I’ve heard most stores are doing this now due to “value perception” and that due to market prices it now has a resale value of 2 grand, but a video I saw on Instagram from a guy who purchased one said the guy in the swatch store who sold it him said that it would probably double in price month on month and there is a chance these will sell for more than a real AP Royal Oak on sites like ebay due to incredible demand.

I’ve posted numerous videos today of the worldwide craziness that is the new Swatch x AP release. Now you can’t control morons like this, but you can come up with preventive measures to control things better because it’s not beyond the realms of possibility someone gets killed in situations like this, I’ve seen people get punched, kicked and ganged up on , and all over a piece of fucking plastic that says AP on because it makes you like you’re one of the AP bros.

Next time something like this releases, just do it like Timex where you pre order it and they make as many as have been ordered plus x amount on top. Then it completely destroys any chances of scalpers who are now charging 2k plus with some listings going up to 10k on eBay, and it stops people camping overnight only to be told they can’t get one because they have run out, or get punched or flattened by the hundreds or in some cases thousands of people pushing to get in.

I’m a watch lover first and foremost but this release obviously shows immense popularity but it’s also one of the most fucking embarrassing things I’ve ever witnessed to see people behave like this over something so mindnumbingly trivial and non essential.

If people do this over a watch what happens when people need food of it goes scarce?

I’ve also heard on instagram from someone who queued in the UK that the store only had 27 to sell as they wanted them to be “ limited” in production so they wouldn’t get leaked. Imagine waiting for days and they only had 27 in stock 🤣

I’ve seen videos of people fighting over this, apparently the mall in Dubai had to close for “safety” fears as thousands turned up, and now scalpers are placing these on eBay for these prices, and…..people are buying them

If you look hard enough you can find an only Royal Oak for 14k. Anyone that pays these prices for a piece of plastic ….in fact this needs to be studied. I have no idea how people can be such clowns over plastic. A guy on Instagram 3D printed his own wall clock with the similiar pop design and it looks better than swatches miniature pocket version.

It’s put me off ever buying one that’s for sure

Would this influence your decision to eventually get one ?

I know nothing about watches but it has been declared genuine by Patek boutique, but got told by the staff it was so rare that they have to send photos and serial number to be checked by Patek themselves and Adrien Patek personally because of its value. They estimate value could be at around 400-500k.

Is this an auction piece or could I chrono 24 or eBay it ?

Comes with box and papers too , and the papers say it’s valuable and signed by Patek themselves so you know it’s genuine.

What a bargain, and apparently some are saying it’s such a “hot” item that preorder prices will get to 5k…….fucking pathetic! You need your head testing if you pay retail for it never mind this 😂😂😂

The royal plop, utter shitter

The video is out there for anyone wanting to view it but it is a pocket style watch attached to a necklace. Rumoured prices are expected to be in the £750-£1000 range with resellers hoping to sell for 10x value. We could actually see these pieces of plastic sell for more than a Rolex Submariner , insanity

So basically he’s annoyed he paid hundreds of thousands for a watch that he can now get for 300$ ( his words not mine ) but doesn’t realise that there is a gulf in difference between what’s actually going on with his watch and the swatch watch which hasn’t even been revealed, and how the watch is even made, also he’s using it for the “hoes” who don’t know the difference. So this is a watch that just gets him women apparently but now won’t work anymore because everyone will own one.

Why the f would anyone want to buy an AP or even be associated with it when clowns like this buy them

The guy is on everything and not one thing he has done is ever successful, ruined Top Gear, ruined a Question of Sport….WHY!

I love it though, my Oasis is now going to be filled with even more books, however if you’re reading this then I’d love as many book recommendations as possible, ideally non fiction because despite loving fiction when I was younger, I’m now not as interested and prefer real life stories. Also enjoy a wide variety of subjects I love art,science, medicine, true crime, palaeontology, psychology, so any suggestions would be helpful:)

For me this is the best watch I own, I’ve spent a stupid amount of money on straps but the sad thing is that the first strap I got for it is actually the most perfect one.

While so many people ( rightfully so) buy the new hydro models, this for me is the perfect minimalist Longines that just gets better every day.
