I Have an idea, its not pretty, but can u check it out?

I was thinking that some kids do bad stuff on their computers, so what if I made something so that when turned on the parents teachers or person in power only sees what they want to see. I know its not pretty to admit u might use this but could u try, because I want to see if this idea has a market.

TESTING for my app to help blind people navigate!

Hi, I am a teen, and my grandpa is blind. sometimes he will tell me of this problem where if he goes somewhere without company he can't find the entrance to the building. My goal is to make an app to help people identify doors and help blind people navigate to them. Currently I am gathering data and refining a prompt to make sure the ai can actually see the doors in frame. If anyone has any comments or feedback, and if you are blind and you see this somehow, your feedback would be great! I would really love testing, and u can go to this link : https://expo.dev/accounts/iggythegoat/projects/beacon/updates/436dabc9-e0c6-47f4-ad37-4fbd5cff2532 It is not 100 percent safe so I would encourage people that can see to test it first.

Making an app to help blind people navigate

I started this project a few days ago and it has been going pretty well, and I just wanted to keep you guys updated. So far you can go into the app take a picture of a door and the app will give you directions towards the door. There are a few problems, because the app is not very good at giving precise directions or at taking in objects in the path of the user. If you have any ideas or feedback on how the prompt could be better please let me know and I will continue to give weekly updates!

Blind or visually impaired users: how do you find building entrances after GPS gets you there?

Hi everyone,

I'm a 13-year-old developer who is interested in building technology that helps people navigate the world more independently. I'm currently exploring an app idea and would love to hear from people who are blind or visually impaired before I build anything.

One problem I've heard about is that GPS can get you to the correct building, but not necessarily to the actual entrance. I'm trying to understand whether this is a common problem and how people currently deal with it.

Some questions:

  • Have you ever arrived at a business or building and had trouble finding the entrance?
  • How often does this happen?
  • How do you usually solve it?
  • What's the most frustrating part of the experience?
  • Would an app that helped locate entrances be useful?
  • Would you trust an app to guide you to an entrance, or would you still prefer assistance from a person?
  • Are there any existing apps or tools that already solve this problem well?

I'm not selling anything and I don't have a product yet. I'm just trying to learn from real experiences and figure out whether this is a problem worth spending my summer building a solution for.

Thank you for any feedback or stories you're willing to share.

entrances after GPS gets you there?

I'm researching a possible app idea and would love feedback from people who are blind or visually impaired.

Have you ever used GPS to get to a business, only to have trouble finding the actual entrance once you arrive?

If so:

  • How often does this happen?
  • How do you currently solve it?
  • What's the most frustrating part?
  • Would an app that helped you locate entrances or retrace your steps be useful?
  • Would you trust it enough to use regularly?

I'm not trying to sell anything. I'm just trying to understand whether this is a real problem worth building a solution for.

Any experiences or thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

What are the best API keys for vision models

I am making an app for blind people to help them find doorways and I need a vision model that is cheap but good enough to find and direct them to a entrance.

I feel like I am relying too heavily on AI for programming, what can I do to stop myself before it is to late?

I am a teen and I like making stuff with code. At the start I would actually try to code everything myself, but when I discovered that AI could do it 10x better and faster, I sort of gave up on hand coding. Now I can barely understand any of the code AI gives me, and I feel really sad about that. I know the job market is changing, and it is more about understanding the system architecture and stuff and less hand coding, and I am just really overwhelmed on what to do.

How do you usually find building entrances after GPS gets you close to a building if you are blind?

I’m trying to understand how people navigate this part of the journey in daily life.

GPS usually gets you to the right building, but the final part—finding the actual entrance—can still be difficult depending on the environment.

I’d be interested in hearing how people handle this in practice, especially in places like busy cities or large buildings.

What kinds of strategies or cues do you typically rely on once you arrive at a destination?
