I like adding more cthulhu mythos-y stuff to Eberron, and wanted to share my thoughts on Elder Signs:

Elder signs are present in some places in the Shadow Marches, known to a few remote druidic sects and some members of the Silver Flame. However, the Church of the Silver Flame keeps this knowledge secret, because Elder Signs do not differentiate. They'll block anything from outside Eberron, including angels and beings from Siberys. Theoretically, if you managed to properly construct and activate an Elder Sign inside Flamekeep, the light of the flame would vanish from the temple.

Hey y'all. I love the Arrow, hate that it got taken off Netflix. I especially hate it because Netflix seems to be the only streaming service that bothers having their shows available in multiple languages. So I want to buy the disks but want to be sure they have Spanish.

I am trying to learn Spanish and watching shows in it is a key way I do that.

I haven't seen any threads on this for several years and my installation of Fallout doesn't even have a directx folder so I think the advice might be outdated.

The game is basically unplayable right now. I have the latest version of Fallout and the script extender, I've verified the files and reinstalled the script extender after, I've rerun LOOT and wyre bash. I'm not sure what else I can do. I'll put my load order in the comments so you don't need to scroll past it.

Update: It's cell offset generator that was the problem. Disabling it and deleting the cache it made fixed the problem

Hi yall. I just did some quick calculations treating each sim day as the equivalent of three months. I defined the child/teen boundary at 12 and the teen/young adult at 19 because I like the teen stage, and I set the minimum lifespan of elders at 75 years.

This gave me 4 days in the baby stage, 16 in toddler, 28 for child and teen, 84 for young adult, 100 for adult, and 40 for elder. A total of 300 days. If I change it so each day in an adult life stage is the equivalent of 4 months, I have only 244 days instead. Currently I'm torn, because 300 days sounds like a lot but I really liked keeping it mostly proportional. What do y'all think? Does anyone have other customized age spans they'd like to share?

The fact we don't hear anything about Romulan Pon Farr could easily be explained by us not knowing any Romulans well enough. But think about it. Vulcans are basically Puritans about sexual urges, considering them failures of logic. The repression makes the already intense Pon Farr even more so. While Romulans don't pretend to be paragons of logic to the same extent so they are better at actually handling their urges and there is less built up.

This has happened two times in the last two days. There are always plenty of seats for groups of 2 to 4 but only one or two tables for groups of 6 to 8. And yet two individual people made the choice to plop them and their laptops on the big tables, leaving my family to have to push two tables together.

And yeah it's not a big deal in the grand scheme of things, but you know what is an even lesser deal? Sitting in the smallest table that'll fit your group in the first place!

Sometimes people in my family need to sleep on a chair (congestion, dealing with insomnia, etc), but the amount of lights generated by devices has gone up so much in the last ten years due to those goddamn "we're powered" indicator lights. You know what else will tell me whether a device is powered? If it fucking turns on!

My new headphones have an indicator. My laptop cable has an indicator (a bright blue one, the worst for disrupting sleep cycles). The recharge station for our switch and wii remotes have indicators. And there's no way to turn it off!

Also on a related note: who decided that phones need to light up their screen when fully charged. Don't most people charge their phones overnight, in the room they sleep in?

Like the title says. I was thinking about streaming some Babylon 5 to a server I'm in for those interested. They often do movie nights so it might be OK, but before I start planning it I wanted to know which episodes y'all would think would be best? The first 2 are good, but I was thinking about like By any means necessary, for example.

I definitely don't wanna put on one past episode 13.

Hey y'all. I like showing Babylon 5 to people, but I haven't been able to do so for about a month. Are there any reactors y'all can recommend to me? I just saw all of funnylilgalreacts on youtube, and am interested in finding more. If anyone had a good experience with one of the others on YouTube that could save me a lot of time and I'd appreciate it.

