What is McCaffrey's Food Market Known For?

I'm not too familair with McCaffrey's other then remembering that people recommend their catered meals for Thanksgiving. What else are they known for that stand out from competitors such as Wegmans, Whole Foods etc.?

For example, Wegman's has a great bakery, and the best store bought bagels. Good quality meats although bit pricey. I love their own brand Kombucha and BBQ chips. Plus they have a great international section that has my favorite Milka chocolate bars, Bounty, and various good UK and Canadian chocolates.

I've walked through McCaffrey's (Newtown) twice now and just curious what the fuss is about.

Quality Blackout Cellular Shades?

I am desperately looking for quality Blackout Celluar Shades for the bedroom and the baby room. I have spent HOURS researching over the weeks and the old "Go To" Blinds Dot Com and SelectBlinds have gone severely downhill past 1-2 years. Costco has such mixed, mainly negative reviews as of late. What is a good place to order custom sized blackout cellular shades for pretty normal sized windows?

I already have blackout curtains but light still leaks through, especially for the main master bedroom window that has a window AC where it blows the curtains around leaking light.

Thank You!

Top 5 Canadian Only Chips?

Going to Ontario, Canada to visit family this weekend. What are your absolute favorite Canadian only chips?

My favorite overall has been Ruffle All Dressed. Although they are sold in the US, they are just terrible compared to the Canadian version. I really enjoyed Lay's Ketchup as well which reminded me of Hostess Ketchup that I grew up when I lived in Canada as a child.

I saw this ranking of the best All Dressed https://chatelaine.com/food/canadas-best-all-dressed-chip-a-definitive-ranking/ and President's Choice came #1. Anyone know what store/grocery store I can find those in? Also, typically what grocery stores tend to have the best selection of Chips? For example, in my area in PA the best selection by far is typically at Acme grocery stores.

Thank You!

Kid Friendly Hotel With Falls View Near Clifton Hill?

I have a 3 year old and 1 year old. We plan to see Niagara for one night. I want to maximize fun for my kids and so want to be walking distance from Clifton Hill. What would be the best hotel in that area that has close on-site parking, has an nice view of the Canadian falls and just clean/nice?

It seems every hotel in Niagara has bad reviews about something but then again people tend to only write reviews when there are issues. I was thinking Sheraton Fallsview Hotel but would hate to pay the extra money for the "Superior high floor" falls room and then receive a room with no window due to running out of those rooms per some reviews.

Appreciate some suggestions, thank you!

What are all taxes and how to pay for an Upper Darby Resident?

It's a really long story but pretty much I will be taking over property taxes and all other types of taxes for my in-laws that live and own a home in Upper Darby. They are elderly, and my FIL that took care of all the bills has dimensha and can't remember much.

Can anyone point me to the right direction on what taxes/fees are required? Their house is not part of an HOA we know that at least.

Thank You!

Local Car Enthusiast Club?

Does anyone happen to know of any local car enthusiast clubs? I am aware of various bigger brand specific clubs like Porsche Club of America but looking for something more local preferably one that meets on occasion within Bucks. I'm just not into classic cars as I assume that is the more common ones in the area with the amount I see driving around in groups.

Also, what is the main cars and coffee in the area?

Thanks!

G80 M3 Vs. F90 M5 with 2 Car Seats?

I'm turning 40 soon and I guess that "midlife" crisis has hit. I've always adored cars since I was a kid and grew up reading various car magazines watched all of the older Top Gear UK episodes when it was the OG trio. I just never bought a car that I was proud about and always bought what was practical.

I have a pretty busy life with 1 full time job and a part time business. I have a 1 year old and a 3 year old and pretty much the only time I leave the house is to pick up/drop offs to daycare, library, the park and pick up food 90% of the time. I am now in the early stages of thinking of a M5 (the E60 V10 was my ultimate dream car) but I just want something under warranty and more modern. I also hear the G80 M3 is more fun to drive/nimble. I live in an interesting area where one direction is all highways/straights and the other side is all back roads in farm country and bendy roads along the river.

Thought I'd ask with 2 young kids that both require baby seats what everyone thoughts are? I would still keep our Toyota Sienna for long trips and winters.

i7-12700K - DDR4-3200 or DDR4-3600 for Native 1:1 Speeds?

Hello,

I have a infant with no sleep and can't figure this out (embarrassingly) so would appreciate some input. I'm building a new fileserver + Plex (Unraid) which will be paired with an i7-12700K CPU and Asrock Z790 Pro RS/D4 motherboard.

