EZ-Flash Air is being ruined appearently

August 12 I started playing Pokémon LeafGreen on my EZ-Flash Air. I was super happy, I'm re-playing the Pokémon games in the order I've played back then. But yesterday my save was completly deleted. Tried to start it again but every time I boot the game, there was that "save is corrupted, loading previous save file" message. I tried to figure it out how to fix it and I found out they release a new version (firmware 4 kernel 1.05), so I updated it, like, if there's a problem, surely an update might fix it!! :D

It got even worse. Now every single game crashes/freezes/glitches a few minutes after starting and with a HELL OF A LOUD sound. Also, sometimes the audio suddenly stop playing, even with game going on.

I've been using my EZ Air for the last 5 months and it has been pretty good so far, even discovering the many negative reviews. Now seems like my day has come, and DAMN this flashcard ruined the beggining of this game for me for the next few years... I tried to start it and play many times, tried to replace the battery, switch to Mode B, and even downgrade the kernel to 1.04, no results...

I'm seeing many people with this problem... is there any fix? Since the Pokémon Bank closure announcement, I'm even more hyped to play the games from gen 1~7, but this thing is ruining so much my day... THIS SUCKS

"You don't need a Trinitron to enjoy CRTs", is this really true? should I try to get the CRT TV from my childhood?

Oiooi! :>

Recently my dad got me my childhood PS2, which I thought it was gone! Unfortunately, the same didn't happen with the old CRT TV I used to play on :/ this one they gave away. Since I revived the PS2, I've been using it with a PS2-to-HDMI and a capture card to transmit it to OBS, and then I'm using some shadders to emulate the CRT feeling (it's been great so far).

Even tho I like SO MUCH how old games looks at CRT TVs, I'm not that into the hobby (I'm more into handhelds/LCD screens lol). But I've been thinking: should I try to find one that's the same model as the one I had? Afaik it's kinda bad, it's from a domestic brand (Brasil!), composite/RF, mono audio only, and I remember it was kinda difficult to read some texts... It's called 'HPS-1497' from the 'CCE' brand.

Recently I got into a post (this one) about not needing a Trinitron/best of the best CRT TV to enjoy it, and the specific "the best CRT is the one you can get your hands on" comment really caught my attention. Is this really true? Should I try to find and buy it then? (I'm don't really know about TV specs or what should I say for you to know if it's worth it or not, but if it helps you can read its manual here, just need to translate the page)

I'm kinda afraid of spending the money for the nostalgia, just to "meeeh that's actually uglier than OBS/the ones I've see on the internet", and then put it aside and keep using OBS. I'd probably only use it to play PS2/PS1 games (I already have a GIANT "want-to-play" list).

(I found these photos on the internet, sadly from already sold listings...)

Pokémon Dash not booting on DS Pico

Hi! I was looking forward to play this but it's not working :/ it just boots with these white screens

I'm using DS Pico with latest firmware/launcher/loader/everything update.

Already tried downloading the ROM from different sources (cough cough, I mean, dump the ROM from different cartridges that I own, cough cough), and even different regions, but none of them worked...

do u know what's wrong? (other than me wanting to play this thing lol)

Edit: I found this

Is there something I can do with it? it feels like an alien language to me, so idek if there's a solution there of if it's left unsolved...

This little guy was fasting from updates for the last 3 months. What did I miss?

Did I miss any incredible new feature/plugin/etc? I updated it and already noticed the touch screen! :)

also, kinda funny how the sticker somehow got Instagram colors in this angle lol

Need some lost PSP manuals 🥺

When I play retro games, I have the habit of reading the manual/instruction booklet/guide first (that one that usually comes with the box). Most of them I could find on internet, but there are some that I searched all over the internet but couldn't find anywhere :( these ones are:

  • Me & My Katamari (this one is kinda urgent since I want to play it soon...)
  • Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep
  • Gurumin: A Monstruous Adventure
  • Assassins Creed: Bloodlines
  • Trails in the Sky
  • Undead Knights

If you have some of them, could you send the PDF or scan the physical copy and send them here?

thanks in advance! :>

a PlayStation refference? on GBA??

Leaks here and there and everyone talking about but wtf have you seen this? a PlayStation refference? on Chain of Memories? the Game Boy Advance one? the GBA that is from Nintendo??

That's funny, I never heard someone mentioning it. I even just looked it up rn and still couldn't find anyone talking about...

am I crazy? (I was crazy once)

u/Bea__Nabi — 29 days ago

Ok you guys convinced me, here's my 2026 rank so far!

I've enjoyed all of them! (maybe Kirby not that much lol sorry) but it has been a nice year so far :>

PS¹: Sapphire was my childhood game, I've beaten it like 20 times in emulator back then, and now I'm playing it for the first time on my brand new GBA! Biggest childhood dream

PS²: I'm currently playing AC7, so it may move up or down when I finish it

PS³: I loved SO MUCH Rhythm Heaven!... but it's not a game for me :( I think it's my dropped game with the highest rating, so so so good, even tho I don't plan on coming back for now

Can buying and using DLC jets negatively affect the main campaign experience?

