“CAn yOu nOt hOnoR thaT pRice?”
I just remembered this story from a little while ago, so I thought I’d share it with Reddit.
So this woman I cashed out a while ago, was purchasing a bunch of how to train your dragon figures things go smoothly through our interaction, she had a couple price matches that I could do.
When we already finished the transaction she suddenly remembered that a different figure was a different price
Guest: “Oh I forgot, there was the toothless figure that was a different price on the shelf, I wanted to ask you if you could’ve honored that price.”
Me: “Oh I’m sorry we’ve already gone through the transaction, but can I see the price so that guest services could help you with that?”
Guest: “Well, it rang up $50, but on shelf it said $3” *shows picture of completely different figure*
Me: “Oh I’m sorry ma’am, but we cannot do big price adjustments like that, and by the looks of it, it’s a complete different figure.”
Guest: “But target is usually good with price adjustments, so that leaves me wondering, can you not honor that price?”
Me: “No ma’am. I’m sorry but we cannot.”
Guest: “Interesting.”
She apparently went over to guest service to see if they could do it, they said the same thing. Pretty anticlimactic but I thought it was funny she tried there anyway.
I’ll never understand guests that try and do this, like, we know what you’re trying to do lol we weren’t born yesterday.
