Who was/were your introduction to Lolcows?

I was in my late 20s when I discovered the Lolcow Rabbit Hole as well as KiwiFarms.

My introductions were the following:

ForeverKailyn - A wannabe influencer with an infected cooch that has permanent stank. She also looks like a potato. She makes food videos (what is it with Lolcows and Food Reviews?) and ones about her (frankly abhorrent) beauty routine

Leonard F. Shaner Jr - A Gen X Railfan who is banned from every railroad for being an asshat. He also creeps on women young and old, worked at Sears briefly and was fired (I'll let you fill in the blanks on that one), and according to a source who was on good terms with his late mother, once saw him in a shit filled adult diaper with pantyhose, fucking a pillow with a hole he cut in it, to an old Porno Tape. He also lives not too far from where Nick Bate grew up. Did I mention Leonard F Shaner Jr is highly suspected to have autism? Take that how you choose...

Nick Bate - Speaking of, around the time I was getting into Lolcows, this admitted pedophile and fecalphiliac was getting sentenced for sexual harming his younger sister. In 2016, he was sentenced to 40 years. He is up for parole in 5 years as of my writing this

and of course, the one that lead me down that vile yet somehow intriguing rabbit hole, Chris Chan - IYKYK 😏

My quest to find the [fully lost] Waterhog Water Conservation Tape

When I was in 3rd Grade, there was a whole couple weeks where we did a unit on water: Aquatic Life, why water is important, that sort of thing.

On one of those weeks, my teacher showed my class a water conservation tape from the late 80s called Waterhog.

The video has a guy in a pig costume and his dorky looking friends spending the entire day wasting water. Meanwhile, some kid is fishing at a lake that is also that universe's only water supply.

The more water that Waterhog and his friends waste, the lower the lake becomes and then when his friends do need the water for an emergency, it's too late. The water supply is gone, the lake has dried up, and Waterhog has to come to grips with having to drink and bathe in his own pee and his dorky friends become chopped up and processed into Soylent Green so their neighborhood can eat and because they were responsible for consuming the entire town's water supply.

Lol I'm just messing with y'all. None of that happens. xD Real talk though, after the lake dries up completely, the kid looks at the camera and says "Don't be a waterhog."

I bring this all up because I have been trying to find that video in its entirety. The only clue I have is another old Subreddit about the tape. Otherwise, it seems to be lost media!

Internet Archive doesn't have it, DailyMotion doesn't have it (not that it matters since I don't use that website with how obnoxious they are about ads interrupting their videos every 5 minutes), not even Everything is Terrible or The Found Footage Festival People seem to have it (and they show a lot of oddball VHS Crap).

I just hope out there is someone with a copy of the tape and that one day they get it uploaded to YouTube for everyone to bask in the video's glorious stupidity I just described. I would hope some grade school or even a public library might have that tape, but considering technology advancing, those kinds of places keeping any of their old VHS Tapes is likely shooting for the moon at this point.

Either way, to anyone who may have a copy, or anyone who knows someone who does, if you're reading this, please upload Waterhog to YouTube or Internet Archive if at all possible

Oregon Trail's Lesser Remembered Spin-offs

Between 1993 and 1997, MECC (Minnesota Educational Computing Consortium), best known for their only hit game Oregon Trail (as well as the moderately successful Muncher Games) presented other Trail Games.

There was...

The Amazon Trail released in 1993 - This game has you and a guide going down The Amazon River in different time periods from Present Day Brazil to 16th Century Meso America to deliver some cinchona the Incas. Along the way, you get to meet historical figures like Henry Ford and Teddy Roosevelt and trade items with them and even snap photos of animals in the rainforest.

The Yukon Trail (aka Canadian Oregon Trail) released in 1994 - This game focuses on The Klondike Gold Rush of the late 1890s. You and whichever partner you choose have to get from Seattle, Washington to Dawson City, Yukon if you want to stake a good claim. Along the way, you can talk to people, buy supplies, gamble, and there are even three river navigation levels near the end.

The last two games are based on a bike trek made by Dan Buettner as well as an expedition:

MayaQuest: The Mystery Trail released in 1995 - This game has you exploring the Mayan ruins to learn why one of Central America's most advanced civilizations just up and disappeared. It also makes use of the 1500 Dan Buettner took on his expedition of The Mayan Ruins

and Africa Trail, developed in 1995 but not released until 1997 (1 year after Softkey bought out and eventually folded MECC into The Learning Company) - This game is based around the 1992 12,000 mile AfricaTrek many bicyclists went on including Dan himself.

I had at least half of these and played the crap out of The Yukon Trail most lol

Did anyone else play any of these or just Oregon Trail (and to be fair, its many sequels (realistically just updated versions of the game with new features)?

StickyBear: The Original Computer Edutainment Mascot

Before Super Solver was using Math, Science, and Spelling for his Super Solving...

Before Mavis Beacon taught typing...

Before the Muncher was munching math equations, trivia, and grammar...

