I'm taking a chance. Hosting my first full band lineup on the 2nd October. Giving some local bands the opportunity of the big stage

So I'm doing something that scares me. I'm hosting my first full band night at the loft Southampton. Everyone has been asking for it, so why not? We have a full lineup of bands, and the best part of all they get a profit split from the event. If you truly want to see local bands flourish, then this is the event to come and support. Buy a ticket to support local music it really is as simple as that.

How to actually be a good ex

How to actually be a good ex

How do you be a good ex to someone? Respect them fully and go non-contact for well ever? Is that the ultimate right thing to do?

For some context my and my ex girlfreind broke up around 60 days ago. It wasn't bad in terms of any major drama, but she didn't want to be with me and didn't see a future. I told her I didn't think it was right, but I let her go without really a fuss, and we said goodbye. Now it's been no contact ever since. I removed her from my social media, but didn't block her. I've not checked her social media or anything, really.

I suppose this how things will be forever, which, of course, if it's what she wants that fine. I do feel like there are two things that are unresolved, though. I booked and paid for a holiday a month before we broke up, meaning I had to go alone. And I did lose money on the trains and some hotels. She said she would pay her half, but of course, we haven't spoken. I'm not sure if she is just avoiding the issue or trying to be kind to me by letting me heal. Still I would like to tell her not to worry and I have made the money back so it's not ideal but not really a problem. I have more money than her.

The other thing is that even though I've cut her off, I'm not mad with her. We do live in the same city, so we might run into each other, but then that's probably really unlikely. I don't want to be friends with her, but also we don't have to bitter about the whole thing if we ever did meet.

So yeah, she did really hurt me, but I still love and care for her, so I still want to be the best 'ex' I can if you can understand that.

Not all doom and gloom either because I've lost a decent amount of weight and play some of the best gigs of my life (I am a musician)! So yeah, let me know what you guys think would be the right thing to do

If you can handle the anxiety going by yourself is awesome

I booked a trip to towers for the last two days but my girlfriend dumped me. Luckily, I found a friend too come with, but after day one (and ride on 13 and spinball) he just couldn't do it lol. So with no other choice I solo'd today. It seems a bit on unfair, but I literally had walk ons on spinball & oblivion. 13 probably took 10 mins, but it was pretty good. Even though it was really hot, I managed to ride a lot! Rides that don't have solo ques were still okay, and I talked to a few people, so it wasn't completely anti-social. Anything with a single rider que was just walk on, though.

Still sucks she left, but actually, you're going by yourself incredible on certain rides it's top tier. You might be super anxious, but it's actually pretty alright. You can just do whatever you want. Don't be scared to do it, it's great

First run in with far right thugs 10:30pm last night @ St Denys train station

Just wanted to write this as a bit of a ranty post. I was getting the train home last night, as I had been at an open mic and was getting the train home from St Denys. Two drunk lads were on platform 4 with England flags, and you just knew they were going to start issues. I don't even think the game had finished. They called me and a friend 'Polish prixs' and threatened to throw beer cans at us, which is whatever. Honestly, idiots. Then a smart-looking Sikh gentleman rolled up on our platform. I think at this point you can imagine where this is going. I've seen such crap on Facebook, but actually here the words 'Go back to your own country' shouted out in a public place actually left me quite stunned. Then followed by other racial comments I shall not repeat. So I told them to shut the fuck up. Which resulted in them trying to fight me, but luck would have it that they left that poor chap alone. I got on the train as they ran over and also got on the train. One guy just kept asking me for a fight. The ending was quite funny because he likely had a very low IQ. I said, 'I'm really sorry to offend you. I’m so proud that people like you are standing up for our county,' and I think he thought I was being serious. So he just sort of walked away.

What is wrong with these young angry men that have no clue about anything? I do genuinely feel sorry for them; I'm really not sure how they could live their lives with so much hate and stupidity. I'm 100% certain they will end up in prison. Begging for a fight on a train is just embarrassing. If not from last night, then very soon. It is really such a shame that people feel emboldened to attack people for no reason.

Just to conclude, I have put in a report to BTP, & the guard of the train has also put in a report. I would also be careful out their because these people really do exist in public.

Visiting Birmingham (Bournville) with my friend. What do during the day?

Hi,

I'm visiting Birmingham Bourneville next Monday and I was wondering what is their to do during the day? I booked a trip with my girlfriend to Cadbury world (As we had merlin passes) but she broke up with me (big sad). My kind friend said he will come with me on trip as it's non-refundable but I don't think he would want to go to cabury world and to be honest I don't want to either now. So what could two guys do in Birmingham on a monday haha. The evening is sorted as we will go to a brewery but yeah no we have literally nothing planned to do. The next day we are off to alton towers which is cool, but I really need some help figuring out what we could spend the day doing.

Any recommendations would be amazing. I'm 29 if that is any help at all,

Cheers

My april Tour is over. When all is said and done we still raised over £500 for Music Venue Trust. I'm practising and getting ready to go for the next gig at Flack Manor Brewery on Sunday 10th of May. It's an extremely local for me so I am looking forward to getting back onboard promoting the local music scene. This event will be fans of upcoming acoustic music & local fresh beer. Discounted & consession tickets are still available.

Cheers Charlie
