LIAN LI B4-mATX Build Impressions

Finally got my B4 build finished and set up in the living room.

I went with the B4 Wood Black + Aero Deck so I could run the case vertically. Since it’s connected to the living room TV, I wanted something compact that could fit into the entertainment center without looking like a big gaming tower.

The wood front ended up matching the furniture way better than I expected. With the RGB on it still looks like a gaming PC, but from across the room it blends in really well.

Build experience
The hardest part was definitely cable management.
I’m using a lot of Corsair hardware, so between the fan cables, RGB wiring, Commander Core, AIO cables and PSU cables, there was a lot to hide in a small space.
The RTX 3080 also uses 3x8-pin PCIe power. I’m running two PCIe cables from the PSU and using the daisy-chain connector on the second cable for the third 8-pin. It works fine, but that area was difficult to make look as clean as I wanted.

360mm AIO fitment
I was also able to fit my Corsair H150i 360mm AIO.
For anyone wondering about clearance, the radiator uses 3x120mm fans and is around 397mm long end-to-end.
It fits, but it was extremely tight. I had to carefully flex/bend part of the frame slightly to get enough clearance to slide the radiator in.

Once it was installed, everything mounted fine.
So if you’re planning to use a 360mm AIO in the B4, I’d definitely check the actual radiator length instead of only looking for “360mm” compatibility.

Aero Deck
The Aero Deck worked really well for my setup.
Running the B4 vertically gives it a small footprint and made it much easier to fit into the entertainment center.
Overall, the build took some trial and error, especially with the radiator and Corsair wiring, but I’m really happy with how it turned out.

Specs
Case: LIAN LI B4-mATX Wood Black
Aero Deck: Vertical configuration
PSU: LIAN LI SP1000P 1000W Black
CPU: Intel Core i9-12900K
CPU Cooler: Corsair iCUE H150i 360mm AIO
Radiator: 360mm / 3x120mm / ~397mm long
Motherboard: MSI MPG Z790I EDGE WIFI
GPU: EVGA GeForce RTX 3080 FTW3
RAM: Corsair Dominator DDR5 32GB 5200MHz
Storage: WD_BLACK M.2 SSD
Case Fans: Corsair LL120 RGB
Radiator Fans: Stock Corsair 120mm fans
Controller: Corsair Commander Core

The B4-mATX and SP1000P were provided by LIAN LI as part of the B4-mATX UGC campaign.

TL;DR: Really happy with the B4, especially with the Aero Deck running it vertically. The main challenges were managing all the Corsair wiring and fitting my ~397mm-long Corsair 360mm radiator. It fits, but clearance is very tight.

Dashboard defect

Seems some kind of layer under the lens is failing due to heat or age or both. Anyone know which part of the display needs replacing to fix this issue?

Finally pulled the trigger on a 83” C5 from Sam’s Club

Thanks to this Reddit I went to multiple Sam’s Club locations and none of them had a 83” until the last one I went to. But they had it for $3000 still. So I decided wasn’t really feeling the price. Came back a week later and they had it down to $2499. Decided to pull the trigger and I love it. Upgraded from a C9 65”. It’s insane the size difference! Picture is awesome. Want to get a soundbar eventually. Also will be keeping an eye out at Sam’s Club because if it goes down in price again I can get a price adjustment. Could’ve waited but I didn’t want them to sell out or anything. Happy with the price. Never seen it that low anywhere else.

Roatan reef name

We did a cruise ship dive excursion a couple of days ago in Roatan and I’m not sure of the exact name of the reef to log in the PADI app. I’m including screenshots showing the exact spot on the map. Any help would be appreciated.

Latency spike/FPS drop every 10 seconds almost exactly. (Quest 3, Virtual Desktop)

While using my Quest 3 with Virtual Desktop I am getting a latency spike accompanied by frame drop and audio cutout almost exactly every 10 seconds. Happens while gaming or just using the virtual desktop. This started after moving to a new location in which I am using the same Xfinity XB8 gateway with a dedicated wifi 6 SSID. My headset is currently the only device connected to the wifi and my pc is plugged directly into the gateway. I tried using Steam Link and the problem still occurs there and is even more noticeable. Tried all different bitrates and codecs and it still occurs. Tried rolling back to previous Nvidia drivers but no fix. Something worth noting is that I was also recently prompted to update my controllers, maybe there was a firmware update that caused this? At my wits end on what to do to fix this, it's basically unusable knowing there will always be a stutter every 10 seconds.

Specs:

RTX 4070 Super

Ryzen 7 9800X3D

64gb DDR5

Best Option For Space

Budget $1-2k.
Goal : Immersive Sound w/o Rears
More Details Below

I have an upstairs loft area that I am trying to create a theater like feel in. I unfortunately can’t do a full system as I have a 1 year old and the space does not allow rears due to where stairs are located. Have the 98 inch QM8K mainly watch sports & movies. Currently have Sonos arc ultra still within the return window. I do like it however haven’t been wowed by immersion of it. Obviously asking a lot for immersive sound in open space without rears. I don’t know if sub would help greatly or if wouldn’t be worth price for my setup. Was also looking into Samsung s90f using rears as front facing speaking or would that be a waste. Also looking at Sony at-9000 with sub as option.

77” G5 finally all set up.

Picked this up last week for $2800. Hoped to price match after for something lower on a better sale, but to no avail.

Best Buy’s 5 year warranty came in clutch on my 65” GX. Had delamination symptoms three months before the warranty was up. Let me keep the old tv until it dies for good and paid me out what I had it in minus the taxes and warranty cost.

This thing is spectacular. I don’t know what it is, maybe the brightness, but the G5 pops compared to the old GX and my other B2.

Which soundbar would be good enough for the room to get good bass and dolby atmos? Mostly will be used for watching movies.

So we are doing several remodeling projects around the house and it is time for a new tv and soundbar. We are currently running an old Samsung with a Bose Soundtouch 300 sounbar. Both have been good for the past 10+ years. Max size tv is a 55" due to the width of the cabinet. This was designed 20 years ago for a dlp tv to sit in the opening behind the current tv.

Main use is for watching streaming services using a 3rd party device, currently a Firestick. Music is not played often through the soundbar. With the vaulted ceilings of the room using atmos is out, no ceiling to bounce the sound off of. I will need a sounbar that this feature can be turned off. Also, I do not have a place to put powered rear speakers either.

I am looking at Samsung OLEDs for the room. Maybe a S95H or F. If I go that route I am looking at Samsung soundbars like the Q990F - which I read that you can take the rears and reconfigure them to make the wide front firing speakers. I am also looking at S801D due to the ultra thin design, or the SQ90H. I am not opposed to looking at other televisions since it is just being used as a monitor. Same with looking at soundbars outside the Samsung ecosystem.

Outside of Samsung I have looked at the Sennheiser AMBEO, but it is pricey.

One feature I really like with my Bose is the 'Green light' function for voice clarity.

With the shape of the room what would you suggest or use if this was your room.

I am also thinking about mounting the new soundbar above the tv so I can lower the new tv and few inches.

My landlord wouldn’t allow me to install the wires through the walls so I’ll have to hide them another way eventually, overall I am very happy with it, it looks great!!
