What? Swords? I don't understand...

Were swords once part of the game? Is the wiki just drunk?

I've built an apple orchard plot, but with an Avalon theme. Currently putting together an oak grove on the shore of my lake, and thought it would be neat if I had a lady of the lake theme for it, and immediately thought of the myth of lady of the lake and Excalibur. So of course I wanted to see what I could use to build some sort of sword like thing and started googling.

First I saw that Sifuu already gave me a sword display. Haven't noticed it in my inventory, but I'll have to check it out.

Second, Google is showing a makeshift sword and shield, and then lists a copper sword and shield as a recipe. Then, google sends me to a jadium sword and shield page.

The pallium sword says it was updated in May 2026?

Am I on crack? The wiki on crack?

If this isn't available, I really wish it could be!!

Please Palia????

Made some bug sculptures for my plot!

It all started with the last two pics. Noticed the mermaid harp looked like a wing and put it at my birch grove shimmerfly sanctuary.

I had a space I wasn't sure what to do with it, and decided to do an insect sculptural garden!

Dragonflies and butterflies, bee and ladybug... 8 so far! Trying to figure out how to do a spider but no success yet. lol. Will have some beetles later today!

Editing to add - birch grove isn't finished. I'll be hanging ivy today to help hide the glitched presents!

THE PUBLISHER!

Went with hubby to see the new spider man movie (no spoilers except mentioning a character you see basically immediately after opening credits. So stop here if you don't want to hear).

Movie ended and in the row behind us was a family with some elementary aged kids.

Kid : dad who was that frank guy?

Dad : oh, he was the punisher.

Kid: cool. No idea who he is but I like him!

We start to leave the theater after the post credit scene and they're just in front of us.

Kid : I really liked that PUBLISHER guy!

Dad (snickering but trying not to laugh) : I think you mean the punisher. But a superhero named the PUBLISHER would be awesome too!

Me in my head : Hell Yeah. I could def use a superhero named the publisher!!!

Fb score!!

Just scored over 50 dip powders (revel and red carpet) on fb marketplace for 80$! I'm so super excited to build my collection! Eee!

So tell me, what was your best dip score? Either a website clearance that you were thrilled about, or a second hand purchase that made you squeal in delight? I need more dopamine this morning obviously. Lol.

Manicure #3

Third time doing my nails. First time using more than one color, and first time using an efile as well.

Products used :

Glamrdip bond, base, seal, glow, and heal liquids.

Ombré - Glamrdip Charming (light pink) and Shhhh (darker pink) powders.

Accents - Revel nails day 5 2022 (sparkles)

I kept the colors subtle as I was a bit worried I was going to mess it up.

Still need to clear the cuticles better before sealing the layers, but I'm def getting better.

Question / how long does it take you to remove and redo your nails? For me it's about 2 hours, but I'm slow and still am cleaning up mistakes afterwards.

New to nails and dip powders. But I love it so much.

I bought my first starter kit about six weeks ago, a glamr dip kit with nine colors that I got off fb for 40$ Canadian. This was after getting my nails done at the salon twice in a row for ridiculous prices.

I have super soft nails and so have almost never done my nails (maybe a dozen or so times in my entire life), because my nails bend and it all just chips off and won't even last a day.

I've had gel tips done twice, and just a gel color done at the salon another two times. And even tho I love it, I cannot justify the expense. Certainly not in a regular basis.

I used my glamr dip for the first time about five weeks ago. It was definitely imperfect, but good enough that I felt nice wearing it on vacation the next week.

Ordered some revel nail colors on special because I liked their swift soak bowl, so I added them onto the bowl order.

Managed to do my nails two weeks ago, and was even more happy with the results. Again, they're imperfect, but considering I've literally never done my nails more than a few times in fifty years, this feels like a huge win!

So now I'm jumping in full force! Just got a second order of revel nail colors delivered today. I'm now up to 28 colors (plus a single double from the original glamrdip kit, and a clear powder I got off Amazon). I've gone back on revel and have a bunch more in my cart! Not sure I'll get them all (there's a few sets and some individuals in there, 24 total right now!) but there's at least 16 that I'm almost definitely grabbing.