Before Carmen Sandiego taught Geography and History combined with Detective Work...

Before Reader Rabbit taught Reading (and to be fair, Math when he was Math Rabbit)...

Before Math Blaster was Math Blasting, there was...

...

..

.

STICKYBEAR!!!

For those of you who didn't grow up in the early 1980s, StickyBear was a character in Edutainment Games that ranged from Preschool to a 2nd Grade Level teaching stuff like opposites, shapes, math, and reading through mini games and random cutscenes.

His games were on many different PC Platforms including the Apple II, IBM PC Booter, Commodore 64, Macintosh, Windows, and Atari 8-Bit. It even had the misfortune of seeing a game on the infamous Philips CD-i Console of the 1990s.

Today, StickyBear remains something of an obscurity (which is just as well given you could only do so much with the character before it became one-note and stale), and while he may be buried under other Edutainment Mascots that would later take over the spotlight, he was once beloved, especially by Generation X-ers who were the first to play his games. Don't ya worry on that one. Like there were even books of StickyBear. That's how successful the games once were.

His games are on eBay if you don't mind taking out a loan, selling one of your kidneys and giving up an arm and a leg to get the games (and the necessary platform to play it on), or you could also emulate the games (of course, I don't need to tell you that lol).

StickyBear: He came, he saw, and he practically paved the way for what we have now in the way of Edutainment Games and Mascots.

Featured is an old ad for StickyBear Games

My childhood fascination with the dump (and inquiry about if anyone here had any weird hyper fixations growing up)

Story time...

When I was about 5 years old, my uncle took me to a local garbage dump since he had to get rid of some stuff. I have no idea why, but that trip is what triggered my hyper fixation with garbage dumps as a kid. Maybe it was seeing all that garbage and those machines moving it, maybe it was the nasty stench, all I know is I was fascinated with it from that day on for a few years.

I even bragged about that trip to my mom and dad and would not shut up about it. Fast forward to 2nd Grade when I establish myself as that weird kid hardly anyone wants jack to do with. That was also the year I rented Killer Klowns From Outer Space on home video (and later described it in detail to my classmates) and even discovered the niche world of Comedy Music when my mom got me a Dr. Demento Disc Set that had a whole bunch of inappropriate songs on it that I sang at school during that time.

It was also around that time, I kept hyper fixating on the dump to where one of my classmates almost each day would playfully ask me if I loved the dump and was going to marry it. To which I would always say yes with a big grin on my face.

Now years later, when I look back to that, I picture myself as a grown-up with the people who were in my life back then at my wedding to a garbage dump and once pronounced trash pile and wife, that I may kiss the garbage (not that I would want to) lmfao

It got me to thinking, did any of you have any strange or unusual hyper fixations as a kid? If so, what were they?

A Poem by General Gum (Minh's dad) that he wrote while awaiting trial at The Hague

So much depends on inhumanity and death! We must not forget, yet we cannot remember!

Death be not proud???!!! Then who?...

Unfortunately, he never got to finish the poem in that episode so that's all I have lol

My favourite Sci-Fi Antagonists

I am that unapologetically toxic motherf***er who roots for the baddy and don't give no craps who knows it lmfao

I am especially a fan of antagonists in Science Fiction. They're funny. Especially when they disregard human life (and a lot of them totally do)

I make Retro Pop Culture Collages and here is a collage I made featuring my fav Sci-Fi Baddies of all time in no particular order including (but not limited to)...

Dr. Zaius from Planet of The Apes Original - He is anti-human and thinks they're all the same and even has other apes experiment on them and even lobotomize them.

Hal 9000 from 2001: A Space Odyssey - Let's just say he's why you should not trust AI, kids!

The Cyborg Cops from THX 1138 - If you're caught breaking the law and having sex, they talk kindly to you claiming they're there to help and to just relax before unaliving you on holovision with their heavy beating sticks. It's awesome!

The Mutants from The Omega Man - These dudes infect people into their little cult and remain ignorant of the medical miracles one of the last surviving humans on earth came up with.

The AI Cowboy from Westworld Original - The other reason why you should never trust AI...

Governor Santini from Soylent Green - He's one of the reasons why Systemic Cannibalism is the future. He's awesome for that!

Mr. Bartholomew from Rollerball Original - He and his little corporate buddies make Rollerball violent to get Jonathan E to retire and then vote to have him eliminated lol

The Gamilons from Space Battleship Yamato - They ruined earth with radiation bombs 🤣

His Divine Shadow from Lexx - A diety who makes the world all grim and gory n stuff

Dr. Hans Reinhardt from The Black Hole - A dude who unalived his whole crew into drones

My favourite Doctor Who Baddies including...

The Master - A rogue timelord who screws with the status quo sometimes in hilarious manners and other times in grim ones

The Daleks - They exterminate people

The Cybermen - They delete people

and The Sontarans - They harm people in messed up ways that would make a game of Rollerball look tame by comparison.

