Chances of Nomintation?

I’m based in Toronto and working in a TEER 2 accounting/finance role. I used the OINP Workforce Priority Stream points calculator and ended up with 71 points. I have no idea if that’s considered competitive or not, this is literally my first time applying for anything immigration‑related, so I’m still trying to understand how all of this works.

I also have one big question before I decide my next steps:
If my employer submits a job offer for me in the Employer Portal, and then a few weeks later I officially get promoted (my job title, duties, wage, and TEER change, but the NOC code stays the same), does the employer have to update the job offer in the portal? I have a PGWP

Potential error in Visa Application

I applied for a UK Standard Visitor Visa a couple of weeks ago and completed my biometrics appointment last week. While browsing this subreddit, I saw a discussion where someone mentioned that you shouldn’t list entries into a country where you are already a resident. For example, if you live in Canada and travel to your home country for vacation, returning to Canada shouldn’t be counted as a “visit.” This worried me because I did record those entries. During my time as an international student, I left Canada twice to visit my home country, and when I returned, I listed those entries as “visits to Canada” in my application. I also uploaded all passport pages showing my entry stamps into my home country and now im concerned - could this cause an issue or lead to a visa refusal?

UK Visitor Visa (VFS Global) – Confused about document upload categories

Hi everyone,
I’m applying for a UK Standard Visitor Visa and I’m a bit confused about which upload category some of my supporting documents should go under.
These are the categories I have:
Accommodation – Permanent / Temporary
Passport / Travel Document
Educational Evidence
Financial Evidence
Other
Proof of Application
Life Events
Proof of Business
Sponsors / Employment
Medical Information
Here are the documents I need to upload:
Cover letter – Should this go under Other?
Pay stubs – Do these go under Financial Evidence, or Sponsors / Employment?
Employment confirmation letter – Should this be under Sponsors / Employment?
CPA exam pass letter/certificate – I recently passed the CPA exam and want to include it as evidence of my ties to Canada (showing professional commitments and intention to return). Would this go under Educational Evidence or Other?
Also, does it matter if a document is uploaded under a slightly different category, as long as it’s included in the application?
I’d really appreciate any advice from people who have recently applied. Thanks!

Applying for UK visa

Hey guys, I’m applying for my UK visitor visa. I’m a 22-year-old based in Toronto with a foreign passport. I earn roughly $2,500 per month and will be getting my sibling to sponsor my trip. What documents do I need to ensure I get from them? I know I need a sponsorship letter, pay stubs, and bank statements for the last six months, as well as proof of relationship. Do I also need an employment letter? I personally don’t have a lot of cash on hand, but my sibling has enough to cover my trip. Does not having enough cash act as a red flag? I also have a US visa, can I submit that to further strengthen my case? If anyone has been in a similar situation or know how should I proceed, please let me know. Thanks in advance!

Dog keeps removing e-collar (cone)

My 11-month-old Cavapoo was neutered yesterday, but he refuses to wear the e-collar (cone). He won’t let it be, and I’m concerned about how the next 14 days will go. Are there any other or better alternatives? The vet gave us an Elizabeth cone that ties in with a rope.

CPA ontario result appealing

Hey guys, I failed my Core 2 today and was wondering if I should appeal the results. My decile ranking is 1, so I was pretty close to passing. However, I read online that it takes 10-14 business days to remark the test, but I only have 3 days to enrol for the same exam in September. Has anyone ever appealed their results? Is it worth it? If the remark also comes back as a failure, I’ll have to wait until December 2026 to sit for this exam again. I’m not sure how to proceed.

Visiting Old Trafford

Hey guys, my friend and I are planning to watch a couple of games at OT sometime in November or October( most likely brentford at home and Liverpool away). Should we buy tickets now? If so, how do I purchase them? I checked the official website, and the only options available are VIP tickets. I’d like to be seated somewhere where we can enjoy the atmosphere of OT. Also, how much do you guys think we should spend on the tickets? I see we’re playing Liverpool at Anfield in November. How does one buy away tickets? I’d love to experience a game at home and away after waiting for all these years!

Anyone else in a similar boat?