I've also bought tools, including nail artist brushes, a rechargeable electric nail drill, a bunch of nice nail stickers, some opal flakes and a wax tool from revel, as well as some cats eye uv gel polish for top coats, and a uv light to set it.

I'm insane, but I'm loving this so much.

But I now have more colors than I could even use in a year.

How often do you change your dip polish? Do you leave it as long as you can, or do you change it just because you're excited to try something new?

Pics of my current dip manicure. Only my second time doing it, so please be gentle! I know I need more cuticle space and will try to do that a bit better next time...

I'm a landscape hoe.

I'm well on my way to owning every landscape that Palia sells.

I haven't even fully finished one plot... but when they go on sale, I just have to get them!

Yeah, this last landscape sale killed my budget! Ha.

Now just have to wait for halcyon heights to get discounted!

Anyone else a landscape collector? Or is it just me? I don't buy clothes or fancy gliders or tool skins. Just the landscapes!

Lost the present a pavilion was anchored to?

I haven't played in a few days, but last time I was on, I glitched a pavilion onto a ghost placement present so I could place it out of bounds.

But now I cannot for the LIFE OF ME find the dang present again! I'm 90% positive I know where I placed it, and it's not anywhere near there.

I originally used some floor pieces to setup the placement in bounds so that I could match the oob placement I wanted. But I even simulated that setup, and rotated it (as I had rotated the pavilion before I logged I off)

Is it possible that my present glitch had another glitch that deleted the present but left the pavilion? I really don't want to leave it where I left it, but I cannot even use the housing menu to pick it up as it's oob!

Hellllppppp!

Saw a flare very far away.

Or possibly fireworks.

But strangely I was on my home plot?

Was decorating my plot (homestead) when over the hill on the left side of my plot, I happened to look up, and a twinkling caught my eye. I looked for a bit longer and saw some flares or fireworks that appeared very far in the distance. If I hadn't looked at that precise moment, I never would have seen it.

Has anyone noticed this before?

A brother sister pair that go to my son's school. What non names would you use if you could?

My son spotted some friends from school the other day while we were out running errands. My son (not quite middle school) yelled out his friend's name, and I just sort of stood there shocked. But even more so when he and his sister came over and introduced themselves.

The boys name was Synapse. And the girls name was Syncope (sin-aps and sin-coe-pee)

I mean they are beautiful sounding. But as names? I was a bit stunned.

But I'm sure there's a whole list of cool words that sound amazing but REALLY shouldn't be used as names. What would be on your list? Bonus if you add the reason it wouldn't work!

Talon for me is one. And I actually know a kid named talon. Bane is another, and yup, knew one of those years ago in university.

My list of ones I've never heard but hope I never do, even though they sound fantastic:

Cerebellum - that kid is destined to become the villain. His origin story is that he's not really actually smart, and got bullied endlessly as a kid. So he got jacked using tainted steroids after being dumped by his last girlfriend. Went on a rampage that landed him with 20 years behind bars.

Granite - opposite of cerebellum, this kid was smart but still teased, mainly for being brainy. So he graduates MIT suma cum laude, and builds a super computer that takes over social media such that anytime a traditionally popular person tries to post, poster sees it fine, but the rest of the world sees an edited version which makes them seem sad and pathetic. Worldwide chaos ensues. But Granite is never discovered.

Jallopy - named after her dad's favorite car. She doesn't become a villain, but did endure years of teasing on being broken and cheap. But she runs with her dad's love of cars, and becomes a top rated mechanic, marries her best friend and business partner, and swears she will never give her kid a weird name like hers. Lands up calling her kid Ford. Who gets teased for being Found On Road Dead, and the cycle begins again.

Something big went down on Mapleton.

Was driving by and stopped. About seven police cars surrounding this bus. Saw someone running from the bus, and about five officers taking off after. They caught the person against the fence, and took them down. This is where my photos begin.

52f - dresses for adult only resort.

As title states - heading to Jamaica in July. I've had these dresses both for over 15 years. Rarely get to wear them as I still have young children and don't go out much.

Hubby and I are away for a week.

Are these acceptable dinner dresses? Formal wear not required at most dining, but one restaurant enforces formal attire. I love dressing up, so am using this as my chance!

So yay or nay? Need a better bra for dress 1 and possibly a camisole as it's a bit low cut for my taste.

