Trailer for The Backdreams. A feature length fanedit film where the Backrooms take place in dreams.
The Backdreams: Come True
My idea was relatively simple. A backrooms movie that takes place in the protagonists dreams. Affecting their waking life along the way.
Most movies I could think to fit this mold fell apart narratively as the movie goes on. What’s the point of the dreams? How do they correlate to waking life in a film that has nothing to do with the backrooms? Well, that part was tricky and I knew I’d need to pull something good off to make it work at all. Just as I was about to give up, my research led me to a film I had never even heard about. And it was Perfect. Just what I was looking for.
The movie is called “Come True” and it deals with dreams. That’s all I’ll say!
The footage I worked into this movie is mostly from one YouTube video titled \*Backrooms - Recurring Dream (Found Footage)” by S Animations\*
\*Though I also used a small portion of clips from Kane Pixels Backrooms YouTube videos. So a big shout out to these videos and artists!\*
\*Some context on story - A young woman’s troubling dreams lead her to a group eager to understand them.\*
\*I had a lot of fun working on this one. Very happy with how well this turned out, I hope you all give it a shot and enjoy!\*
\*Edit notes: I cut some scenes out to help expedite the story. Cut out the original ending and an unnecessary sex scene.\*
\*Original runtime: 1 hour 45 minutes\*
Backdreams runtime: 1 hour 28 minutes
Preview of The Backdreams. A feature length fanedit film where the Backrooms take place in someone’s dreams.
The Backdreams: Come True
Hello everyone, it’s been awhile since my last contribution. I’m always playing with ideas in my head for a unique fanedit and the majority of them are just not feasible.
But sometimes, sometimes you find just the right film/s to help bring a special idea to life.
My idea was relatively simple. A backrooms movie that takes place in the protagonists dreams. Affecting their waking life along the way.

Earliest “backrooms” videos, before the 2019 phenomenon
I’ve been on a hunt for videos that would have been considered backrooms related if seen today.
So far I’ve found these.
Let me know if you now of any more and post them in the comments!
//Check these out. All of them are almost 20 years old.

Investigating “Time Slips”
I started looking into reported “time slip” cases from around the world, including Bold Street in Liverpool, the Versailles incident, and modern accounts shared online. Instead of focusing on whether they are real or not, I wanted to look for common patterns between the reports.
One thing that stood out is how similar many of the stories are before the experience happens.
A lot of people are not looking for anything paranormal. They are usually doing something completely normal like,
Walking somewhere.
Running an errand.
Commuting.
Sightseeing.
Taking a shortcut.
The experience seems to interrupt everyday life rather than happen when someone is actively searching for it.
Another interesting pattern is the mental state before the event. Many witnesses describe being:
Deep in thought.
Distracted.
Daydreaming.
Listening to music.
Focused on reaching a destination.
Slightly confused or taking an unfamiliar route.
The moment it happens also seems important. A lot of reports begin during some kind of transition
Turning a corner.
Entering a street.
Crossing a bridge.
Walking through a doorway or gate.
Moving from one environment into another.
The actual experiences are also surprisingly similar. People often report / A sudden change in atmosphere.
Sounds becoming quiet or muffled.
The environment feeling “wrong.”
Seeing ordinary scenes from another time period.
What is interesting is that they usually don’t see major historical events. They see normal everyday life. People walking, shops, streets, cars, and clothing from another era.
The ending is also usually abrupt. Something happens, they turn around, hear something, look away, or suddenly everything returns to normal.
The biggest pattern I’m noticing is this / A lot of reported time slips seem to happen during a moment where a person’s attention, movement, and environment are all changing at the same time.
The question I’m trying to answer is whether there is an actual common denominator behind these reports.
Are these experiences more likely to happen during certain states of mind?
Are certain locations more likely?
Does the time of day matter?
Are historic places important, or are they just more memorable?
I’m trying to compile as many cases as possible and compare them instead of just looking at the famous stories.
Curious what everyone thinks. Has anyone noticed similar patterns in time slip reports?
Dream recall during random moments in my day.
For as long as I can remember (in my 30s) a good majority of my dreams come to me as if they were memories. The only reason I know it was a dream is because whatever it is that I am remembering is just way to fantastic. Grounded in reality but just out of the realm of possibility for me.
Some examples would be riding home from school on the bus one day in high school I remember with much excitement that my parents got me a car as a surprise! A real shift in my vibe on the bus was clocked lol like I was riding the bus for the last time and all was bliss looking forward to my new whip.
Maybe about 30 seconds of this does it start to dawn on me that there is just no way this is happening lol the more I think about it, the more it just does not make since. No occasion called for it. No reason. And lo and behold, this “memory” never was real as I quickly suspected.
Another time in my adulthood, I remember to myself how my dog got off the leash and took off through my neighborhood, he clearly jumped over the fence to start this whole getaway. Again, probably about 30 seconds into this “memory” am I starting to think “how in tf did my dog jump over my fence like that? How? The logistics on that jump do no make since. Again… never happened.
This has happened many more times through my life, though not very frequent. It just happens here and there. As a pretty logical individual, I’ve just deduced these “memories” to dreams.
Anyone else have a dream recall like this or similar??
I found something… found a place. It's massive in there. And just goes on and on... All these rooms.
Any Pumpkin Head Fanedits??
From either of the movies, or all of them!
On the Silver Globe - the Blind Uchiha cut
For my latest fan edit I present to you, my interpretation of On The Silver Globe, one of the most ambitious, raw and intricate sci-fi’s of its time (1976)
First of all, this movie as it was released is not finished. The film at around 84% complete was shut down by the polish government. All costumes and footage was ordered to be destroyed and the director was issued an order to leave the country within 48 hours. For over 10 years, the complete portions of this film existed in attics and basements. It was not until much later that everything was scrapped together and the film was presented in a fragmented fashion. The missing scenes were filled in with a narrator reading what could have been.
My approach to this edit was to present this film in as complete a way as possible. Some scenes are missing music and sound effects (ambient noise, battle sounds) so I took the liberty of completely overhauling the soundtrack and adding in needed sound effects. There is one portion of a song I left in from the original, it totals about a minute or less. So every song you hear was handpicked by me, sound painted over every absolutely stunning scene.
Every frame is a painting, the cinematography in this film is just surreal. Remember that this was filmed in 1976, it is just so way ahead of its time in many ways. Truly a marvel.
I will tell you right now, this film is HEAVY.
Every line of dialogue rolls off the tongue in true Shakespearean style. A creative decision that will elevate this movie for some, and maybe clutter it for others. Very deep thoughts and ideas being displayed in this movie from beginning to end. For me, this is where the movies real charm comes from.
The missing scenes where a narrator voices what was supposed to be filmed have been removed. For me it takes you out of the experience and further complicates an already hard to interpret story. I have added in my own way of bridging together these scenes in the form of some text that will appear here and there throughout the movie.
Cool tidbit about the first portion of this film. Much of it was filmed in a found footage style. Literally like watching GoPro footage, but in 1976! This means they were handling some pretty big and expensive cameras in some very innovative ways. Groundbreaking stuff.
This movie at its core is about the human condition and how our nature to be free is often contradicted by our own dogmas we as a society create.
I hope I have done this phenomenal piece of work some justice. This movie was originally slated for release around the same year the first Star Wars come out. The vibe could not be any different lol but it makes you wonder what could have been.
This film is truly a piece of history. Everyone who is a fan of cinema should experience it at least once.
I hope to see you all on The Silver Globe,
Cheers!