Hey guys, 22M. Been living out of India for almost 5 years now. I love my parents but they are never happy in things that I do. I get that some of the habits I have are bad. But i never receive a “good job” from my mom even when I do something nice. They always focus on the negatives and try to lecture me about how i coupd have done things better. I get that its for my benefit but cmon, you can cheer up a little bit. I always hear from them that you are nothing like us. I am a Gujarati so i always hear that you are nothing like us whenever I tell them I ate chicken, fish or whatever. Words like these hurt me, i dont understand why they decide how much they love me based on my food choices? I drink too so again thats one more thing that they hate about me… i get that its bad for my own health but I drink prolly like once a month or maybe even less. Whenever I tell them I went out with my friends, they turn their detective mode on and ask me questions like what did I eat? Did I drink? And when I tell tjem the truth they make a bad and disappointing face. Whenever I go out, try to live my life(nothing extravagant). I am not a religious person, i believe in the whole ideology of karma and try to be as good as I can without actually expecting anything in return, but for them, religion is doing path puja all the time, going to temples and all that. One of the other things they are disappointed with me in. The only reason I moved out at 18 was so that I can do things without there being people who constantly judge me and now as I get older, I think about what will happen when they eventually move in with me after they retired? Am I the bad person in this? I dont want to put the entire blame on them but how do I handle this situation? Has anyone else been in the same spot?

CPA Ontario Core 2

Hi everyone,
I’m currently in CPA Core 2 and writing my exam in about a week. I work full-time in public accounting, and the last four months have been incredibly busy. Between client work, deadlines, and the weekly Core 2 submissions, I feel like I haven’t been able to dedicate as much time as I would have liked to technical review or proper debriefing of practice cases.
At this point, I’m trying to make the most of the final week, but I’m feeling a bit overwhelmed and unsure where to focus my efforts. For those of you who have already passed Core 2 or were in a similar situation, what did you prioritize during the last week before the exam?
Were there specific management accounting topics, case-writing strategies, quantitative techniques, or study methods that you found most helpful? Did you spend more time on practice cases, debriefing, reviewing technical concepts, or working through MCQs?
Also, is anyone else in the same boat right now? It would be reassuring to hear how others are feeling heading into the exam and what your study plans look like for the final week.
Any advice on what really matters for exam day and how to approach the final stretch would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!

Becoming more emotional

Hi everyone, I’m a 21-year-old male. I’ve always been quite avoidant and apathetic, never crying over films or series. However, all of a sudden, ever since I did Molly a few months ago, I feel like my brain wiring has completely changed. I easily start crying over films and series because I can empathize with the situations happening in the scenes. I’ve also started to really understand my own feelings. Does Molly have anything to do with this, or is it just me aging and maturing?

22M going on a first date with 22F — should I bring flowers or anything else?

I’m 22M and getting back into dating after a pretty long break from actual dating. I recently matched with a 22F on a dating app and we’ve been texting for a little while. The conversation has been good, but we haven’t really talked about dating, relationships, or anything serious yet—mostly just getting to know each other. We’re planning our first date soon, and I was thinking about bringing her a small bouquet of flowers. At the same time, I’m worried it might come across as too much for a first date when we’ve never met in person before. How would you feel if a guy brought you flowers on a first date? Would you find it thoughtful, old-fashioned, awkward, or overly eager? Does it make a difference if it’s a single flower versus a bouquet? Also, is there anything else you’d appreciate a guy bringing on a first date, or is it generally better to just show up and focus on having a good time?

22M getting back into dating

I’m 22M and haven’t really been on proper dates in a long time. Over the past few years I had a couple FWB situations, so I didn’t really go through the whole dating/get-to-know-you phase. I recently matched with a girl on a dating app and we’re planning to go on a date. We’ve been texting, but we haven’t really talked about dating, relationships, or anything deep yet. It’s mostly been light conversation, so I feel like I’m going into this without really knowing what to expect. Now I want to get back into dating properly, but honestly I feel a bit out of practice and overthink what I’m supposed to say on dates. I’m worried I’ll come off boring if I just talk about career goals, studies, or life plans. At the same time, I don’t really know how to keep the conversation flowing in a natural way or make sure the vibe doesn’t get awkward or dull. For people who’ve been in a similar situation - what actually works on early dates? What kind of things do you talk about to keep it engaging without forcing it? Also, what kind of place do you usually recommend? Coffee, drinks, activity date, dinner, something else?
Is bringing flowers on a first date a good idea, or does it come across as too much these days?

Hi everyone, I’m trying to buy a refurbished HP EliteBook 845 G8 with 16GB RAM and a 512GB SSD from bestbuy. It’s an amazing deal at 500 CAD, and I was wondering how the experience has been. I only need it for some personal work, like studying for my CPA exam and occasionally playing Football Manager. I might use it for some other simple stuff like using word or excel or maybe learn how to code. Do you think it’s a good idea to spend 500 CAD on it?