I hope this is the right flair. But basically I want to make a mod that gives the player a hidden perk when they unlock different shouts, like stagger resistance for unrelenting force, bonus to persuade and intimidate for bend will, etc. Is this actually feasible, and if so what's the best way to go about it? I know perks would be better than scripting to avoid script lag and also cause I don't understand papyrus, but I couldn't find a guide to doing something like this.

I did end up playing the remaster, in part hoping the lockpicking mini game would be better bit also I went into Oblivion underequipped in my save in the original and forgot to save basically the whole time beforehand. My character is Tira, a Breton bard who's ended up using destruction a lot.

Anyway imo the worst part is the aforementioned lockpicking mini game. I can not for the life of me catch the audio cue that's supposed to tell me to set the tumbler. My only other problem is that I couldn't find beginner alteration spells.

But I love the story so far, so far being me just having gotten the mythic dawn books. I haven't really done too many side quests yet, though I have joined the mages guild and met Sinderion. And I have finally found an organic off-ramp for my character to do several side quest per portion of the main quest (she's now convinced the mythic dawn are watching/scrying on her specifically and wants to throw them off the trail.

The persuasion mini game is pretty neat, the tiny details are fantastic, and I am extremely amused by the novel problem of there not being enough slaughterfish. Also, the side characters. I forget his name but the wood elf who special ordered book 3 of the Mythic Dawn books because he thought himself an expert in Daedric cults only to flip the fuck out when he realizes he's associated himself with the emperor's assassins, the 'what's the fine for necrophilia? Asking for a friend' lady, they're so funny but like not in an immersion breaking way.

Can't wait to kill more Daedra, geek out over things I heard about from Skyrim, and learn more about Jean-Luc Picard's bastard!

If there was a crowd of people singing a song during a traumatic incident, how broad would the trigger be likely to be? Just that song? Crowds singing in general? Other songs with a similar rhythm?

The context is that a pop song was being sung by a group of people who'd been spurred into a riot against the military. This riot saved the characters in question but not before they were targeted by a squad of said military people.

Hey y'all, I've been playing Spore most of my life by this point and most of the game is pretty easy at this point. My one problem is Civ stage in Hard mode, especially when I'm trying to change my type (like military to religious for example). So I keep getting stuck right before space stage.

Anyone have any tips for how to do civ stage in hard mode? It seems like the nation on my starting continent that hates me gets a massive buff to income as well as spawning 30 seconds after I do.

I know she's from before the current Empire, and I think she's from before the first Empire, so I think that's like first era? She's definitely from before all the other Elder Scrolls games except maybe online.

So were dragonborn and dragons just a thing when she got buried? My character's a Dunmer, am I the first Dunmer she's seen? What was the world like for her?

Hey y'all. I've seen people mention filling up the family bin to increase the variety of sims who can move in. How should I go about that? Just let the families I make sit there and maybe show up in other worlds? I've noticed I've had a bias towards making female sims so I'll need to correct that. Would these sims also fill the role of townie? Should I make.maids and babysitter sims?

I was just talking with my fiancee about how interesting that would be. Garak would be in a very unusual position, being a former high ranking Obsidian Order operative but also having lived with Starfleet personnel and Bajorans for 7 years. He'd be trying to build a better Cardassia. You could also do something interesting with Garak and Bashir's relationship because at first they'd have to keep it a secret to avoid weakening Garak's position (and minimize the threat to Julian's life). Not out of homophobia, but because when rebuilding Cardassia into something better Garak would take inspiration from the Federation and it'd be really easy for people to use their relationship to claim Garak's been corrupted/suborned by the Federation. So it could be homophobia coded as many of the same tropes could apply, but it wouldn't actually be homophobia.

Does something like this exist?

'Clash' instead of 'war', 'nullify' instead of 'kill'. I get that it was part of a trend for a while to use words differently to make worlds feel more alien/dystopian, and most of it doesn't fit with the TikTok censoring algorithm, but it's so funny to me whenever they say 'nullify'.
