Do you use odorless mineral spirits for parts washing?

I used to fill my parts washer with 2 gallons of odorless mineral spirits, because it seemed to be an effective an affordable degreaser that didn't evaporate or give me a headache.
I shelved the basin when pump burned out , and reverted back to spraying my parts clean with brakleen, WD-40, foamy engine degreaser, and Orange Zep.
I recall a higher level of cleaning efficiency using a parts washer, so I've revived the unit.
Before I fork out $45 on 2 gallons of OMS, I'm curious to know. Do you know of a better liquid parts degreaser for around the same price?
I'd prefer a vat of un-concentrated foodservice grade D-limonene, but am not in the mood to spend $200+ for it. Am
pondering the idea of using Orange Zep, but it doesnt smell like oranges, and something tells me it will turn plastic and rubber parts to goo.
Been meaning to get around to informing myself about ultrasonic parts washing, so I don't know the effectiveness of that option, but considering I already have my old parts washer ready to go , I'd rather just fill it and get to scrubbing .

Pardon my longwinded longness , and big thanks for sharing opinions .

Valve adjustment on 2003 Element 189k was a GREAT idea.

Friend has an Element named Rikku , stumbling idle, stalling when cold , no ticking from the valves , plugs were good, vac needle was jigglin about, STFT LTFT -14< . At 189k , never had an adjustment, figgled it would do some good. It did indeed. Intake valves were in range, but all the exhaust valves were significantly tight. Took me a few hours the first time , will be a breeze next time .$50-ish Fram gasket , seals, and grommet set from Nappy Auto Parts was not so impressive , baggy gasket, lame seals and ended up reusing the original grommets . Would have been better off forking out $100 for dealer gasket and seals .
Checked up on Rikku after a week or two, she's sealed up fine and runs like a spring chicken. Still needs motor mounts , tranny mounts , inner outer tie rods and lower control arms /ball joints, but motor be a purrin.

Just wanted to share adding to the group consensus verifying the confirmation of how affordable and beneficial a simple valve adjustmant is on these 2.4 K24(?) and 3.0 k30(?) motors.

AITAH for naysaying my boyfriend's "Big Ideas"

My (38) boyfriend (42) often comes up with big ideas to make side cash. Today he dug up one of our beautiful fruiting tomato plants to make room for his coworker. Now there is a 22 foot trailer on the lawn with a dude living in it. I am speechless. My boyfriend has bumped his head. I let him know about zoning in this neighborhood and the laws regarding people living in your front yard and he's perfectly happy to charge this guy 1000 bucks/month until the neighbors make a complain.
I'm troubled with my emotions about this because it is not necessary for me to respond negatively. The guy wont be out there for long, chances are he's a cool dude who won't cause a ruckus.
I'd like to emit positivity towards some of my boyfriends asinine ideas , or at least fake it. Instead I chose, once again, to crap on my boyfriend's scheme .He is of the opinion that the dude might be out there many months until his inevitable 86'ing. I'm like watafak man.
