i'm sick of no one ever remembering me for anything

sun/mars/venus in 12th here. no one, and i mean no one, ever remembers me in any area of life (professional, social) and it's honestly been ridiculous the amount of times people forgot to call back after telling me they'll do so, forgot to mention the work i've done even though i spent hours doing something for a project, didn't invite me for a group outing, never suggest me to hang out at random, and so on. i'm always the one who has to reach out and remind them i exist for anything, or else i just lie in the abyss of everyone's mind i guess. the worst is that sometimes it will (understandably) get on my nerves and i'll call people out every now and then, but then they'll think it's no big deal or whatever and just wonder why i'm making a fuss. sometimes i legit want to just fuck off from society and live alone in some cabin in the moutains and maybe then all these people will start to wonder where i'm gone.

Why does everyone just forget i exist?

I feel like I just have negative presence or a power to nullify the will of other people to talk to me. Whether irl conversations or text messages. I reach out to people so much to inquire, share something or do a favor, but it's just almost never reciprocated.

  • Me and a friend will meet someone new, the new person is just gonna end up talking to my friend after some time and completely ignore me
  • X will say they'll reach back to me for something, ends up not reaching back
  • Z will randomly forget to do tasks asked by me or related to me
  • Y will take days or weeks to give me basic replies
  • I'm never the one someone thinks of first for a random favor or gift

I'm just so forgettable it's starting to feel genuinely exhausting to exist socially and count for no one. I do end up making some friends but the way it evolves almost always ends up being one sided.

Just finished Five Little Pigs and I'm blown away

For context, I'm an avid reader of Christie and possess a chronologically ordered complete works edition. I've been revisiting it lately to refresh my memory and discover the ones I had never read.

Five Little Pigs came right after The Body In The Library, which bored me to death. I couldnt care less about these characters and took over a week to finish it, and then I started Five Little Pigs which I finished in two nights.

I agree the case was easier to figure out overall. Though I'm usually really bad at doing that, I figured out half of it (>!why Caroline acted the way she did especially as soon as Williams said that she saw Angela all confused next to the beers!<).

But man, the emotional depth of the characters simply blew me away and was well worth the more simplistic plot. It wasnt just a boring love triangle with some side characters, I really felt all the depth behind these people's feelings and psychology. I really enjoyed how the day of Crale's death felt SO vivid through all the recollections shared by the five suspects. It felt as if I had been a witness living with them myself, and I hardly ever felt that with any other mystery book.

I did enjoy the twist related to >!Amyas' feelings for Elsa, and the whole message about what its like to be young, not just in the body but in the head, and how devastating these pure feelings are when confronted to the nuances of the adult world!<.

Definitely became my new fav Christie of all time!

difference between placidus and whole sign

did anyone tackle this? for example, in the whole sign system, my gemini sun 12th becomes cancer sun 12th, and my cancer rising becomes leo rising. i'm def sensitive and moody, but i'm also really fierce when it comes to expressing myself outward sometimes so seeing both gave me some clarification. i'm not too knowledgeable though so i'd appreciate other insights and experiences.

A list of stuff that was cut from Dishonored (from "The Creators Play Dishonored")

Those are things cut from the game during development and mentioned throughout the nine episodes of the dev playthrough The Creators Play Dishonored.

  • Emily was initially a fake heiress to the throne. She was Daud's daughter and was trained to act as if she was the Empress' daughter. The Empress would go away for 9 months then Emily would be brought up and planted as her secret daughter (some convoluted plot like that). This whole thing was changed at the last moment to make Emily more central to the story and create player attachment.
  • Since Thief was the basis for the game's inspiration, they thought of using a "hiding in the shadow" stealth system. They cut it due to the difficulty of handling the lighting of different levels and having shadows that are lighter than others.
  • The Dishonored mission started with a cutscene directly on the day of Corvo's execution. After getting his head chopped off, the Outsider would appear and rewind time, Corvo's head would get back into place with the Outsider saying something like "Gonna give you a chance".
  • One of the versions of Coldridge's escape had Corvo gather materials around the prison and bring them back to his cell over the span of multiple days to craft the explosive.
  • Early on, the Outsider didn't have one set appearance. He could have appeared to the player as a cat, or as a corpse in an alley suddenly lifting up.
  • There was a businessman called Jonathan Russell and he was the fourth Loyalist leader alongside Havelock, Martin and Pendleton. Everything had already been recorded, but the character and his lines were merged with Havelock's.
  • Initially, the Outsider was a lot more evil and would give Corvo bad stuff to do (the likes of killing a lady's dog and throwing it in a well). He would grant cool powers to Corvo only if he completed those tasks. This was cut as to not lock powers behind morally bad actions.
  • There was a mission where Teague Martin was the clear antagonist.
  • All powers could have had a Level III, an example being Bend Time III which would allow to rewind time (mentioned above in the Corvo execution cinematic).
  • Rats were sensitive to light, and there were special rat spotlights designed to keep an area safe from them. It seems like the blinding spotlights in the backyard of the High Overseer office are remnants of that idea.
  • There were actual explosive wolfhounds. A scene in the backyard of the High Overseer office served as a preview, where an overseer would be training one of those hounds and it would blow off.
  • During House of Pleasure, one of the Pendleton twins arrived to the Golden Cat by train during the mission itself, with a small train stop. This was cut due to difficulties in scheduling his arrival and path to the Golden Cat.
  • There was a third visit of the Distillery District besides High Overseer Campbell and House of Pleasure in order to flesh out Granny Rags, Slackjaw, etc., but only two visits made the cut.
  • Time passed during The Royal Physician and there was a curfew system were you could freely visit the place without hostility before the curfew started. Sokolov would arrive during the mission.
  • In the DLC, Daud had a power called "Rat Ball" where he could move around rat swarms with telekinesis and drop them onto people and places.
  • In the mission The Flooded District, Daud originally cut off Corvo's mark-bearing hand and threw it down the oil refinery. You could go retrieve it, and it would magically re-attach itself, or finish the game in a no-power run.
  • You could pick up the swords of dead ennemies and throw them.
  • The various collectibles weren't converted into money upon being picked up, and were used in a crafting system.
  • Corvo had a bow but it was cut as Corvo always needed one free hand to use the powers.