I just received AC7 as a gift from a friend on Steam! I had already tried it out for free on Switch (through official ways, of course!) and it already had some of the DLC aircraft, and I really liked the Falken. Now I've been looking at the other DLCs, and I’m liked the Nosferatu and XFA-27 as well.

But I’d like to know: could this negatively affect my campaign progression? When I tried it out, I played the first few missions and basically ignored the base-game aircraft, using only Falken. Is this a bad thing?

Help someone who is undecided about buying a PSP 🥺

Ok so long story short, recently I completed my long-desired Nintendo handheld collection! But we know the greed, we know about the "the desire to have and the boredom of possessing" thingy... and yep, I still have some money left over and I want a PSP now x) but firstly I have some (pretty random) questions to ask...

Question 1: The LCD screen

Two important things about me:
- I prefer to play games the way they were meant to be experienced (especially for handheld consoles, since they have their own screens).
- I LOVE SO MUCH that pixel grid/screen door effect/aliased edges of low-res LCD screens!! especially the DS ones. The feeling of "a big pixel art".

Currently my main way to play PSP games is on my modded Switch with PPSSPP (which I like to call "PSP Pro" lol). It runs pretty well, but it bothers me that the Switch doesn't have enough resolution to perfectly emulate the LCD filter without leaving some of that "moiré pattern"...

Moiré pattern aside, I configured the graphics trying to be as faithful as possible to my concept of what a real PSP screen would look like, and I really liked how it turned out. But since I've never touched a PSP in my life, I don't know how accurate it is, and I'd like some feedback on that.

  • Images 1 through 5 in the post show the games 'Jeanne d'Arc', 'Castlevania Dracula X Chronicles' and 'Kingdom Hearts BBS' running on my "PSP Pro".
  • Images 6 through 10 show the games 'Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days', 'Avalon Code' and 'Animal Crossing: Wild World' running on my DS, as an example of the "pixel grid" thingy that I like.

Does the PSP games feels like that? Or does it have some kind of anti-aliasing that removes that more jaggy style? Is the pixel grid pretty visible? (I know these are useless questions but I really love it...). Should I just be content with playing on emulator?

Question 2: 1000/2000 or 3000?

I know the main question here is actually "ghosting or scanlines?". I've seen people saying things ranging from "THIS IS HORRIBLE IT EVEN KILLED MY FAMILY" to "it doesn't bother me at all" about both problems, which made me even more undecided 💀

Right now I've pretty much already decided I prefer the 3000, considering this video. Even tho I prefer the 1000/2000 colors, the scanline thingy feels less anoying than the ghosting, and even charming in a way. But yep, I don't really know if I'll like it until I see it.

I like more the 3000's roundy buttons, and I'd prefer the bulky grip of the 1000, but these are the least of it. All the other differences between each version seemed insignificant to me overall. I don't care about the AV output, RAM, or WiFi connection (oh, and the Street one is SO ugly 😭 I'll never even touch one of these).

Question 3: Games?

Unlike other handhelds, I feel there are very few games that I would like to play on the PSP.

GBC, GBA, DS, 3DS, PSP... I searched MANY recommendations and lists of "best games for this console" for these out there. But unlike the Nintendo ones, where I managed to find around 40~60 games that I would like to play or at least try, I barely managed to find only 10 for the PSP. Is this normal? Do you guys have any recommendations?

Just for the record, the PSP games I'm interesed are:

  • Jeanne d'Arc (which I've already finished)
  • Kigdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep
  • Castlevania: Dracula X Chronicles
  • Ys III: The Oath in Felghana
  • God of War: Chains of Olympus
  • God of War: Ghost of Sparta
  • Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of the Lions (instead of playing the PS1 version)
  • Persona 3 Portable (instead of playing the cuz of the female protagonist)
  • Undead Knight
  • Ace Combat: Skies of Deception
  • Killzone Liberation

I feel like I'm even pushing it a bit with the last 3. Anything else seems skippable to me honestly... I'd also play some PS1 games on it, but I was already planning to play them on my PS2 anyways... honestly I'd buy a PSP just to play only those 10ish games, but would that be the "larp" thing or something? lol

Welp, I think that's it... thanks in advance for the help! :> and thanks even more if you read all of this without just "I'm not reading allat" or "mucho texto" lol

Is this little guy legit?

The best part is that the seller even recommended me this sub when he assured me that it's legit, so there's a small chance he'll see this post 💀 if that's the case, oioi! :v

Just posting this to be 100% sure before buying it

How can I properly remove this metal bezel?

How can I properly remove this metal bezel from the DSi bottom screen?

Long story short, I bought an ITA TFT screen mod kit for my GBA (a mod that basically installs a DSi bottom screen on the GBA), but the screen came damaged. I bought a normal DSi replacement bottom screen to substitute it, but it come with this metal thingy around it, and I need to remove it in order to install with the kit

Is there a simple way to do that without damaging the screen? 🥺 thanks in advance!

