Is HSR Layout becoming a hub for fake reviews?

Has anyone else noticed this in HSR Layout? Almost every service business salons, spas, restaurants, pet care, etc. seems to be absolutely pumped with 5-star reviews.
What makes it suspicious is that whenever there’s a bad review, I often see 10+ five-star reviews immediately following it. Some places have 1,000+ reviews, but when I actually read them, many feel very fake single word reviews.
It’s getting harder to trust Google reviews when choosing a local business.
Is it just HSR Layout, or is this happening across Bangalore as well? Would be interested to hear if others have noticed the same thing.

How do you practice ashtanga?

I have learnt primary series of ashtanga from a short term course at Hrishikesh India. Now i do it on my own. Is it necessary to have a community or group while practicing. Any suggestions welcome.

Looking for a peaceful farm plot around Bengaluru—not an investment. Recommendations only from actual owners/investors. No ROI gyan, please.

Looking for recommendations from people who have actually bought a farm plot around Bengaluru.

I’m not looking for ROI, appreciation, or investment advice. My goal is a home away from home.

My priorities are:
-Secluded and peaceful surroundings
-Clear legal title
-Good locality
-Trusted developer/builder

Please recommend only if you’ve personally invested or own a farm plot. I’d love to hear about your experience—the good and the bad.
No ROI discussions, please. 🙂

Overheard at the office today… the irony was priceless. North/South Indian

I overheard this in the office today.
Someone from (Delhi/UP/Bihar) was loudly saying how South Indians are quieter, don’t use gaalis much, and that it’s better to stay in a South Indian-majority apartment. Fair enough.
The funny part? He ended almost every sentence with “bencho.” 😄
Nothing wrong with appreciating southern culture, but maybe pick up one of the habits you’re praising too. Just a light-hearted observation😋

No honking day

Today I tried something different: a strict no honking day.

Lately I’ve been getting way too frustrated with Bengaluru traffic, especially the way some auto drivers and delivery riders drive even well dressed IT folks. I found myself honking constantly, throwing my hands up in frustration, trying to squeeze into every little gap, and generally losing my cool.

Today, I decided to do the exact opposite. I let other vehicles merge, avoided honking, and consciously ignored traffic violations around me. I know I can’t change how Bengaluru drives, but I can change how I react to it.

I reached the office 3–5 minutes later than usual, but it was absolutely worth it. I felt far less stressed, stayed calm throughout the commute, and ended up being more productive at work. It honestly felt like my blood pressure thanked me.

I’m going to keep doing this. Maybe the biggest traffic hack isn’t finding a faster route—it’s protecting your own peace of mind.

Just me, my girlfriend, good coffee, and zero startup pitches/laptops cafes in HSR

I’m an IT guy myself, and after a long day of work, the last thing I want is to sit in a café surrounded by people coding, taking meetings, or pitching startup ideas. 😅

I’m looking for a cozy café around HSR where I can just relax with my girlfriend, sip some good coffee, have snacks, and enjoy a peaceful evening. Any recommendations for places that aren’t full of laptops and work conversations?

High altitude motor bike ride

Did anyone do high altitude trekking or bike ride while you were just pregnant. I mean 5 days into missing your periods?! If yes did baby and pregnancy turn out good?

Question for fellow IT folks

After spending hours in Bengaluru traffic, dealing with potholes, broken footpaths, aggressive auto/cab drivers, frequent road rage, and seeing corruption everywhere, how many of you search for ways to move out of country for IT jobs?

Off late post 10 years of experience, thoughts are coming almost every alternate days. I’m curious how common this feeling is among people in tech.

Zero Underarm smell After a 60-Minute Ashtanga Yoga Session

I just noticed something interesting. Even after a 60-minute Ashtanga practice followed by pranayama and meditation, my armpits don’t smell at all—not even a bit. Has anyone else experienced this? What could be the reason?

Angioplasty report different doctor different opinion

My dad is 70, got angioplasty done 3 months back and found 3 blockages with 95%, 30% and 50% blockages. doctor said only 95% blockage need stent and other 2 can be managed using meds. Cut to yesterday i showed the same angioplasty report to a famous doctor in the city. He says other 2 arteries has 90 to 95% blockage and he was surprised why this was not addressed yet. Not sure how this can happen. Anyone else faced this?

If I could remove one thing from Bengaluru streets, what it would be?

For me, it’s autos and the behavior of many auto drivers in Bengaluru.

My very first experience in Bengaluru as a student was terrible. I was new to the city, carrying heavy luggage, and got charged an unfairly high fare. Even after paying so much, the driver refused to drop me properly and left me on the other side of the road saying he wouldn’t get another trip if he crossed the signal.

That first interaction really stayed with me, and sadly, many experiences after that have felt similar — rude behavior, unnecessary arguments, overcharging, abusing, hurling bad words, always breaking traffic signal and rules and complete lack of basic courtesy.

What surprises me is that I’m a Kannadiga and I’ve travelled across Karnataka extensively. In most other cities and towns, auto drivers are generally kind, respectful, and helpful. But Bengaluru somehow feels very different in this regard.

I know not every auto driver is bad, but the overall experience has honestly been one of the worst parts of living in the city for me.

Setting up Business in Spain

Hi, we have customers in Madrid, Spain, and we’re considering setting up a warehouse nearby to better support their factory operations. Has anyone from outside the EU done something similar? I’ve come across several forums mentioning that setting up a business in Spain can be quite challenging. Any insights, experiences, or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Moving to Spain

I have an opportunity to move to Spain. I’m in my 30s, married, and we don’t have kids. I’ve always loved Europe and have traveled to almost every country there. Spain was actually the first European country I ever visited, and I instantly fell in love with it. Quietly, I had always imagined that one day I’d live there for a longer period of time.

My wife and I are both very introverted people, and we’re naturally drawn to calm, quiet, and secluded places.

Now, three years later, that possibility has become real. I’ll be setting up a business there and, hopefully, creating jobs for locals as well. But as everything starts becoming more realistic, I find myself wondering if it’s the right decision.

Subclass 189 Visa – Has Anyone Applied as CEO/Managing Director with Family Business Experience?

I am a 30-year-old female with a Bachelor’s degree in Electronics & Communication Engineering and a Master’s degree in International Business. I have 6 years of experience working as a Director across multiple family-owned companies, where I have been responsible for business operations, management, strategic planning, and decision-making.

I am planning to apply for the Australian Skilled Independent Visa (Subclass 189) under occupations such as Chief Executive Officer or Managing Director. Since my experience is primarily within family-owned businesses, I would like to understand how this type of experience is assessed for skilled migration purposes and what supporting documents are generally required to demonstrate genuine managerial and executive responsibilities.
