Im gonna be honest here and now: I think the fact that Clan Pestilens is getting a whole refresh during the next edition of AoS is a certain fact. I didnt create this thread to debate it (alltho, you are invited to do so, of course)

For me, the fact that we are getting a second wave to refresh the Clan Pestilens range is guaranteed. And it seems like a fact we should be getting:

-New Plague Monks

-New Priesst on foot

-Plastic plague censer bearers

-New special pestilens character*

However, to me it seems like we might be getting even more than this. Mostly, because GW loves doing new untis for these refreshes. I allways feel like with skaven the possibilities are endless:

-Clan Pestilens cavalry?

-Poisoned rats?

-Cauldron of Thousand Poxes?

-Pestilens shooting unit?

What do you think? Do you think GW will be conservative, and just update the old stuff?

*Notice how here i didnt mention the botafumeiro, or the plagueclaw. Thats because those units share sprues with non-Pestilens units, so it can be seen as risky to predict their updates in this case. They can stay unupdated, tbf.

Last entry on the "lesser known characters" series for a while! Tomorrow's ratpost will be very special for obvious reasons, tho.

So, for yesterday's ratpost I did a bit on Oldhammer skaven, but... to be honet, I still do wanna nerd about them! Here you have now all of the diferent models, which I painted with time, patience, effort, and all of the love of my hearth.

This was my take on the original models, alltho some explanation may be required:

The first actual skaven models came out in 1985, under the C47 series, named "Chaos Ratmen", but also as skaven. There wasn't any lore to them yet. Some of these are featured on my bit. Or at leat my favorite models from the batch. I'm sorry, Kruhl Backripper nation, your time to shine will come.

Then, for the Citadel Journal of spring, in 1986, where a lot of the actual kaven lore was first presented to the public, at least to my knowledge. I sstill do recommend taking it a read, you will see that a lot of skaven lore hasnt been changed that much in 40 years.

There came a lot of the rest of the first skaven models under the C47 series again, with a lot of their silly dated names presented on the video.

I also put here some C22 models that also came out first in 1986, alltho a bit later (I think). Honestly, this wass because I wanted to draw sskaven models from all of the great Clans, and, most importantly, how can you ignore such a glorious name like FLEM?????

Notice in the video and the links how a lot of these models had names because Warhammer wass built diferent by then (literally). Most would become generic models, with some exceptions. Malis, Throt, and maybe Gnawdoom are the examples that come to mind. Sadly, FLEM didn't make the cut.

Paintwork come from various places. Some are oficial (like Spyne), some come form the blog Oldenhammer in Toronto, some I used my consultant's paintwork to honour his help (also, notice how ssome of these models didn't have tails. My oldhammer consultant confirmed such models dont actually have them, and I wanted to be as faithful as posible)

Again, thanks to the great people from The Old World discord who helped me with this bit! It wouldnt have been posible without them.

And yes, you can consider this as a celebration for the skaven's 40th aniversary. I wouldnt, tho. For me that was last year!

So, a little of context!

Today, the "lesser skaven characters" series comes back with... oldhammer skaven! Yes, I took my effort (2-3 hours per model or so?) to represent some of the very original skaven, when they were called Chaos Ratmen! You can see the models here and here.

These were all models made by Jes Goodwin. First there were some released on 1985 (of which i've put a few on the video) and later down the line, in the Spring Citadel Journal, skaven were oficially given flesh and bones! I recommend taking it a read because a lot of their lore is almost intact, even in current AoS days. This is also the Journal that first featured the legendary Battle of Maisontaal!

This ratpost was also a team effort. As I surprisingly dont have the oldhammer models (im lazy, im waiting for gw to release them at some point) I needed to consult people on the Old World discord (they didnt want to be credited). They were PHENOMENAL and a great help on knowing and making multiple photos of all the models to make the perfect drawings of each one as a tribute to Jes Goodwin. Thank you very much, guys!

Btw, Im EXHAUSTED. I had been an entire week working on this ratpost, but for some reason something something happened and I had to finish and do half the work during the current day. Next two days will come more lesser known characters, something special for day 216 and a bit more simpler ratposts after that for a little while. Hope you guys like it either way!

As I promised yesterday, here is THE THING. I won't lie to you, guys, this monster took me an entire day of work (20-24 hours or so?) to pull off. But Im so proud. Im so damn proud of it!

Things to note, tho:

-This isnt oficial art, CA hasnt been involved on the process to create this image

-If someone points out to me a visual lore misstake, I'll burst into tears

-The perspective is off, I know. I didnt literally trace it! I just had the image at one side, an I drew it using it as a reference. Also, I left Thanquol and Bonerippey to be drawn for last (for whatever reasons) so that made the glottkin feel weird

-There are things on the photo that I couldnt visually understand (no shade on the artist, btw, its just the photo quality. Artist did a phenomenal job) I wanted to keep this a secret, so I couldnt consult anyone, so thatss what you get, I guess. If you ask me, Im mostly regretful of the background, Nagassh's right left sside of hiss tunic, and Otto'ss right arm.

-Colouring Thanquol and Boneripper like that was 100% a creative decission. Those are the colours Im most confortable drawing them. If someone wants, I can try the poster colours later down the line, tho.

Anyways, I usually tend to be humble about this. Whenever people ask me to do modable stuff, I try to keep my feet to the ground because I think that, as an "artist", its important to know your limits, and most importantly, how to improve (and yes, I do wanna draw cards once Im done with tomorrow's video)

However... If you guys find a picture of mine cool, and want to use it as an avatar, pfp, or whatever, feel free to do so ass long as you respect the disclaimer (credit me, etc).

Im sorry, this time around I thought it wa important to say so because, again, damn it, fuck it, Im proud of this.

Also, as a last note: Creative Assembly, for bringing me my favorite trilogy of games, for bringing my favorite character ever to life, for the support, for Richard Aldridge, who has been there since the beginning, and, in anticipation, for what seem like the best Total Warhammer dlc ever, thanquol you very much.

So, as you guys may know, sometimes some of my ratposts get deleted. So, here's another round of deleted ratposts, with the dates to show I didnt skip even a single day.

Tbh, if it was because they don't like lotteries, I get it (again, I didnt get a warning). However, I do still wanna have this open, sso I'll just post it on my main acount. It's not the same, but I will procure to market it in every ratpost i do to the 30rd. If rat doesnt get anounced (I REFUSE) future lotteries will be posted on the main acount as well.

Seriously, I don't wanna sound bitchy, it's just that every ratpost was deleted by a bot. I'm too busy drawing ratposts right now to even be worried. But it i true that I invest time, effort, and even research on these things. Whenever you point out to me a ratpost, I remember when i drew it, how fun I had materialising my ideas, how long it took, etc. Each and every ratpost feels like my baby.
