Few Shots from recent 🍌Banana Pancake Trail🍌 Southeast Asia

Completed another solo Banana Pancake Trail in Southeast Asia, and it was awesome. Have done the same trail twice in the past and after my recent trip to balkans there was an urge to do this again. This time I was travelling very light, carrying around 5 kg only and it felt great.
One of the best bus journeys was from Cambodia to Vietnam (and vice versa). Sharing a few clicks from the trip.
I’ve met a lot of solo travellers from around the world, but very few from India. So, I really encourage you guys to travel solo on these trips. Don’t wait for anyone else. Years later, you’ll be more than happy that you took these trips. The more you travel, the more you learn.
Start young, and you’re gonna enjoy the world. 🌍

Delivery Agent straightway said cannot deliver parcel come pick up- No support from Amazon

Amazon have become worst in past few months. The delivery Agent straightaway denied to come and deliver parcels at home and its around 2KM from our home. The thing is he said you can do what ever you want and is putting no one available to deliver parcel on app. Called Amazon and complaint but nothing. Amazon have turned worst in past few months and i’m turning to local shops as the support is great and its easy for old age parents to get the stuff at home as i’m mostly out from morning to evening. Have anyone faced similar issues? My experience with Amazon in UK and US have always been great. What is the resolution to this? Any suggestion?
PS- I don’t have prime and i’m even paying for the delivery.

Laos Visa Fee Hiked on 1st July 2026

Just to let you guys know that Laos visa fee’s is hiked recently and Laos is milking from Visa fees and service charge on top of visa fees. I recently came to know about this while applying for visa for my upcoming planned trip to Laos. Its not just the fee’s they have put the service charge on top of the fee’s making the Online visa even more expensive. Even the prices of food and Hotels are shooting up in Laos may be due to War.
If you’re planning a trip, it’s a good idea to check the latest visa fees and compare the costs of applying for an online visa versus getting a sticker visa before making your travel plans.

International Driving Licence Permit at Jalandhar RTO (Punjab)- Process and Experience

Sharing my experience at Jalandhar RTO office Near Bus Stand for issuance of my International Driving Permit. I got it 4 times for multiple countries. Thought to share it as there is no information online on how to obtain Internation Driving Permit against your Driving licence in Punjab.
Documents required:

  1. Passport Original in Hand.
  2. Tickets (Print out)
  3. Visa for countries required visa and if country doesn’t require visa then only Tickets will do. (Copy of visa or tickets as stated above)

Apply online but you need to visit the RTO for approval as you need to see the Officer on first floor who is not there most of the times and comes there for few minutes everyday.
Apply it online pay fees go to the office and go to counter on left side. She will ask your original documents and will say you need to get it approved from the officer on first floor. Then you go and wait there for probably 5-6 hours if he comes that day or may be next day or another day.

For IDP i was lucky as he came there same day after waiting for 4.5 hrs and approved it. Then you go down to same lady she will print it and stamp it for you. It’s just a normal A4 paper with original stamps.

Point to note that other RTO in south (states in south India) and even in Delhi require zero visits in person for this kind of services in RTO office but its not same in Punjab.

There was no information anywhere online about Jalandhar not even Punjab so I waited for few days after submitting my application online. As there were no moments or updated on my application so i went in RTO office to know and they moved it from 1st stage(something appears like scrutinizing) to Approval Stage (2nd Stage - Awaiting for approval) which needs you to again visit the Officer on 1st floor.

Same thing happened during replacement of my DL when i lost my wallet 2 years before. As per government and experience of other friends everything must be with zero visits but its not same in Punjab and you need to visit both the officers probably to milk something out of the people.

Check with your rent company if they need one in advance as i was told to bring it just 3 days prior my flight.
Also you need to check carefully and ask at the counter for the Car and/or motorcycle with gears if you plan to hire Mountain bike as these comes with gears only prior first stage or you need to go through same twice like I did as I was not aware of this and got to know only after printing of 1st IDP and then you need to go through the whole pain again.

Rest go through the videos on youtube and check as the process is almost similar just you need to visit RTO office in Punjab which is not required in other states mostly.
One more thing never go to RTO office in Shorts 😂 as they object it and will return you as i saw one of the guy was returned home for wearing shorts and not full pants.

Is it just me or other people also see videos stating Punjab will not join CJP because everyone was against farmers during farmer protest?

