Okonomi sauce?

I’ve had a bottle of okonomi sauce sitting in my fridge for quite a while now. I’ve used it to make okonomiyaki - naturally.

I was wondering if there are any other foods/dishes you’d recommend using it on?

I know technically you can put it on pretty much anything, but I wondered if anyone has tried it on something unexpected and discovered a heavenly combination.

I was going to try it on some steak with sticky rice tonight for dinner, maybe served with a fried egg.

[text] What should I make with guanciale?

Other than the obvious - carbonara.

I’ve got a nice hunk of guanciale that I need to use by the end of this month and want some more ideas of what to use it in. I’ll obviously make a carbonara, but please throw some more ideas at me!

Christmas dinner suggestions

I’ve had to tag this as London but I’m actually looking for suggestions on what I could make for Christmas dinner this year. I know it’s early, I hate discussing it now too…but last year I didn’t plan ahead enough.

For reference, I’d only be cooking Christmas dinner for 4 people (myself included).

I love making meals that have the ‘wow-factor’ presentation wise (as I have a foodie Instagram where I post as cooking is something I’m really passionate about), but also taste really good.

Starter - ideas needed, but my family love seafood so anything with prawns, smoked salmon, scallops welcome. Other suggestions also v welcome!

Main course - I’m keen to give making a beef wellington a go but would obviously give this a trial run before the ‘big day’. However, any other suggestions welcome, I’d like to have options.

Dessert - open to any suggestions for dessert. I’m willing to make two - one sugar free (if possible) and one normal as I’d love to make one especially for one of my relatives who is diabetic. We’ll likely have a cheeseboard anyway, so I don’t want that to substitute dessert for my diabetic relative.

Please throw some ideas my way!

Thanks in advance x

Hey! I’m based in London, UK and would be willing to swap with anyone as I love trying all types of foods from different places.

I also have a food Instagram account so would love to post an unboxing video/taste test video on there.

Fry up / full English / cooked breakfast…whatever you call it

For those of you who appreciate a proper full English, I recently gave it a go in my new dual-drawer air fryer and was really impressed with the results.

I cooked the sausages, vine tomatoes and hash browns in one drawer, and the bacon and mushrooms in the other.

I still heated the baked beans up in a saucepan and fried the eggs and black pudding together in a frying pan, so it’s not a completely air fryer breakfast, but it massively cut down on the number of pans and the amount of standing over the hob.

Anyone who enjoys making a full English at home knows it’s a bit of a labour of love and usually leaves you with a mountain of washing up afterwards - a bit like cooking a roast dinner with all the trimmings. Hopefully this helps anyone who’s been wondering whether it’s worth using the air fryer for one!

EDIT: You could probably chuck the black pudding in the air fryer too (alongside the bacon and mushrooms) but I like mine cooked a certain way.

Today’s meal deal luncheon

Hate on my sub all you want but it’s a go-to. Perfectly moist, great amount of mayo. I’d never tried this flavour Lipton or Twix before but genuinely loved both!

What are you rating it?
