Solo dev here, making a retro-FPS set in Eastern Europe, 1960s. You wake up in a graveyard behind an abandoned factory and have to fight through crowds of monsters to find out what happened.
Solo dev here again, making a PSX-inspired retro shooter set in Eastern Europe, 1960s. Signage is fully сyrillic now per last post's feedback, curious if it reads fine mid-gameplay, or if it needs bigger/simpler lettering.
After collecting the feedback, I've decided to go with full cyrillic signage since it fits the game's vibe more accurately. So here are some screenshots with the updated signage, plus a few updates to the enemy art design.
Still got some improvements and TODOs left before the demo release (a short opening cutscene, some VFX/SFX polishing, etc.) Appreciate all the feedback, it genuinely shaped this decision. More updates soon!

Edit: Thanks for the feedback! Seems like the general feeling is that mixing latin and cyrillic isn't working. Going to redo the signage using just one single script
Solo dev here, making a PSX-inspired retro shooter set in Eastern Europe, 1960s. You fight through crowds of enemies to piece your memory back together. Been adding painted signage to the buildings (see title question), curious what the community thinks.
Still polishing the new industrial level, but somehow ended up adding a cabin in the woods along the way. One thing leads to another. Wishlist on Steam

Working on interior spaces for abandoned buildings. Still a WIP, but the atmosphere is coming together
Currently working on an outdoor level and trying to capture that abandoned industrial atmosphere.
The setup: a railcar from the depot drops you straight into toxic waters, rusting structures and an abandoned shack
