Tips for having a good stage presence?

I’ve realised that pretending to be good is halfway to actually being good, and a good stage presence will help me to be good
how can I have a better stage presence

i try to look at/interact with the crowd as much as possible, and look at my bass as little as possible but I don’t feel like I do enough

i usually play hard rock and metal (nothing too intense, the metal songs we cover are Metallica and megadeth)

this is for a school cover band battle of the bands btw so i don’t have space to go too crazy

Are your parents making you work?

I don’t mean finding. job or work experience, I mean revision

i was playing guitar and my mom made me work (despite me doing 2 hours already today)

she said i can’t spend all summer playing guitar

this is the one summer where I can do that??

I’ve tried speaking nicely to her to have a calm discussion, she just shuts me down

as rebellion, i’m on Reddit she would kill me if she knew i had it) when she thinks I’m working

edit: I have just finished year eleven

How can I, a 16yr old boy, be more confident around other people?

Girls in particular

not because I want to start a relationship with them or anything, I just get flustered around them

i treat Them like normal people already but I still get flustered.

People saying ‘Sportsball’

it just sounds so condescending, as if you are superior because you don’t care about the World Cup or something

its easy to tell what sport someone is playing (usually) so it seems like youre deliberately calling it sportsball as an insult to people who care about it

My parents’ rules about my phone usage

for my 16th birthday I got my first phone about a month ago

I didn’t know I was going to get one

I’m at home today, and most of my family is away, I’m just with my mom

I was texting my friends, and my mom says I can’t because ”we don’t just text all day” and she said I need to use my time wisely (???)

it wasnt all day it was less than 15 minutes

i’m on my holiday, and there is nothing else I feel like doing

then she made me leave it in her room

there was no better time than then because i was by myself

my screen time isnt even that high! I don’t even have any social media (apart from this which she doesn’t know I have) and I don’t even have access to YouTube so it’s not like I’m doomscrolling all day

Should I use a guitar amp in this situation?

recently, I got an octaver, and I’d like to do royal blood songs, or songs in the style of royal blood. should I split the signal, and have the octave come out of a guitar amp but the dry signal from a bass amp, or can I have both coming through the bass amp? it would be easier if were both were in the bass amp, but could that damage my amp?

Do American adults actually say ‘criss cross applesauce’ to mean sitting with your legs crossed?

obviously the title is a massive generalisation to say ‘American adults’ but do people say it as a joking way, or is it a normal thing?

im british and it seems so strange for an adult to say. like would you say it in a formal meeting or something?

hope i didn’t offend anyone asking this

edit: i don’t mean would you sit cross legged in a business meeting, i just mean if you were referring to that way of sitting in a formal situation

edit 2: yes i know its unlikely people will say it in a formal setting, but it is possible

i‘ve seen loads of people comment ‘haha lol why would anyone need to say that in a meeting lol rofl lmao roflmao hahaha’ i don’t need any more of those comments

edit 3: i continue to understand it is unlikely to describe sitting cross legged in a formal situation, and to that one person who said ’in my formal meetings we normally use chairs’, i was describing a formal situation. you are not the first one to make that joke and i hope you are the last.
