Subclass 189 Visa – Has Anyone Applied as CEO/Managing Director with Family Business Experience?

I am a 30-year-old female with a Bachelor’s degree in Electronics & Communication Engineering and a Master’s degree in International Business. I have 6 years of experience working as a Director across multiple family-owned companies, where I have been responsible for business operations, management, strategic planning, and decision-making.

I am planning to apply for the Australian Skilled Independent Visa (Subclass 189) under occupations such as Chief Executive Officer or Managing Director. Since my experience is primarily within family-owned businesses, I would like to understand how this type of experience is assessed for skilled migration purposes and what supporting documents are generally required to demonstrate genuine managerial and executive responsibilities.

I run a sheet metal shop in Bangalore — thinking of building a self-serve quoting tool for researchers and prototype builders. Would you use it?

Hey everyone, I run a sheet metal fabrication shop in Bangalore, India. We do laser cutting, bending, and finishing. Most of our current work is bulk domestic orders. But I’m thinking of pivoting to serve researchers, PhD students, and hardware prototype builders who need low MOQ (even 1-5 pieces) with fast turnaround. The idea: • Upload your DXF or STEP file • Get an instant cost estimate • Place order online, no calls, no negotiation • Delivery in 2-3 days within Bangalore, ship anywhere in India Why I think this could work: • Nobody in India is doing self-serve quoting for prototypes • Researchers don’t want to haggle — they want fast and reliable • 1-piece MOQ that larger factories reject Honest questions for this community: 1. If you needed a custom sheet metal part for a prototype, what’s your current process? How painful is it? 2. Would instant online quoting make you more likely to order? 3. What would make you trust a new vendor you’ve never used before? 4. What’s a fair price premium for 1-piece MOQ — 2x, 3x, 5x standard rate? 5. Any features you’d want that current services don’t offer? Not selling anything, genuinely trying to validate before I invest more time building this out. Brutal honesty appreciated.

A truck/tipper hit my vehicle from behind. When I confronted the driver, he fled the scene. I managed to take a photo of the truck with the number plate. I called the police, and they arrived within 15 minutes, took all the details, and asked me to come to the station tomorrow. They also mentioned they would call the truck owner/driver to be present.

Has anyone been in a similar situation? What should I discuss, and what points should I raise in front of the police and the truck owner to strengthen my case?