I happen to have a spare G.Skills 32GB DDR4-3200 (F4-3200C16D-32GTZR) kit. However, for native non-overclocking speed to match my CPU 1:1 would I need DDR4-3600? If I disable XMP in my BIOS it automatically sets the RAM speed to 2133MHZ, could that be the native speed?

Intel BIOS Setup Recommendations?

Doing my first unRAID build. I have an Asrock Z790 pro RS/D4 and Intel i7-12700k setup.

Things I've done so far:

  • Update to latest BIOS version, then reset to defaults.
  • Enable XMP for RAM (DDR4 PC3200 CL16) which is stable with full Memtest86 and Memtest86+ scans
  • Disable Secure Boot
  • Enable hardware virtualization features, including IOMMU

Are there any other tweaks/settings I should do like power settings or disable any unused devices like sound? This server will be running 24/7 in basement. I don't have anything overclocked. First build in over a decade so wanted to ask before I install unRAID later this long weekend. I'm super excited!

Replace In-Wall Unit or Upgrade to Ductless Mini Split? Our AC Died.

Our home has central air. However, the master bedroom was an extension above the garage and for some reason they only extended ducts to the master bathroom.

As a result, the master bedroom has an In-Wall AC unit goes through the wall underneath the window. It is Friedrich brand that does both AC and heating. We live in PA and need both. The Friedrich is crapping out and now won't even turn on in AC mode. It is probably 10 years old.

Should I replace the in-wall unit with another? It has a 240V power outlet already installed next to the unit. Or should I suck it up and upgrade to a Ductless In-Wall Unit?

We only use the master bedroom at night to sleep primarily. My wife needs the room really cold to sleep properly. How much would I be saving on electricity per month if I went Ductless?

Thank you!

Good Eats around Fashion District?

I have to go to the Fashion District later today for a meeting. I hardly ever go to the city as I have two young toddlers. Wanted to treat myself to something that is simply delicious. I don't really have a budget per say but I'm open to anything like quality sushi, ethnic food, etc. Just no steak or Italian food please. Fine with hole in the wall too as long as it's delicious.

Sadly, one caveat is that I probably won't be able wrap up meeting until after 9PM possibly.

Thanks!

Should I Order Food 30-40 Minutes Away? How to Calculate Fair Tip?

Hello,

I have pretty much tried all the good food spots that are within 22 minute (I calculate time with Waze). I am sick and tired of all the local options at this point. I'm a foody but with an infant and toddler it is too difficult to drive further out for me and family to dine. I've been debating if I should start ordering from places that are 30-40 minutes away. Would that be Ok? If so I have some follow-up questions:

  1. How should tip be calculated, off time to deliver or distance? For example, if a restaurant is 30 minutes away from my location, what is a reasonable tip where the driver would be happy to drive that far?
  2. I live near the border of another state, New Jersey, where there is a $1-$1.50 toll each way to cross the bridge into PA. Does DoorDash understand that and add it into the price to reimburse the driver or is that another thing to consider when I am tipping? I've yet to order from NJ but I'd like to.
  3. How does the delivery driver match work? For example, if I order food in the city will DoorDash try to find a driver that is already near that restaurant or will it look for a driver closer/halfway to where I live in the suburbs? I would feel bad if they had to drive from closer to my area then all the way into the city then have to come all the way into my area again.

Appreciate any advice/feedback!

Honest/Competent Mechanic in Richboro/Newtown Area that Allow Customer Provided Parts?

I've been using the same mechanic since I moved to the area in 2019. He is really competent but all of a sudden he has been dishonest the last two times so time to move on sadly. It's a shame loyalty means nothing these days. All of our cars are Japanese.

I mainly do my own work but with young kids there are certain things I rather just have someone else do them going forward. The mechanic must accept parts provided by me as I prefer to use OEM or high quality after market. I don't mind cost if they are simply honest and do the work right and use torque wrenches.

Thanks!

I’m staying near Radio City for 2 days for work. I live in the most boring suburb in PA where the best options is Italian and sadly Five Guys. This is my first time away from my toddlers/wife in years and I legit just want to eat the best things around up to 20 minute walk for my lunches, dinner and breakfast.

Any suggestions? I already had The Kati Roll company, Adele’s and Los Tacos #1 so far and all were great. Anything that is to die for in the sweets section? Any other places that are amazing, I’ll eat anything except pork or too much dairy as I’m lactose intolerant.

Thank you!
