). I picked Freiburg completely at random because it was a smaller club with a licensed stadium.

I recently discovered sliders and after trying to make a sort of average between several sets I found online, I'm having a really bad time. I'm playing on Legendary difficulty with Authentic gameplay (even though I've always been used to Competitive gameplay).

I spend about 80% of every match just trying to win the ball back because the AI constantly spams passes and mostly just keeps possession.

The players I'm not controlling have almost no positioning, they don't press and they rarely intercept anything. My own players feel incredibly slow, misplace passes way too often and it's extremely difficult to create chances or get into a good position to score.

I'm not a pro player, but I've never felt this bad at FC before. I think I probably messed up the sliders.

Do you guys have any recommendations? Would you mind sharing your slider settings? I'd love a Career Mode that feels realistic but also balanced.

If I lose because the other team is simply better, that's completely fine. If I lose because my own players have been nerfed by my settings, it just stops being enjoyable.

First Career Mode

Hi everyone.

I've decided to start my very first Career Mode.

The only knowledge I have comes from watching a few videos in the past years, so I don't really know how everything works. I'd love to get some advice before I start.

I'm not a pro player, but I'm good enough to enjoy playing on the highest difficulty. In general, I enjoy the game more when it's challenging.

I have a few questions:

  • Should I start with Live or Original Career?
  • Are there any important settings you recommend turning on or off? For example, should I use Competitive Gameplay or switch to the realistic one?
  • And probably the most important question: which club would you recommend?

In real life I'm an Inter fan, but I feel like starting with Inter would be too easy. I also thought about Inter Miami because I'm a Messi fan, but since they're outside Europe I'd miss out on competitions like the Champions League.

Do you have any suggestions for a fun and interesting first Career Mode?

Thanks in advance!

First time trying the Career Mode

Hi everyone.

I've basically only played Ultimate Team in FC over the years (and occasionally Pro Clubs with friends), but I've finally reached the point where I'm tired of it.

There's just too much toxicity and if you stop playing for a couple of months, your team becomes completely unusable. I'm currently in Division 3, but honestly I don't think the grind is worth my time anymore.

Kicked from Aether because I failed S2S

2 weeks ago, I completed and passed the assessment to get the Aether Generalist skill. I worked on the project for 2 weeks without any issues.

Two days ago, there were two new screenings, called S2S and MM Multilingual in the same Aether section.
After 3 (unpaid) hours, I failed them and I didn't just lose the access to the potential MM Multilingual Project, but also to my existing Aether project, even if I still have the skill for it.
If I access MM directly, the tasks are still avalaible, but on my Outlier dashboard the project is disabled.

I filled out the escalation form, but guess what. I haven't received any response or help.

In addition, I attended the (obviously unpaid) S2S webinar yesterday, but I still haven't been given a second chance. Also, I can no longer find the Outlier Community section where you can ask Daily question about your project issues. My past replies and notifications have disappeared.

I don't think I've ever had such a bad experience on a platform. Is anyone else experiencing the same issue?

S2S Quality Screener Language

During the test, is it possible to choose your preferred language or is it English only?

I can speak English, but it's not my native language and for this type of tasks I would be more comfortable using my own language.

Calling this “arcade” doesn’t fix the bad gameplay

I don’t understand people who leave a negative review for a game just because it had some issues at launch, something that happens often, but they’re probably people who have only played FC and therefore can’t know that.

Before leaving a negative review, I at least tried it for more than 10 hours.

The gameplay is terrible. The only “innovative” thing this game brings is not having real players, but randomly generated ones so you have different teams. Other than that, it’s a poorly made copy of FC.

The gameplay is identical, but worse. If you want to hide its many flaws behind the word “arcade”, go ahead, but the truth is that it’s badly made. The chip shot literally never works. Passing is the worst part; if you slightly overcharge it, it sends the ball to a completely different player far away, who is probably in the opposite direction of where you were aiming. Through balls don’t exist; they only go to the player’s feet and never into space.

If you have the ball and press L1 to trigger a run, the player just looks at you raising his hand, but doesn’t actually make any run, making it impossible to build any attacking play.

The defensive AI is embarrassing. Players literally stand still at best, or keep opponents onside at worst.

And if you happen to leave a free space and want to switch to another player who is a bit further away, you can’t do it. By the time the game lets you select him, the opponent has already scored.

I managed to reach Elite this week. You can do it too. You just have to hope, like me, that the opponent’s AI makes more mistakes than yours.

The model is identical to FC’s. It is based on buying packs, making the game pay-to-win before long.

Even trading is like FC’s SBCs, just less sensible because there is no real incentive to do them.

The modes are exactly the same as in FC, with an almost identical progression system, just with fewer of them.

If Goals had a completely different model and gameplay structure from its big brother FC (like in the case of Rematch), then fine. But if it enters the market with the exact same mentality, the comparison is inevitable and it becomes the ugly copy of FC (which is already pretty bad itself).

I’m sorry for those who defend this game, ignoring its obvious issues. You’re on the same level as those who leave a negative review just because it had some problems at launch.

Which pack should I buy?

Hi everyone, do you think it's worth spending the blue currency on packs or should I save it for player evolutions (or something else in general)?

If buying packs is the better option, which one would you recommend?

Should I give Elden Ring another chance?

Two years ago, I played my first Soulslike: Elden Ring.

I enjoyed it a bit, but mostly because of the challenge. The boss fights, world design, and exploration were incredible. However, I barely understood the story beyond the most obvious things. I probably know only 20% of the lore.

The problem is that I usually prefer story-driven games. Looking back, I think I approached Elden Ring with the wrong mindset. At the time, my conclusion was: "Great game, amazing gameplay, but there aren't really characters I can emotionally connect with or a story that keeps me invested." Because of that, I thought I'd never play another Soulslike, since I assumed the formula would eventually become repetitive for me.

But for some reason, these days, I've been intrigued by the idea of playing a second run of Elden Ring, even though I'm not fully convinced.

Through Steam Family Sharing, I also discovered that I have access to Elden Ring Nightreign and Dark Souls 3.

I tried Nightreign and uninstalled it after three matches. The matchmaking took around 10 minutes, teammates did their own thing and then leave after dying. Not really my kind of experience.

I haven't tried Dark Souls 3 yet. I'm not sure how well it has aged and I don't know whether I need to play the previous Dark Souls games to understand the lore. I'm also not very inclined to play much older titles, so I'm a bit hesitant.

So what would you recommend? Is it worth replaying Elden Ring from the beginning mainly for the story? Would I actually discover a lot more narrative content or would I end up with roughly the same understanding as my first playthrough and have to rely on Internet to get the full picture? I don't currently own Elden Ring anymore, so I'd have to buy it again specifically for this second playthrough.
