How much did you spend on renovations?

Whether it is a minor renovation or big renovation, how much did you spend and how long did it take for completion?

If you can also specify what you did, and what type of home (condo, townhouse, house) to give people an idea of how much renovations cost! Just wanted to know as I just bought a 600sqft condo and want to get my washroom done and add an island!

Have you ever stopped someone and asked what they were wearing?

Similar to my previous post about people stopping you to ask what you’re wearing, but is there a time you stopped someone and asked what THEY were wearing? If so what fragrance was it?

Where do you go for your coffee?

What are some good coffee places in Toronto?

And second question — which coffee store has the “strongest” coffee (in terms of caffeine longevity)? Tim Hortons coffee I will still be yawning two hours later. Dark Horse coffee? I’m not sure what they put in it but I am good from 9am-5pm.

What is the oldest bottle of fragrance that you own?

What is the oldest bottle of fragrance do you guys own, and in terms of quality, how is it?

I currently own Tobacco Vanille from Tom Ford, purchased in 2012. Currently the performance is there (since I have an old bottle, I’ve read the new formulation doesn’t long) however the scent after almost 15 years does have this strong vanilla scent. Almost like a “stench”.

What’s your thought on gate keeping fragrances?

Have you ever loved a fragrance so much that when people asked you… you wanted to gate keep it?

Or you wanted to know of someone’s fragrance and the gate kept it from you (we all have that one friend lol).

Anyways what’s your thought on people gate keeping fragrances?

The best vegan Toronto restaurant?

What’s a good vegan restaurant? Not a takeout but a good place to sit, go on a date, etc.

Toronto Condo owners/tenants, what is something living in a condo shocked you?

When I bought my first condo, I didn’t realize how many maintenance will be needed in the building…which also requires them to come into your unit, like plumbing, fire alarm, etc. Because my schedule is so 9-5 generally I am not home, and if you are not home they will grant access (obviously with security) to go in your unit. That means I can’t be a damn mess and have to keep my condo presentable!

What are some “generic” horror movies that are actually good?

Looking for mainstream films that are actually enjoyable. Not looking for indie horror like A24 but generic like Truth or Dare, Hatchet, etc.

What is a fragrance you loved in store, but didn’t like after you purchased it?

I’m always about spraying it on yourself, let it sit on you and just decide throughout the day.

I recently bought Initio Power Self, I instantly loved it and bought it immediately. However after purchasing it, I realized… it’s too “rose-y” for me and the scent is not something I’d usually wear. So now it will sit in my closet lol.

Bought MVIS in 2021, it went from $5 to $10, $17 (which I got in) and eventually $30. All in one week. Rumors of Google buyout sparked the surge. People praised the CEO..who has quit.

Bought at $17, held for five years because people said it will be “the best lidar in five years” and “GOOGLE CONTRACT SOON!!”. Average of $17, averaged down to $5, and $12,000 later in sitting at $-3,000 with it being worth $.69.

Currently debating on Byredo Body Lotion 455mL ($145) or their Body Cream 200mL ($135). I noticed a lot of companies offer a lotion and cream, what are your experience with them?

My experience with Jo Malone — Their Body Crème 175mL is $125 and Body Lotion was 250mL and $92. Jo Malone is known for not lasting long and I swear their body crème was lasting sooo long on me! I usually hate spending money on fragrance’s crème/lotion because it’s such a money grab asking us to layer with it but this was great! Their lotion didn’t have any longevity in terms of scent.

What are some scents people stopped to ask you about what scent you’re wearing? Again not people stopping you to tell you that you smell nice, but because they want to know what you’re wearing!

So I understand people don’t like to pay full price for their bottles, but they’ll go into the store to smell it, try things out, before making an online order. However I feel like this is why one of the most huge fragrance store in Toronto and Montreal (Etiket) closed down. Nobody is buying in stores.

So do you guys ever buy in stores (full price), or would you rather just order online and get it cheaper?

I’ve had some fragrances change color despite it being kept in a cool, closed area. One example would be my Jo Malone Red Roses. Purchased it when it was pink and now it’s clear. Didn’t affect longevity or performance.

I have a question. I had an employee here steal cash and inventory (he got caught) and he quit right after we caught him (so he was never “fired”). This happened this January.

This week I got a call for a reference check (prior to them quitting they said they were looking for jobs in their field and asked to put me as a reference. At the time I said yes.)

It seems that he forgot to take me off. If an employer asks me what’s the reason for them leaving, or if I was to hire them again, could I tell them due to theft?

Edit-

Would like to mention he quit, gave his two weeks notice, also apologized (in his two weeks notice) for stealing money from the cash register, said he would have someone drop off the missing money, and needed to quit effective immediately because of embarrassment. He also mentioned he wanted to return the money. Again, this was all written in his two weeks notice…which was a text message.
