I'm looking for another anime like these can you recommend

So I like to distinct genres, rom coms and battle type anime's. I fell in love with rom coms when I watched Toradora, and i've been watching battle type anime's for longer the most recent one I really liked was Deamons of the shadow realm. And then I recently watched twin star exorcist, and I know about all the animation complaints but the story was perfect for me. It mixed together a battle shohen with a rom com and even had my favorite trope which is enemies to lovers. So can anyone recommend me a good battle anime like deamons of the shadow realm a good rom com like toradora or one that mixes both like twin star exorcists.

As an anime only I was wondering does Yuru still care about the fake asa(kiri) after meeting her again

I know it wont be the same but does he still end up caring for her at a level im asking this because I feel bad because she seems like a genuinely good person or daemon I guess.

Romance anime where the childhood friend beats the new flashy girl that shows up

I hate the trope where the childhood friend has spent the whole life by his side been his one true anchor and been the most impactful person to them and then they just ignore her for the new flashy girl who just showed up like the childhood friend has done so much more for the mc. I have had a hard time finding one like this

Looking for my next watch

So recently I enjoyed quintessential quintuplets, daemons of the shadow realm, toradora, lovely complex, and b the beginning, and rampants on ice. Yes I know there are two distinct very different groups in those rom coms and dark fantasy/shohen like animes as I like both those genres whoever I didn't like dark fantasy animes like death note or aot(I know rare statement). so if anyone has good animes like these in any of the two genres please reccomend

Roman Wilson and Germie Bernard have been putting in alot of extra work this offseason how do you think they will do?

Seeing this work from roman Wilson after hes had a disappointing start is a good sign. Instead of giving up because of his struggles hes using them to fuel him to get better. Im predicting a breakout season from him, maybe 400-500 yards and 3-5 TDs. Also seeing this work ethic from rookies like germie Bernard shows that he's gonna be a stud as hard work usually leads to success in the league. Overall I think we can have really good depth at wr next year as both of them could be capable wr 2 level players.

Romane animes that have a fairly even mix of drama romance and comedy

By best example of this is toradora I dont love rom coms where the couple just gets together at the beginning because then it just feels like more load back and slice of life which I dont hate but the reason iw watch rom coms is to see the romantic development and realizing their feelings leading up to a confession so yeah.

Completely random rant about my thoughts on ami and minoris characters by the end

So I just wanted too say something because it was on my mind and was wondering if anyone else felt the same. So right after the anime finished I was happy with his choice I mean it was obviously gonna happen but minori crying still hit me the hardest(and the indirect kiss scene). I mean she sacrificed her love and happiness for her friend and even broke down crying at Amis house that hit me. And also when she says I thought I found my ghost but I guess ghosts aren't for me I almost cried for the first time on a show. But then after you let it linger for a while something else hits harder and more personally and thats Amis ending. As soon as I finished watching the show it didn't even feel sad but then I thought about it and this is the only thing form toradora or any other fiction that has made me shed a tear including sad anime. Just a week later thinking about Amis character I thought of something that might've been obvious and I has already known it but I thought of it. Ami was by far the most mature person in the whole thing by the end. She is the one that made everything happen she even pushed minori to stop hiding her true feelings. She realized the whole dynamic before anyone else did and she realizes yes im gonna have to take a backseat because thats just how it is. The thing that hits me even harder is she didn't even get to confess because she knew she wasn't in the running. At least minori had a chance if she took it but she didn't. In that scene when ami talks about how ryujis playing house then in the end tell him to stop then quietly says and then you can be with me that hit me a week later. Also I dont remember the exact lines but when she says smt like im happy someone understands me even if you dont love me. And then she thinks maybe if we met sooner you would've fallen for me. That hit me a week later and made me cry like damn wow ami really did sacrifice just took a back seat and she didn't even get to confess. I wish there was an alternate ending where he got with ami cuz it just hit me so hard. Also just though of this I remember when ami told Ryuuji she was leaving the school and he wa like why you have it to good you can litterly make every boy fall for you and then she was muttered not every boy thinking about him that also hit me. well thats all I was just thinking all this and had to write it out to express what I was thinking idk why.

Can someone recommend me some peak rom com based on this info if your willing to read all this

I’ve asked across a bunch of different subs and online and received recommendations, but I still haven't found something that matches the high of the first one I ever watched Toradora

So I figured I’d write out everything I’ve watched and what I liked/disliked about each one. Hopefully this gives a better idea of my taste and helps people recommend something that might actually hit what I’m looking for.

Toradora — 10/10

Just peak fiction for me.

