“The Martian” and “Mission to Mars “. Two movies which both concern an astronaut presumed dead left alive on Mars.

“Mission to Mars”, 2000, is a decent Brian De Palma movie.

My frustration, the most interesting part for me was how the Don Cheadle character survived on Mars alone for more than a year. Marooned. In a habitat that was only supposed to last a month. And not be self-sustaining.

His unexpected rescue by a 2nd Mars team only occupies a couple of minutes in a movie that concerned the exploration of face on Mars.

I wanted more.

My joy watching “The Martian” (novel 2011, movie 2015) is realizing I am watching a movie length of the most interesting part of “Mission to Mars”.

Check it out.

Would anyone have any idea how old this medicine cabinet is? I’ve had it rewired and being installed in my bathroom.

I’m paying contractors to work on my apartment for 3 days. $3,000. Do I tip the skilled workman? If yes, how much?

Tearing up the old damaged tiles and replacing with tiles I purchased. Making sure there are no leaks in the apartment below. Re-grouting my bathtub. Electrical work on a nonworking light switch.

How difficult/expensive would it be for a professional electrician to rewire this 1930s medicine cabinet with lights on each side? It also has its original ballast. The idea is to add an electrical plug so I can plug it into the wall.

Did early colonialists hunt any fish or shellfish to extinction?

We know birds like the passenger pigeon and the great auk were hunted to extinction.

There was a point in the 1880s where the buffalo population was reduced from tens of millions to less than 150 individuals. Only conservation brought them back to the numbers we have today.

But other than coastal pollution formerly limiting oyster beds, were there any fish or shellfish that early colonialist hunted to extinction?

Someone framed this last Nancy panel. Dated June 3 even though there’s snow on the ground. Would anyone know what year? Signed Ernie Bushmiller.

I have a Principal audition on Law and Order. How would you describe the acting style?

I get the idea the acting style is intense, but restrained?

I love hummus. I love Israel (but not the current government). I’m considering leaving r/hummus over stupid politics from both sides.

I don’t need to wake up to a half dozen aggressive obnoxious shares about Israel and hummus.

And I don’t need to hear how the Jews stole hummus from the Palestinians.

I don’t want stupid politics.

I do want hummus!

Holy Hummus introduced me to za’atar with hummus.

Anyone got any good recipes? How much za’atar would you use with 8 oz of me-made hummus?

Bought garlic scape pesto at the local farmers market where it was kept on ice. Then I forgot to refrigerate it for 24 hours. Is it beyond hope?

It’s in my refrigerator now. Can I eat it within 24 hours? Would it help if I put it in my freezer? Is it still delicious? Or a science experiment?

My apartment’s been around 80°..

Every day, thousands of people flow from the Q70 bus into the 74th St., Roosevelt Station. And find out two of the three elevators don’t work. And they have to haul their suitcases up and downstairs.

Yes. I know elevators are out of service in many subway stations. I see it all the time.

But what’s different with the 74th St., Roosevelt Station, come on! It’s thousands of people every day first exposure to New York City past the airport.

For the sake of tourism and New York City’s reputation as the capital city of the world. And the city that gets things done.

Fix the two damn elevators.

It’s better to make New York City look good. Then make New York City look bad.
