Can't decide on the design for my 1.0 build

Can't decide on the design for my 1.0 build

Can't decide which setup is best.

A

B

C

D

E

I'm leaning towards A but I also like the lower windows in D & E.

Do A&B make the roof point too busy looking?

Builds never stop, they only evolve.

Seen a lot of posts from newer players looking for inspirations for the base builds lately and what I try to impart on them is the idea that builds never end and to not be afraid or avoid that. You're going to makes something, and it doesn't matter what it is, then realize that it either doesn't work the way you envisioned it, or you got new materials and/or ideas and can make it better.

Here's an example from my current playthrough. Two before, two after. The space I built for my portal hub was messy and awkward. Roofing wasn't as neat as I like so I...reworked it. And it ended up being a bigger build than I first started with but I think it looks better in the after. Don't be afraid to rip sections of you base apart and rebuild anew. Embrace this because as the available build pieces and your skill grows, you'll be making something truly beautiful and your own.

I see we’re still on the one bear trophy per playthrough plan…

I’ve killed somewhere in the vicinity of 30-40 bears and only 1 trophy to show for it. *sigh* RNG, you are world class mofo.

Exploration discussion - what do you consider an island?

We've all come across a river running through the landmass we're exploring. The land on the other side is almost always a continuation of the biome we're in. Do you consider that land on the other side a different island? Or do you consider it part of a larger island that has a river running through it? If there's any river whatsoever, do you consider it separate land masses?

For me, it's about how narrow the river is. Obviously if you can walk it, it's one land mass and if you need a vehicle it's two, but I'll so far as to say if you can swim it on Meadows level food - without taking damage - it's one land mass.

We need a photo mode.

If achievements are coming and enabling devcommands to use the freefly camera kills achievements, then we need a photo mode added to the game because I need to be able to take sweet sweet screenshots of my builds.

RNG is a bitch

Both types of axe heads needed for early axes have a 55% chance of spawning in their respective abandoned houses. In this seed I hit 100% for one axe type and 0% of the other. Oh and I have not one, but TWO spawns of 2* boars.

RNG is a funny thing.

Accessory advice!

So for fathers day, I got a bunch of gift cards that I plan on spending on accessories for my 26" kettle and I'm looking for experience/reviews if possible.

Looking at a Slow'n'Sear which I've been eyeing for a while. But at $100 I'm wondering if the OnlyFire version is the better value. Anyone have experience with the OnlyFire basket? Looks basically the same as the SNS one.

Also, since Weber hates the 26" owners and won't make many accessories for it, the only option for a griddle is the Lavalock or Hunsaker one. Anyone have any experience with either one of those?

26" replacement legs

Has anyone replaced the legs on their 26" kettle with non-Weber legs?

Saw a video for converting a kamado cart for use with the 26" kettle which basically entailed cutting the kettle legs down so that it stands on the shelf of the cart. I don't want to cut the original legs, so as to have a backup, and I don't want to spend the $50 to buy the official weber parts. So I'm looking for other options.

Anyone else obsessively hitting refresh on all their social apps dreadinghoping for NYR news?

My restless leg syndrome has kicked into overdrive and it's only 9:47.

Problem moving cargo to containers

I tried searching in the sub for this but maybe I'm not wording it correctly so I'm not finding anything. I have small outposts delivering material to one central outpost. Everything is in system so no helium3 needed. These cargo links are working properly as the ships arrive and depart my central outpost without issue. Cargo is deposited into the Incoming container as it should be. Here is where I start having problems.

I have my transfer container linked to the extractors at this outpost and the incoming container from the cargo platform. From the transfer container I have links to storage stacks of all four types. Everything was working fine. Cargo would come in, get sorted to storage stacks without issue. Then I added more storage to my stacks. Linked the last container from the old stack to the first container in the new stack and so on.

Cargo is now getting stuck in the transfer container and not moving into my storage stacks. I have to kill the link between the transfer container and storage stack then recreate it for anything to move.

Is this a known bug and if so is there a mod that fixes this?

Why does Weber hate 26" Kettle owners?

I swear. Everything on their website is for their gas monstrosities or the 22" kettle and smaller. There is basically nothing for the 26" kettle, unless there's some super secret part of the website I'm not privy to.

I'm trying to find the 26" weber crafted grate that works with the weber crafted line. Why is it so hard to find decent accessories for their greatest grill ever?

On a side note, if anyone has a recommendation on a good griddle top for the 26" kettle, I'd appreciate it.

200+ hours in and I'm only now realizing a problem with the MAST building.

The elevator in the NAT station is along the right wall when you enter the station from the street level ramp. If you enter that elevator and take it to the MAST building lobby where the Vanguard desk is, you exit out behind the reception desk, with the ramp you take down to the NAT station directly visible in front of you.

I don't know why I never noticed this before or why I never put it together but now that I have? I can not use the elevator without smelling burnt toast. And I'm in the middle of the Vanguard faction questline so I'm using the elevator to go down to the sub-level a lot.

Are they using Wonka's glass elevator? Or are these Star Trek style turbolifts that can go sideways too?

I’m torn over who to support now.

I was pulling for Buffalo for that New York pride but with them out, I’m at a loss on who to support.

No way in hell can I root for Carolina. Fuck them.
Same for Vegas. Came into the league with the league giving them a head start no other expansion team has ever received.

The Avs are the safe choice but as much as I like Landeskog and Big Mac, I fucking hate Makar.

Then there’s Montreal. Love the city, hate the fanbase. If they were to win, their fans would be insufferable just like in 92-93. However if they were to win, with Gorton having reshaped their franchise in the five years since their fluke run, that would be an amazing slap in Dolan’s face.

Is it draft day yet?
