My friend is visiting from out of town, we want to go Whale Watching, which tours are recommended?

Title.

I was wondering, though: I have another friend who has a boat. Would it not be possible to go out in the boat to the same area ourselves? Does anyone know where the tours usually go?

Can I join any pickleball game at South Arm community park courts?

I have my own paddle and balls, but no one to play with. I live close by and was wondering if I can go there and join random games? How does it work?

[BOOKS] So about Shift

I just read the chapter where Troy is walking by the cryochambers and he sees his wife name and passes out (?).

So if I understood it right, Troy = Donald, and they put him in deep sleep in a cryochamber and then woke him up to be an overseer for all the Silos for 6 months and they live happily ever after(?).
Why would they wake him up at that moment, only 70 years after the Silos were finished?

And it appears that no one in Silo 1 really remembers who they are, and they have been given fake identities.

Coworker told me to STFU in front of my manager, what do I do?

Two of my coworkers, my manager and I were waiting for an uber outside the office. I suggested we play 21 questions to pass the time (something I do with friends), and a coworker said "STFU" to me. I did not say anything, nor did my manager or my other coworker. I am not good at reacting in the moment, and I am new to the role, it is a contract role, and I want to fit in the team.

This coworker is often raunchy, and he uses vulgar language in the office. This rubbed me wrong though and I feel myself being rather submissive due to my tenuous position as a new hire and on a contract.
Any advice?

They should extend the Canada Line so it covers all of Nr 3 road down to Steveston Hwy.

I recently moved here from Europe, and I am honestly puzzled by the decision to make Brighouse the final station when more than half of all housing is below Granville Ave. This forces people to take the bus instead of being able to enter a metro station close to home.

Look at a city like Montreal, where the lines go to the edges of the city, leaving no citizen behind.

Career options for someone with a MSc in Urban Environmental Management?

Did my Master's in the Netherlands at Wageningen University in Urban Environmental Management, and I specialized in Environmental Economics. I live in Canada now, and I currently work in the Fintech sector, but I want to switch to an environmental career. Any advice?

Whenever I apply for jobs here and I am supposed to select my Master's program, it does not exist in the drop-down list. I am unsure if this is hurting my chances.

My boss wants me to ask more questions about the business and our operations, I struggle with comming up with questions, any advice?

I have been in this role for a couple of months now, learning everything I can and generally doing a good job (no major complaints, just a few mistakes as I learn).

Had our 1-on-1 today, and he asked me if I had any questions about the business or our operations. I did not have any specific questions. I feel I disappointed him...?

I know I am not incompetent, but this makes me feel incompetent.

How do you guys stand the idea of grinding for 40+ years and then dying?

I am early in my career but I swear the idea of going through life in this mundane, uninspiring routine is killing me inside. Every time I think about tomorrow or next week I get depressed. I am not sure how people cope with this.

What are your thoughts on the Fitness World on Landsdowne Rd?

I used to go there and I found the equipment and the people going there to be good. However, the personnel working there were probably the most pretentious and rude individuals that I have ever had to interact with.

One of the guys working there used to hug two machines at the same time and get upset if you tried using one while he was using the other. He also used to check himself and his abs out in the mirror constantly.

Another girl working the counter got upset with me because I sat in one of the massage chairs while waiting for a friend, since I did not have the "right" membership, and only people with that specific membership are allowed to sit there.

I know I sound like I am complaining, and I will admit that I am comparing it to other gyms (Anytime Fitness, Oval, Goodlife, etc.), but it made me feel very unwelcome every time I went, like I have not felt in other gyms. Regardless, I am curious about other people's experiences.

[Books] I am on the last chapters of the first book (Wool) and...

It is crazy to me how many answers are given away in the first book that still have not been answered in the show up until now.

- I now know why the Silos were created.

- I know who did it and when it happened.

- I now know who the "AI" voice is, and the way it is portrayed in the show is completely different than the books.

I, of course, do not know if many of these "answers" are bogus and will change in the next two books.

Another thing I find interesting is that the story in the books is very different from the show. The show basically took the biggest plot points and then changed the details. Lukas Kyle story is completly different. Sims has a bigger role in the show than in the books. George and Julie have a backstory in the show that does not exist at all in such detail in the books. Solo and Julie's relationship is compeltly different. Solo's story is different, and his character is much more mature and thoughtful in the books compared to the show. I could go on and on but you get the idea.

The thing is, I do not mind the changes. In fact, I think it is a great, tightly written show. The show is simply, "What if X happened instead of Y?" for the story.

A girl that my friend was previously interested in recentely asked me if I wanted to go to the beach together, should I tell my friend?

My friend was interested in her, but it did not lead anywhere, and from what he told me, she was not interested in him. This was a couple of months back. I only met her once before this weekend, and after the weekend, she asked me if I wanted to go to the beach next weekend together to swim. I feel she is interested in me (she laughs at everything I say, I am funny, but I am not THAT funny), and I am not really sure what to do. Would it be bad if I went with her and something happened between us? Should I tell my friend about this?

Do Narcissists not understand hypocrisy?

A lot of the time, I have noticed that they talk down to and berate someone (including me). But when they receive criticism themselves, they get hurt and want you to stop pointing it out. They also seem to carry it for a while and then bring it up later, "You called me X".

It dumbfounds me how they can do unto others but not want to have it done unto them?
Are they incapable of seeing the hypocrisy?

[Books] I am halfway through the first book and...

...the difference between the book and the first season is staggering. The show's first season is much more fleshed out and expands greatly on the characters, their relationships and the world in general before Julie leaves the Silo.
The way the book does it is the equivalent of throwing your kid into the deep water and saying, "Swim", to teach them to swim.

Although I have not gotten through the entire book, I am not sure if there is more world-building as the book progresses.

What are some subtle signs you are doing a good job/bad job?

Started a new position a couple of months ago. It has been going well, and I am steadily learning; however, my manager is giving me shit work to do, with a couple of more important projects here and there. When I say "shit work", it is meanial work that needs to be done, and he does not want to do.

I have asked how he feels about my work so far in our 1-one-1s, and he is happy with my work. However, from experience, this does not mean much as talk is cheap.

I want to do a good job, but I know I am not perfect either. Any help is appreciated.