Who are your favourite Sci-Fi Baddies and what misdeeds make them awesome and hilarious? Yes, I'm totally being serious

u/Autistic_Joker1988 — 1 month ago

Am I the only one who finds the Cybermen and Dalek episodes Comedy Gold?

To me, those episodes are the most hilarious.

Casualties getting exterminated by the Daleks and deleted by the Cybermen.

It is a major laugh riot to me!!!

I wish Daleks and Cybermen could be real. At least I can dream...

Using Doctor Who to cope

So, tomorrow would have been the 10th anniversary of the day my supposed friend in The UK adopted me as her American Daughter (until she quietly disowned me out of the blue last November).

And since tomorrow is going to be an incredibly painful day for me, I plan on having a marathon of most of the Dalek and Cybermen episodes of Doctor Who and coping by pretending each casualty who gets deleted by the Cybermen is her.

I love the Cybermen episodes. They are Comedy Gold!

▲ 6 r/Prayer

Urgent prayer request for employment, and against a faith crisis!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So my gf and I are both Neurodivergent and on Social Security.

My gf had to stop working due to her condition (she is obese and has a mast on her leg the size of a bowling (literally no joke!) and spends a lot of the time on the couch while I help out around the place.

Anyway, recently, times have gotten so bad for us financially, emotionally, and mentally.

Here I am trying to go back to work in an economy where if you have a job, you pretty much just won the lottery (or so it feels like) on top of other factors I won't go into, and she has been borderline gambling on her phone just to get some extra cash.

We both do not receive our Social Security Pay until the end of the month, but even then, that pay only lasts so long.

Each day, I try to be the chill one in the relationship but it is getting more and more difficult with her negative aura bumming me out. This relationship is really beginning to take its toll on my mental and emotional well-being.

Like, we're talking, it's gotten so bad, a couple weeks ago, I found myself needing a cigarette, and a drink, simultaneously, for the first time in 8 years. She literally drove me to drink and caused me to start smoking again!

This relationship has become incredibly unhealthy and I think I am finding myself in the beginning stages of breaking up with her!

On top of that, her faith (we're both Christian. We're members of an Episcopal Church near us) is slipping because each time she prays, she receives no answers.

She and I are 110% AWARE we are NOT the only prayers God has to answer (of course, to say we'd be between other people on that list would probably be putting it generously), but she is tired of waiting for a miracle.

And with me having no luck finding any work preferably in my neighborhood, a couple weeks ago, I reached my breaking point to where I was about ready to commute to an old KFC that just closed, rip out their copper wiring and sell it. My gf stopped and told me if I go that route, she would break up with me (to be fair, it's also not the first time I threatened to risk jail time for her when she doesn't see positive results on things she's dealing with at the moment)

Anyway, long explanation short, as dramatic as I probably sound to some if not all of you 🙄, we need copious amount of prayers.

We are both at our wit's end!!! Satan's claws have dug so deep in this relationship and this household that they are hardwired in completely!!!!

VHS turning 50 this year???!!!

Yes, I cannot believe it myself.

Come September, the most famous and iconic video cassette format is turning the big 5-0 (at least in the case of its original Japanese release). In September (the same month as The Sony U-Matic's anniversary), it will probably be old enough to get discounts at the buffet lol

HAPPY 50 YEARS (This September), VHS!!!

Carmen Sandiego Meme (for 80s and 90s Kids who don't feel old enough already)

Here is a meme I made based on a franchise that was a huge deal back in my day (I'm a real 90s kid with real 90s Childhood Experience).

For those of you not in the know, back in the 1980s, there was a game on old dinosaur computers like the Apple II called Carmen Sandiego.

It was a Detective Simulator where you go around the world catching thieves and learning Geography.

It gained a pretty large cult following leading to spin-offs, cash grabs, Mad Magazine Parodies, a game show, two cartoons (one at least a few of you may remember if you have access to Netflix), and even an A Capella Pop Song (that also served as the game show theme song).

And the meme is absolutely true. Nowadays, kids will never know Carmen Sandiego. Sad really... but oh well!

Any Juggaloes or Juggalettes in PDX

I just entered the Juggalette Lifestyle myself and am looking for any fellow juggaloes or juggalettes to chill with.

I am in Portland, Oregon just north of Tanasbourne near the Portland and Hillsboro Borders (and the bougie assed community of Bethany).

Autistic Juggalo/Juggalette Thread

Any Juggaloes or Juggalettes on the spectrum here? If so, can I get a "WHOOP, WHOOOP!!!"?

I myself just became a Juggalette a few months ago when I started listening to ICP as a coping mechanism when a fake friend who called me her chosen daughter for almost 10 years disowned me.

My fav songs by them are Wizard of The Hood, Fuck the World, The Neden Game, Southwest Song, Over a Bitch, Santa Claus is a Fat Bitch, Mr. Johnson's Head, and Another Love Song.

My favorite Faygo flavor is Rocket Pop.

WHOOP WHOOP!!!