Need advices from the experts! I REALLY want Latias! 🥺

Hi! can you help me?

I want to get Latinas so so so much with the Soul Dew event, but I'm not very used to playing in a hardcore way (I even got surprised when I came here and saw that there's a whole "metagame" on Sleep lol). I'll explain my currently situation down below, can I get some coaching?

https://preview.redd.it/iq5wyxcext4h1.png?width=736&format=png&auto=webp&s=35d8a57bddab4f785d824e63cf4adec7c1fa857b

In short, my main questions are:

- What should I do this week? Stock ingredients or focus on level up better meals (but spend ingredients on that)?

- What should I do on the event weeks? level up better meals or rely on my current best ones?

- Should I focus on meals or berries? (from what I've seen here... is this a sensitive topic? lol)

- Can I manipulate what the meal request will be? My current best meal is a dessert, I thought about using e-zzz travel tickets until I get dessert as request

Important infos:

  • Progress in the areas:

I've only unlocked Greengress Isle, Cyan Beach, Taupe Hollow and most recently Snowdrop Tundra. The only way I can get it is on Greengrass Isle at Master 9. My current strength record there is Master 8 and I'm currently on the are bonus 50% cap.

I'm currently at Taupe Hollow (just to increase my area bonus there, that is currently at 40%), but I intend to move to Greengrass next week! but... hat should I do rn? Stock ingredients or focus on level up better meals (but spend ingredients on that)?

https://preview.redd.it/6odrcqjhnt4h1.png?width=1080&format=png&auto=webp&s=5bc63258e41e8d2edee937785ada834d9cf94562

  • My Pokémon:

https://preview.redd.it/c85pf9lint4h1.png?width=1080&format=png&auto=webp&s=fd5c8618d7c8d3811666d3c1153b031dfdc40181

These are currently my beloved highest-level Pokémon. I don't know if I should say/show more about that, but if you need specific screenshots of them or any info I can provide it :>

  • Progress with ingredients:

My current inventory limit for ingredients is 420.

I currently can't obtain:
- Greengrass Corn
- Glossy Avocado
- Large Leek
- Plum Pumpkin
- Slowpoke Tail

Also, I can't get in an efficient way (not enough to always have plenty):
- Soft Potato
- Soothing Cacao
- Rousing Coffee
- Tasty Mushroom

The ingredients I haven't mentioned I can obtain more efficiently!

  • Progress with recipes:

Curries/Stews:

Salads (sad situation I know 💀):

https://preview.redd.it/ddhbb245vt4h1.png?width=979&format=png&auto=webp&s=7a141b2067bbd7d2f1d758af758665451e56e919

Desserts/Drinks:

I recently did some research and discovered that there are better recipes I could be making:

https://preview.redd.it/xl3c2xo0wt4h1.png?width=1940&format=png&auto=webp&s=2e281b85e5034575f5eb44192b6fbb6935095486

https://preview.redd.it/3j72yc2bwt4h1.png?width=2024&format=png&auto=webp&s=a239d38ba695cb099c635d2cf664eeeb518b7c05

On the event weeks, should I focus on leveling up those meals or rely on my current best ones?

  • Situation with general resources:

- I have the Premium Pass, so I have access to the premium exchange and I can farm sleep points pretty quick

- Currently I don't have many dream shards or handy candies. I could buy 3 handy candies M, but dream shards would still be an obstacle, so no Pokémon level ups :/

- Low on diamonds, I'm not that rich 💔

- 5 Ingredient Tickets S and one Ingredient Ticket M. I've been accumulating them to help filling the pot

- 2 Helper Whistles. I don't use these very often, but I think it'll help at least a little

- 11 Energy Pillows. I don't really know the utility of these lol, my Pokémon are always with decent energy

EDIT: OMG I also forgor to say that I have the most important things: the Latinas Incense and a Master Ball bisquit!

Thanks in advance! Let's see what this saga will bring me x)
^(and if you read all of this without just "I'm not reading allat" or "mucho texto", even more thanks LOL :>)

Did I get softlocked?

First time playing the game. I was revisiting Wonderland trying to find some chests left behind.

After entering the Bizarre Room, many little shadows appeared, and I started killing all of the waves as they kept appearing. At some point those big shadows spawned, and after a while, all of them disappeared (I just found out they disappear after hitting Sora).

But I'm still in a "battle state" where I can't leave the room, drink the pots, talk to the Doorknob or interact with the flower (which I don't even know what it does 😭)

is this a softlock? :')

u/Bea__Nabi — 3 months ago

Why did he have to do it twice?? 😭😭😭

beforehand, If anyone's interested, I'm playing it on my ps2, sending the image to my pc with a "ps2 to hdmi" converter and a cheap capture card, and then I add the CRT filter through OBS (with the 'Retro Effects' shaders)

first time playing btw :> loving the game