The premise hooked me immediately making me decide to watch it even though I had never watched even a romance show let alone anime, but what really made it special was the character writing and development. The emotional highs I got from this show are honestly unmatched for me. I love how it can go from funny, wholesome moments to high emotionalism moments giving you that feeling.

For example, Episode 8 with the “Ryuuji is mine” moment and Episode 19, when Taiga breaks down as she starts realizing her feelings for him, are exactly the kind of moments I’m looking for.

I also really liked how well every character was written. Ami and Minori especially had really good development, and there are so many little details in the writing that I loved — like the conversation about the ghosts where shes actually representing love (if you know, you know). And Ami referencing how their playing house and the problem as shes just such a well written and developed character she realizes everything thats happening before anyone else and stays silent sacrificing her own feelings so she dosnet get in the way.

But Taiga and Ryuujis relationship development might've been my favorite part of the whole show

They start off just hanging out to help each other for mutual benefit as they like each others best friend. Then they gradually become genuine friends who rely on each other, and eventually start realizing that they actually need each other and love each other. I absolutely loved watching that relationship evolve naturally instead of them just immediately falling in love, and those last 2 episodes was just chills.

Overall, I think what made Toradora so special to me was the combination of romance, comedy, character development, and drama, especially the way it builds toward those emotional moments.

That’s basically the feeling I’m trying to find again.

Rampants on Ice — 8.5/10

I definitely enjoyed it. The romantic development might honestly be one of the closest things I’ve seen to Toradora in terms of the process of the characters gradually realizing their feelings.

I especially liked watching the characters slowly come to terms with their feelings and how that was portrayed.

The characters were well written too it showed their backstories and overcoming these emotions and breaking down walls and I enjoyed that. And it also did have some semi emotionalish moments.

My only downgrade is that, similar to the next two, I felt like it was missing some of those PEAK emotional highs that Toradora gave me. It was really good, but it never quite reached those moments for me.

The Fragrant Flower Blooms with Dignity — 8/10

I really enjoyed this one too.

I loved the way it handled social prejudice and showed the characters becoming close despite the differences between their schools/social groups. A lot of their moments together were really heartwarming.

The overall feeling was more relaxed and wholesome, with some emotional moments mixed in, which I enjoyed as something a little different but I still would rather the more toradorish vibe.

Honestly, though, I think I might have liked Subaru and Saku's relationship more than the main couple 😭. Their romantic development was so good I swear if they end on a open ending between those two ima cry.

Again, my biggest issue was that I didn't get quite the same emotional highs that I got from Toradora.

ReLIFE — 7/10

I thought it was good. I actually really liked the premise, and I thought the character development was pretty solid.

That said, I might have enjoyed it more if I hadn't watched it immediately after Toradora. I was still in that post-Toradora void and probably compared it to Toradora way too much.

So I don't think ReLIFE was bad at all — it was definitely good — it just didn't reach the level I was hoping for.

So basically, I'm not necessarily looking for something that's exactly like Toradora plot-wise.

What I'm really looking for is that mix of romance + comedy + drama, where the characters have a meaningful relationship that develops over time, and especially where the show can build up to those romantic/emotional highs.

I don't mind slice-of-life/wholesome moments at all. In fact, I like them. I just don't want the entire show to be a super laid-back comfort anime where nothing particularly intense happens, and it's just their happy romantic journey with just slice of life. I also want to express that by emotional I do not mean sad tearjerking endings.

If you read all of this im surprised, and thank you 😭. Based on everything I wrote, what anime do you think I should watch next?

I'm especially interested in recommendations where you think the emotional peaks and character development could actually hit someone who considers Toradora a 10/10.

Is Fragrant Flower worth it to watch based on this taste

Im looking for something that is less like a couple gets together at the beginning of the show and its just their wholesome slice of life story of course I dont mind the slice of life parts but I want something that has a mix but isn't too much of like a comfort type anime I like when theirs emotional or dramatic ish moments too like a good rom com slice of life mix an example to this would be toradora I know the stories are very different but Im looking for something with the drama romance comedy mix of that do you think TFF will be worth it for me

Rom coms like these that have dramatic/emotionalish moments

So im new to the romance genre and I need some help on what to watch. So the first one I watched was toradora and it absolutely blew my expectations out the park it felt like the best thing I ever watched. Then to distract me from the emptiness after finishing it I watched RELIFE which I enjoyed not as much as toradora but enjoyed it still then I watched ramparts of ice which I really enjoyed id say above relife but below toradora but still in those second two I was missing the feeling of toradora like the dramatic moments like for example when she breaks down crying when she realized she likes Ryuuji or when she says Ryuuji is mine in episode 8. So if someone can give me a nice rom com/slice of life to watch next based on this id appreciate it. Thanks