A joke i sent in korean didn't land so now i feel insecure as hell.

Basically, a funny thought came to mind about a situation, and i decided to translate it in korean and send it to an acquaintance. It was a sarcastic/dry humor type of sentence, echoing back at some context.. and they didn't get it, like they replied to it in a very nice, literal way, and obviously it wasn't the intent. I'm rather sure the way I translated the sentence is correct, but something may have been lost in terms of "different culture/humor", or i may have failed to convey the meaning in a korean way, whatever the true reason is.

Now this is really no big deal and I didn't even bother to point out it was a joke, so they didn't even realize it, but funnily enough this small event kinda shattered my self confidence. Like I'm not just questioning my ability itself. If they didn't understand my wits, a natural thought that occured to me (again whatever if it's because of a translation mistake or a cultural difference), I'm questioning whether I will ever be able to properly convey my real thoughts and personality to my Korean acquaintances.

Should I just not express some of my thoughts (especially the ones that lean into humor) to avoid having such moments again, whether because I'm not skilled enough to express them or because they fail to come accross no matter how I formulate them? I may be dramatic over such a tiny thing, but it definitely watered down my motivation to learn for the moment. Just needed to vent and let out some thoughts about this that may resonate with others.

nathalie was the best showcase of joe's projections

we know joe idealizes his yous, but the extent to which he straight up makes things up is another thing, and i really enjoy how the short-lived you with nathalie was dedicated to showing just that.

he starts stalking nathalie, sees her boring little realtor and housewife life, then wonders if her too despises this life and secretly seeks real love like he does, and we realize how much he is literally just daydreaming, adding a whole lot of bullshit meanings without anything to back it up in this case.

especially when she turned out to really just be the most average woman out there with nothing special. we were shown that she had none of the deeper, secret layer that joe adorned her with. him finding overthinking every little observation in the ridiculously short time he's known her, just to end up reading her call him the "boring neighbor".

i thought it was a really well made little sequence to show the viewer just how much joe actually twists reality and what others really are like.

Perfumes like Ha Long Bay

im used to gourmand spicy and i fell in love with jovoy's ha long bay upon discovery. Its very tropical and yet warm, im especially a huge fan of the strong spicy candied mango scent in the opening. im less of a fan of the dry down which becomes more leathery and masculine.
Do you have any recs with a similar spicy candied mango opening? or even tropical spicy type of scent.

Surgery takes me out of the drama

(just need to vent) Going through MRN so far but Lim Jiyeon's surgery is almost ruining it for me. I've unfortunately had my fair share of plastic surgery/filler spotting in kpop & kdrama to see it about instantly now, and hers is just too distractingly bad. the lips are overfilled, the double eyelid is bad, and the nose is a straight-up tragedy. the last time i saw her was in The Glory and it was already a bit visible back then but it's way worse now and for a historical character, it's even more out of place. it's a shame because i really enjoy the drama.

two of my crushes were virgos. i kinda understood why (groundedness i lack but at the same time there's a hidden freak side that i can feel). i definitely see the difficulty to approach this sign and even begin to touch them personally. i'm trying to get closer to a virgo sun aquarius moon and it just feels impossible. plus, i have some tougher aspects of my chart that enhance my recklessness with expressing feelings, which is kinda like shooting myself in the foot when it comes to a virgo. so i'd love to hear some of your experiences with this sign and how you approach them!

I recall it was my first perfume. Despite looking around a lot, I couldn't find any picture that matched my bottle so I have no idea which one it is. I have it since ages ago, probably around 2010?

As an aside, if you have any recommendations from Lolita Lempicka, I'd take it. I'm currently a lover of sweet spicy/vanilla scents and I'm not sure it's represented that well but I struggle to find perfumes that I feel aren't too "womanly" and "mature" and LL is a good vibe of what I'm looking for

i've noticed two of my romantic "obsessions" were virgo. i feel like i'm drawn to that "down to earth (what i lack as an air sign) but still kinda unhinged" vibe. curious about your thoughts!
