First time using an Akai MPC2 And I have no idea what I’m doing. How do I add drums to this loop I made?
Every time I try to select a new instrument, it changes the loop to that instrument I select. How do I simply play drums over this loop?
Last episode made me want to watch movies that have good naval combat.
What are some good pirate movies or movies that have naval combat similar to last nights episode? I realized after watching that my only experience with watching any sort of naval combat is this show, and Pirates of the Caribbean. My favorite part of the episode was The Sea Snake getting his ship through the narrow pass. What are some other naval combat movies/shows that have that same kind of tension?
Why did this goat have to do me like this in front of a lady?
Found this old clip of my first RDR playthrough. -1000 aura.
I want to use a still-frame shot from a movie as an album cover, gettin mixed search results on the legality of this.
My initial plan is to take a still-frame shot from a movie, run it through photoshop and edit it so it looks different and use it as an album cover. The idea was inspired by Negative Approach famously using a still-frame from The Exorcist which has no become synonymous with Negative Approach’s whole image.
I was curious to see if Negative Approach had to pay for the license to use that image, and I learned that they actually didn’t because they were able to stay under the radar for the duration of the band and were able to use the image without being sued. This is kind of what I expect/plan to happen if I were to use my idea. It’s for an independent, DIY punk record I’m just making from my living room. It’s not going to become famous or make any money. And the still shot is from a scene in the movie “Jacob’s Ladder” in which the character is hallucinating. The actual image I wanna use for my album cover is only in the movie for like a second, quite literally a “blink and you’ll miss it” kinda thing.
However, I learned that later on they used altered versions for any reissues of the album. Heavily photoshopped and edited.
That parts that’s confusing me is that I thought it’s still considered copyrighted if an image is taken from a movie and photoshopped/edited?
Will I need to worry about having to change the album cover if I use a heavily photoshopped version of the movie frame? Or if I’m not expecting to making any money or even get lots of listens for my music, should I just not even bother or worry about it since it’s not likely to even get noticed?
If I wanted to make music like this on a budget, what would I need?
I’ve been wanting to get into making synthwave/ebm/ambient music for years and i finally have a means to start saving money and buying my own keyboards, synths, and drum machines.
I don’t have a laptop or a computer at the moment, but i want to start making music similar to Filmmaker. If I wanted to start making this kind of music on a budget of $800-$1000, as a beginner to this genre of music, what would be a good start? I’d prefer simple and analog.
I see a little bit of myself in Bear and it kinda scares me
Obviously, not to the full extent as his entire character in the movie, but his personality traits. He’s awkward, hesitant, nervous, one could argue he’s not very bright neither. He’s afraid to talk about his feelings with girls and deal with things head-on.
I have pushed away people I have crushes on to avoid the very situation that he finds himself in when he’s driving Nikki home after their night drinking. I have pushed away good friends who are close to me because I’d feel myself catching feelings for them and I’d be too fearful to have that conversation with them.
This movie is one of the reasons why I love film. The perspective that it can give you can pull you out of your own biases and make you look at things more objectively.
This movie made me wanna work on myself and reflect because I see a little too much of myself in Bear and it kinda freaks me out because now I’m starting too feel immense sadness and guilt for how I’ve treated certain people in my life just because of my own fear and insecurities.
This choreography sequence in the latest movie was sick
Anyone else feel like the King Jarrod vs Shao Kahn fight in MK2 was surprisingly pretty sick? Idk who the actor for King Jarrod is or if he’s a martial artist/stunt person, but I really liked his fight! Even if it was short lived. This sequence with him slicing up Shao Kahn was sick!
Movies with gun dealing scenes
Currently writing a short film about a black market arms dealer gone wrong. I don’t know why but I’ve always really liked scenes like the one in Taxi Driver where Travis gets his pistols, or in Breaking Bad when Walt first meets the guy he buys his revolver from. There’s another scene in Better Call Saul where Mike meets the same arms dealer to buy a rifle.
I’m looking for other movies that have scenes that feel similar. Or movies that are also about black market arms dealing. (Preferable more serious ones, I already know of White Boy Rick and the other comedy movie that I can’t remember the name of).
Yall better keep the same energy for Sanguisugabog as yall did for End It, or anything band that does the same in the future
Or is it only a problem if a black man is making the call out? Since yall wanna pull the “what if banana man was a PoC or a LGBT!”
Did they dilate Sheryl Lee’s eyes for this scene?
Sheryl Lee’s acting in Fire Walk With Me is absolutely phenomenal. Especially in this particular scene where she’s talking to Harold about Bob and her diary. It’s the intensity of her face and eyes that gets me, and the fact that her voice is shaking and hoarse and it even looks like she’s slightly trembling in fear while she’s talking to him.
I was curious if there’s any behind the scenes trivia regarding whether or not they dilated Sheryl Lee’s eyes for this shot? Her stare is just so intense and wide
The production of this song scratches such an itch for me but I am unfamiliar with trip-hop outside of this album and some of Portishead’s stuff. I’m looking for hip-hop/rappers/other trip-hop artists that use the same kind of sound
I’m looking for synth heavy music that sounds like this. To me Filmmaker sounds like an evil version of Aphex Twin, or like as if someone took the angriest Nine Inch Nails songs and used only the synths and drum machines and removed the vocals. It scratches such a niche itch and I love it.