What kind of chain is this? I can't find it on google?

O have a heavy duty large e cargo bike. The rear drive chain is stretched out and I need to buy a new one, but hopefully more heavy duty.

This is my current chain. It has kmc on some links and 30-3 on a few others.

I counted 132 links, tho o think 2 or 3 are missing. It's about 66" or so long. It's for a single drive chain (only the front is geared not the rear)

The front heat has 18 teeth and the rear has 32 I think (hard to count as it's underneath).

Any idea of what I should look for?

Best Ontario staycation within 3-4 hours?

Looking to do a long weekend away (4 days) this summer. I'll be leaving my younger kids with their adult older brother and his wife, so we'd like to stay within driving range of Barrie if possible.

I'd love some suggestions on where to go and what to do!

A couple years ago, we spent three nights in Niagara on the lake and enjoyed ourselves.

Before our younger kids were born, we did a big European trip and loved it so much. We specifically love going to different places and seeing the sights.

We have done a beach resort, but I'm not sure we really want to chill on a beach for four days. We'd both get pretty antsy.

We are also heading to Cape Breton Island to visit family this summer. I'm not really a camping person so a trip to Algonquin might not be super fun? Unless it's a resort maybe?

Thanks for any suggestions!

my faoritec actions no longer work? AND what are your new faves?

I use PS only a few times a year lately ( a waste, I know, but that's another post)

I am currently editing my son't wedding photos, as I was their photographer - Yes, I'm trained in this and not just someone with a camera. Anyways, I touchup and color grade all my photos in LR, then take one into PS to edit, open my actions, and basically noting works! I'm super frustrated, and have emailed the original makers, but I'm not seeing any updates on their site, so I'm fairly certain I'm just screwed. I might still have PS 2025 someplace on my laptop that might make their's work, but otherwise....

I guess my next option is just to find/buy some new actions for PS 2026! Any suggestions? What are your fave actions that you've found that still work in version 2026?

Haven't sewn in years. Took on this renaissance jacket

The last garment I sewed was 10 years ago for my son's baptism. Before that it had been almost fifteen years when I sewed my oldest her Cinderella costume.

Now one of my older kids are getting married and doing a ren faire style gathering. I couldn't find anything I liked for my husband online, tho I did order one outfit from Etsy but the seller cancelled it a week later.

So I bit the bullet and after sewng my younger kids some GOT style robes, I sat down and made this up in the last few days. It's not perfect. I need to somehow adjust the shoulder/collar area as it has some wrinkles I don't like. Not totally sure got to adjust easily as it's already lined. But I'm stubborn and will figure it out.

No buttons on it in the photo yet (though they are on now just don't have a photo yet).

I almost I did almost yeet my machine several times. It's new and wayyy more finicky than my 1950 singer white ever was (bought for ten dollars in 1998). Thankfully I figured it out and it's finished. Def has some imperfections. But it's acceptable.

Simplicity pattern s3126 used.

Wanted to add - the darker fabric was a dress I thrifted and seam ripped apart. The blue is a silk I bought second hand as silk drapes. They were sage green, so I had to dye them to match the wedding colors. Took a couple tries to get it right, as the first batch I used too much heat and it got rid of the beautiful dupioni silk sheen. Used that one as lining for my kids robes instead. Second batch I had to dye it a couple of times as I didn't want to stir it too much and damage the sheen like I did on the first batch. But it worked second time and I'm pretty chuffed with myself!

This is an iron sulphide specimen I picked up as a child from kettle point in Ontario.

Kettle point is known for their calcite concretions called Kettles or Thunderbird Eggs

While searching this piece up on Google this morning (because all I knew was where I got it from as a child and nothing else), Google brought up a photo of a fossilized sea urchin. This piece closely resembled the fossilized sea urchin.

After researching, iron sulphide can indeed make a fossil, and that area of Ontario is known for fossils from the Paleozoic marine era.

So I'm curious - just a cool shaped marcasite/iron sulphide concretion, or possibly a marine fossil? (Additional photos in comments as I can't access any other photos for some reason).

Edited to add - this was collected as a child in the 80s while swimming at kettle point. I know the larger calcite concretions are protected now, but I'm unsure if these iron sulphide ones are also protected. Back then, they were not.