Die Nibelungen: Kriemhild Psychedelic Crusade
Part two of my Psychedelic cut of Die Nibelungen is complete and it is a bonafide crusade for revenge.
As with my part 1, I have heavily edited this film. No story elements are lost, only saved time and pacing. Every cut and transition has been made with my sound painting process in mind. Soundtrack has been completely replaced with personally hand picked songs.
This movie is all about Kriemhild’s (the queen) malignant quest for revenge. She has an aura about her that makes everyone bend. She uses this to her upmost advantage in getting revenge in the name of her late husband, Siegfried (focus of the first film)
As long as her revenge is fulfilled she cares not of the consequences. Her obsession drives her. Witness it grow and take over. A stark difference from the “white queen” presented in part 1.
Her presence is dense and intermediating! Dripping in Dark Side energy… She is like a mix between Princess Amidala and Darth Vader. She exudes a VERY intense air about her anytime she is on screen. You just feel the anger and animosity exuding from her performance!!
As with part 1, I hope you can’t look away until the end. Every cut has a thought behind it, (almost) every lyric has a match within the scenes taking place. Synchronicity is always my aim.
If you have not seen part 1 yet, please feel free to DM me and I will make sure you get both cuts!
Kick back, get some snacks/drink, indulge in some coffee/a bowl/whatever else… and get ready for the Psychedelic Crusade !

Die Nibelungen: Siegfried’s Psychedelic Epic
Die Nibelungen: Siegfried’s Psychedelic Epic
My latest fanedit is of a silent film from 1924.
Die Nibelungen: Siegfried
A two part fantasy epic. Directed and filmed in Germany.
I took the liberty of replacing the entire soundtrack. Each song handpicked by me and sound painted onto these beautiful scenes in a fashion that hopefully makes them feel like they have always belonged…
In doing so, I'm also able to deliver this movie in a much more animated and less dragged out fashion as opposed to its original delivery. This movie was shot and edited in 1924! It's amazing work, it really is. but l've made this movie MUCH more tighter. Its original runtime was like 2hr&30 mins. 8 got it down to 1 hour and 7 mins🎞️
(Think of a Wizard of Oz: The dark side of the moon experience)
I implement my "Sound Painting" technique throughout the entire film. Every single cut and transition is to match whatever portion the current song is on.
Something about synchronization on the audio and the visuals creates this unique handshake that just does something to the brain. Hooking you into a hypnotic trance that you can't look away from... well that's the goal
The ebb and flow of it all… I think this is my favorite piece of art I have made yet. It achieves such precise synchronicity. If I couldn’t match the cuts with the music, I would match the action displayed with the music. Even down to the lyrics of the song as they are sung… matching with what is being show within scene. It’s beautiful.
Some of these synchronicity were designed and pre planned by me. Others just… fell into my lap while I was in the zone.
These silent films, near the end of their run before full blown dialogue and sound effects were introduced, these silent films had almost developed a new language. They became so adapt at telling a story with visuals alone that the cinematography, lightning and scene transitions alone could carry one’s attention and imagination from beginning to end.
Fritz Lang of 1924 has crafted something incredible for its time! This film is the very first to tackle bringing a full blown dragon to life. In 1924, that is no small feat.
This film has it all, I mean… it’s HAD to set the tone for many many popular hero’s and themes. In the main character I can see
He-man and Liono (thundercats)… even some Conan. We got some big game of thrones vibes going on here, real “beef in the kingdom” stuff.
Even the beautiful actors from 1924… they resemble actors of today! (Synchronicity)
We got:
\-Rhea Seehorn (pluribus, better call Saul)
\-Elijah Wood (lord of the rings, etc)
\-Michael Shannon (take shelter, man of steal)
\[Lock them in for the Remake!\]
Let me know if you spot some more!
I’ve tried my best to take this stunning piece of cinematography and bring it to life in a fresh and captivating way. Such a film deserves some new life breathed into it. I really hope you enjoy and this and can’t look away until the end.
Please, Enjoy! And look out for part 2 in the near future.
