Put Rounting Number as 0 and use SWIFT code if you expect international transfers

Just finally got my refund today after 6 months of waiting and bank rejection multiple times.

Last week I read some article online about an overseas bank cannot process a U.S routing number and it advised to use Swiftcode and account number only instead.

May worth it to give a try and good luck to you all

Samsung Electronics on Thursday reported third-quarter preliminary operating profit of 107.40 trillion won ($80.2 billion), surging past 100 trillion won for the first time in the company’s history as booming demand for artificial intelligence continues to fuel its chips business.

Samsung, the world’s largest memory chipmaker, has benefited from surging demand for memory used in AI infrastructure. In the second quarter, the company posted record revenue of 171.5 trillion won and record operating profit of 89.5 trillion won, driven by its memory business.
The company has also stepped up investments and partnerships tied to AI. In September, Samsung announced a strategic partnership with French artificial intelligence startup Mistral AI, with plans to deploy the startup’s AI models across its semiconductor operations.

Bloom Energy’s new facility an indicator of very strong demand, say RBC Capital

RBC Capital keeps an Outperform rating and $335 on Bloom Energy (). The company’s Fremont facility adds 158K sq ft of floor space and compares to the company’s current footprint of 164k sq ft where Bloom is currently ramping manufacturing capacity, the analyst tells investors in a research note.

The lease of additional floor space for manufacturing is a positive indicator of very strong demand and highlights the strength of Bloom’s pipeline, the firm added.

The capacity expansion could indicate demand that is above its current forecast, RBC stated

Cybersecurity sector skyrocketed amid AI worries and regulation

The pure-play security names are catching a sector bid on fresh artificial intelligence (AI) safety warnings from two frontier lab CEOs over the weekend, on the reasoning that a more dangerous threat environment expands security spending. CrowdStrike is the clearest expression of the theme, given how directly its products are sold against AI-driven cyber threats.

"One thing everyone knows is cyber security will be the biggest benefactor from this AI boom," said Eddie Ghabour, CEO of Key Advisors Wealth Management. "It's the next phase of the market for AI stocks. The more and more AI is adopted, the higher need for cybersecurity."

All are up double digit 10% + on Monday

Change Bank Account for possible international refund wire transfer

I have Ally bank account and few weeks ago just received a partial of my refund.

However, after few more week of waiting and heard nothing.

I decided to send them a follow up and got a response that there’s been an issue and I need to resubmit bank details, ensuring that all fields, including routing number, SWIFT code, and account number.

I then looked up and found out that Ally bank does not handle international wire transfers- so I decided to change it to Capial one bank now.

Hopefully, it would work and not some bullshit FIFA plot to hold fan money longer than expected

No bank is perfect !

Lately whenever I see post/ comments of Redditor saying I will move money out of Sofi to another “ABCD… bank” for whatever the reasons , I just laughed.

Because same thing is happening to others bank in their thread with the Redditor posting complain about having bad experiences as well 🤣and saying they are too done with this bank.

So at the end of the day, who’s opinions should we listen to ?

I’m not trying to diss anyone here , but maybe people should look at the bigger pictures instead of chasing the next shiny object or get blindsided

Don’t give up

A Little bit About My Background

I moved to America at the age of 13 as a first-generation immigrant with my mom and my brother , without knowing any English background . Starting over in a completely new country, culture, school system and learn everything by yourself has been pretty rough.

Throughout the journey and even until now, I never would have imagined that I would make it this far academically.

Because:

  1. I choose Engineering as a random manjor to pursue because at the time I felt more comfortable with math more than other areas

  2. My ACT test scores from high school and the testing placement before community college enrollment were evidences of how far behind I was compared to my Engineering peers. It’s not the worse but it’s below the national average for someone who is pursuing a STEM degrees

While most High School graduates- Engineering students start college of as Calculus 1 - I have to take Intermediate Algebra 3, College Algebra 1,2,3 and Trigonometry… lol which take me back to back summers class to catch up

And then, my English skills were still far from where I wanted them to be, and It did not improve significantly up until my second year of college where I could actually communicate decently with people and felt somewhat confident . Still, I often struggled to understand lectures, textbooks, write assignments at higher level, and communicate my thoughts as clearly as I wanted to, so I always try my best to follow the pattern, compare assignments with peers, learning by looking stuff up online and do well on the test, as well as never missed an assignment to be able to pass classes.

There were many moments when I questioned whether higher education was even something I could realistically achieve because I always felt out of places. Especially during my years of transferring to an accredited University , and got into some of the hard core concepts classes. I still have nightmares thinking Mechanics of Material, heat transfer, Dynamics, … etc

Despite those challenges, I just put my head down, keep going/ showing up and hoping for the best because frankly I have nothing else in my life to look forward to and I guess now looking back , it’s just my way of coping of accepting my reality and foggy future ahead.
Every semester, I learned a little more, improved a little more, and things started to connect and make more sense.

Fast forward till now, I can’t believe that I am only four months away from completing my bachelor’s degree !

Reaching this point means more to me than simply earning a degree. It represents years of adapting, struggling, continuing learning, and refusing to give up when things were difficult.

The hardest part of this journey for me was just simply try to “ Wake up , get out of bed for 1 more day and continue to show up when there’s nothing else or a reason to fight for, and trust blindly in this thing called faith or better future ahead”

I guess, It’s okay if you don’t know anything or feel lost and it’s okay if life is unfair sometimes , but just keep showing up , continuing to learn, making new connections and be kind to everyone wil get you closer to where you want to be.

To end the post:

I wish all my engineering peers the best of luck on their journeys. I hope you guys achieve your dreams and find success wherever life takes you.

1st time

Interesting flavor but I wouldn’t drink it again.

It’s like you drinking “sour patch candy” that on steroids.

Holy shit , it’s really sour then sweet of caramel then the extreme carbonation hit you .

I burped the whole time drinking this.

Sofi bank transfer is really fast

I did bank transfer for 6k from Ally Bank to Sofi and it’s already in my Sofi checking account 4 hours later.

I have never used any bank transfer that quick because it’s typically need 2-4 days for the transfer to complete as far as I remember.

Is this just Sofi or anywhere else because I’m really impressed with the speed.

South Korean index soared 16% - Biggest 1 day gain in its history

https://apnews.com/article/stock-markets-rates-korea-ai-oil-e31b3a442bcb957a53f1823ef21e73e8

South Korea’s Kospi index jumped more than 16% on Friday, tracking gains on Wall Streetas artificial intelligence-related stocks bounced back after losses earlier this week.

U.S. futures edged higher and oil prices rose.
In early Asian trading, the Kospi surged at the open and ratcheted up, trading 16.5% higher at 6,515.40. Shares of South Korean technology giant Samsung Electronics surged 24.8%, while memory chipmaker SK Hynix soared 27.8%.

The Kospi index had sunk more than 17% in the previous three days as investors dumped technology stocks in part over worries about an AI bubble and rising competition from chipmaking and AI rivals in China.
The rebound followed Microsoft’s report of stronger than expected profits for the last quarter. Microsoft’s shares soared 15.5% for its best day in nearly 18 years. The strong earnings were taken as a signal that big spending on AI is translating into profits.