I have seen many videos from many people stating Punjab will not join protest because they were against farmers during farmer protest. Lot of hated videos and with same propaganda are trending on social media nowadays. I’m shocked to see how they wanted to divert it to some other lane. What are your views on this? Do you guys also see such posts recently? All these are paid and trending on social media.
PS- Everyone was against the Farmers that time and now they have learned it hard way and it’s too late. I’m not sharing political thoughts. We can always agree to disagree.

My Experience with Orthopedic Surgeon Dr. Sanjiv Goel at Guardian Hospital, Jalandhar

I have always enjoyed cycling. Unfortunately, on 24 June, I had an accident when another person’s mistake caused me to fall off my mountain bike. I injured my left shoulder and right thumb.
I went to the A&E department at John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford. After waiting for around two hours, I had X-rays of both my shoulder and thumb. I was told that there were no fractures and that I simply needed to rest, as the injuries would heal with time. Since healthcare is free in the UK, I appreciated the care I received, but after a few days of rest, I still felt that something wasn’t right.
On 29 June, I returned to the hospital for another evaluation. Fresh X-rays were taken, but once again I was told that there were no fractures and that I just needed more time to recover.
As the pain and discomfort continued, I decided to travel to India for a more detailed evaluation. After landing in Delhi, I went directly to a well known hospital where I was examined, had another set of X-rays, and was again told that there were no fractures. I was prescribed several medications, but I still wasn’t convinced because my symptoms didn’t match the reassurance I was receiving.
I then decided to come home and visit Guardian Hospital for one more opinion.
Today on 11 June, I have visited Dr Sanjiv Goel at Guardian Hospital, Jalandhar.
One thing that immediately stood out was how affordable the consultation was compared to many other hospitals, making quality orthopedic care accessible to more people while other Hospitals have made it money milking business Only.
Before meeting Dr. Goel, I was examined by a junior doctor. I found his diagnosis confusing and wasn’t confident that my concerns had been fully understood by him. I was advised to get fresh X-rays done and wait to meet Dr. Goel.
When I met Dr. Goel, my experience was completely different. He patiently listened to the entire history of my injury, carefully reviewed all my X-rays, and ruled out any fractures or significant bone damage. He then performed a thorough physical examination of both my shoulder and thumb using a series of specific movements. Based on the examination, he immediately explained that my thumb injury was primarily a ligament (soft tissue) injury rather than a bone injury. He also diagnosed my shoulder with a Grade 1 acromioclavicular (AC) joint injury.
Interestingly, while I was still at the hospital, another accident patient arrived with what Dr. Goel identified as a much more severe Grade 3–4 AC joint injury.
He advised immobilizing both my thumb and shoulder for about three weeks to allow the injured ligaments to heal properly. He wants to help people and not to milk money. Gave me practical opinion to choose between plaster and thumb spica splint. He didn’t force me for plaster at all. What impressed me the most was not only his knowledge but also the calm, confident, and reassuring way in which he explained everything. His diagnosis matched the examination techniques I had seen demonstrated by experienced orthopedic specialists in educational videos on Youtube.
In an era where healthcare can often feel commercialized, it was great to meet a doctor like him who continues to provide quality treatment at an affordable cost.
I sincerely hope we have more doctors like Dr. Sanjiv Goel in our society.
I’m by no means connected to hospital and just thought to share it here as it may help someone to take decisions in case someone is confused or looking for orthopedic in Jalandhar.
I’m unable to add Photos and only video is allowed i don’t know why.

Edit- Its not any kind of promotion, I have attached the screenshot email of my X-Ray request from oxford hospital to me with date (in comments) just to prove that everything i have written is correct. I have shared this experience because i have visited 6 different doctors and got this diagnosis from Guardian Hospital only. This post is to help other people. To support my experience you can check just the doctor visiting charges(leave xray and all other treatment charges) in all the orthopedic hospitals (can be done by call) and come back to comment here. People on Redit should support this kind of experience sharing to help the society and other people in need as google reviews have lost the trust and authenticity.

Bangaliyan Restaurant - An amazing hidden spot in Dwarka Sector 12

A wonderful place to enjoy authentic Bengali food without spending a lot. The quality and taste of every dish were excellent, and the prices were very affordable. The prawns were especially outstanding fresh, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. Definitely a restaurant I’ll be coming back to!

Bangaliyan Restaurant at Dwarka Sector 12

Amazing food at very reasonable prices! Every dish was full of flavor, but the prawns were the absolute highlight fresh, perfectly cooked, and incredibly delicious. If you’re looking for authentic Bengali cuisine at nominal prices, this restaurant is definitely worth a visit. Highly recommended.
